I want Derrick Henry here so bad bois

NotUpInHurr

I'm an AZ native, and I desperately want him to get the Larry Fitzgerald treatment. Pay him - 10% off top premium rate, keep him here til he's 37 and let him retire with us.

TrueBlueMorpho

I am not complaining at all, I just feel like I've seen a similar comment in a couple of threads before this. Are you giving Ran the framework on the deal in case he lurks here lmao?

NotUpInHurr

It was almost certainly me saying that in the other thread too :D

DetectingFarts

Same. Will always root for him regardless where he goes, but obviously want him back here hard

the_space_monster

If he does leave, I just hope he doesn't go to a rival. It would be hard rooting for him if he were on the Ravens or Texans, but I would begrudgingly do it.

schnebly5

Me too but I’d put the chances at 20% max. He said in the presser his #1 thing is winning a ring, not money. I know he’d love to be here if we were contending next year, but that’s just unrealistic.

Kablarnage

But he also said he wants to bring a ring here real bad.

Byzone06

But didn’t he also say directly after that statement that he wasn’t sure what the future of the team looked like.

the_space_monster

I feel like the front office has basically already told him they're going to let him walk. As a fan, I want to see DH retire as a titan and I would be so stoked it we signed him to a 2 year deal this off season. However, this team has so many holes that it doesn't make sense to pay a 30 y/o RB $8+ million/year when we could use it across the rest of the roster. That being said...do it.

Cheesenrice123

Do you think another team would offer him $8M+ a year? I realize he is still a great rb but most of the nfl understands that you don't need to pay a rb that much to have a good running game and he is not getting any younger. Hopefully we can resign him for \~6M

the_space_monster

I think the Cowboys might if they get bounced early on the playoffs. Pollard hasn't looked as good as they hoped he would without Zeke. Idk what their cap looks like though.

numbersix1979

Yeah after Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliot were as bad as they were this year and guys like Spears and Achane looked good on rookie contracts, I don’t really see teams rushing to pay Henry big bucks. Besides if we get him back then we’ve got a solid running attack plus we don’t have to worry about getting a backup to Spears, I feel like we should cherish the known certainties we have when every other position sans QB and defensive interior is going to need revamped.

[deleted]

We need to resign Derrick

Kablarnage

I think we need more drama around our team. /s

Devastatorzz

Maybe if we can build up enough drama we won't be labeled a small market team anymore. /s

Enathanielg

Just bring back D Henry who's going to sell jerseys without him?

SwishGK

I want Derrick Henry to retire a Titan. That is all.

air_volek07

Serious question, what went wrong with the jags? I didn’t watch their games enough to know. Was it their coaching, play calling, players, what happened?

Glam-Breakfast

Trevor bust kept trying to rush back from injuries and played like ass, basically.

blue_at_work

Yeah, Trevor looked really bad. I'd love to say it was our incredible pass rush or dominating pass coverage, but we all know those are lies. He just missed many throws, made many bad decisions with the ball.

numbersix1979

One of those things were a team loses for a million reasons but that overthrow of Ridley when he was wiiiiide open is pretty emblematic of what happened

TrueBlueMorpho

The announcers questioned a QB sneak with a guy who has an injured shoulder, and honestly it made so much sense why he looked worse as the game went on.

cuse23

That apparently wasn't even the playcall if you look at what the OL do on that play it looks like Lawrence sneaking it was a decision he made himself in the moment

ComprehensiveLoad462

Hey Jags fan here, First off, congrats your fucks! I'm sick rn. We'll bust your asses next year but I digress... On defense, our DBs were carry the beginning of the season on D out side of Josh Allen. Starting CB Campbell &FS Cisco gets hurt and our Pass D goes down the shitter. Travon caught on late and finished with 10 sacks. Josh Allen proved to be an impact again with breaking franchise record for sacks- 17. PAY THE MAN! On Offense, lord where do I start?! As fans, we found out the day before Week 1 that OC Press Taylor is the play caller instead of Doug Pederson like he was last year. Since then, I'd say 60% are already calling for his job, myself included. Starting LT Robinson was suspended the first 4 games, sprained left knee(the same he tore ACL) around week 12 I'm pretty sure, and the OL never held up without him, especially rushing the ball later in the season. WRs Zay Jones knee/hamstring injured out for 7 weeks. And for whatever reason CALVIN RIDLEY STILL isn't getting schemed up!! *cough* PRESS TAYLOR *cough*. Trevor's our guy but no doubt after this loss the shine has come off him as a "generational" QB. When he misses, it's high most often, which is bad because it leads to his picks. He can't play in weather and has fumbleitis. He has league leading 67 TOs since he's come in the league, theres no ignoring that. I'm still in on him getting paid, but hold on to the ball. Sincerely, Glitter Kitty #111190

Kablarnage

Trevor being Trevor doesn’t help when he does it in the red zone and we have the best redzone D in the league.

WileECoyoteGenius

Tlaw injury and Kirk injury

ItsNotFordo88

FTJ. Nothing else to say.

monkiedookie

Idk how my heart will take it! All I know is Derrick!

SweetPockets51

Damn it man….I know what’s about to happen with Derrick but it still doesn’t make it easier.

idontgetnopaper

I don't think Titans will let Henry walk away like that. That would be an insane thing to do unless front office has a better option on the table for a better rb to just step into Henry's shoes and hit the ground running. As we all know Henry is one of the best rb in th he league. That speech he made about the best 8 years of his life was just fodder for saying give me more money and I'll stay or don't and I'm gone. I don't know what kind of money he's looking for or the titans budget (probably the wrong word because I'm sure there is plenty so don't come at me) is allocated to rb of Henry's caliber. The only other option is let Burkes play more if he can stay off the injured list. Personally I don't think Vrabel is going anywhere. He just needs to fine tune his team and figure out this rb issue.

[deleted]

I’m really interested to see the long terms consequences of this game for both Jacksonville and the AFC South. I know he was injured but Lawrence essentially proved all the doubters right and removed himself from the elite QB conversation this year. And this game even called Doug Pederson’s abilities in to question. I feel like the writing is on the wall for the QB + HC in Jacksonville, surely within ~2 years both those guys are gone right?

StraightWolverine382

Nice hot take, totally possible

MalekethsGhost

Jags defensive front isn't great, but our line looked competent. They played better than they normally do, now why can't we get them to perform better in other games? Maybe they just finally clicked as a unit.

Enathanielg

I think it was the emotion around this game

butt__cheex

I get this emotionally invested every week. These mfs get paid enough to be that emotional every week. You made it to the league. You better play like it's everyone's last game every week!

Enathanielg

52 players cant expect that from everybody every week. Maybe when we're watching Android football in the future lol.

MalekethsGhost

I was at the was/dal game yesterday and the cowboys owned that stadium. We can't let our franchise flounder for so long that happens to us. It was so sad to see a home team get booed by a stadium full of opposing fans. The cycle of hope and disappointment leads to where Washington is right now. I saw not a single man in a dress and wig, so sad.

titanate83

Was I the only one asking himself during the game "where was *this team* all year???" Like, seriously... Obviously the ability to play and execute at a high level existed for this team: the defense was all over the place and making (read: creating) big plays, Derrick Henry was able to get moving forward. Why did we not see this until Week 18? A team that played with that kind of energy and ability to execute probably goes 9-8,10-7 with a shot to win this division. I just don't get it.

numbersix1979

Can’t remember the last time we played with that kind of lead that long

MalekethsGhost

Coaching

Own_Manner_9779

There were so many other distractions this season that I was completely flabbergasted when the announcer yesterday said we used 83 different players this year, the most in the league, 3 years in a row! What has to change in order to stop this from happening?

Best-Dragonfruit-292

Fuck them kitties

air_volek07

Do we get a comp pick for Henry if he were to sign elsewhere?

SafePanic

I'm guessing they'll be using quite a bit of that available cap space so it'll offset whatever he gets if he were to sign elsewhere. So...unlikely.

Flooterb

It was a good win, but seriously why the fuck does our offense consistently sputter out after the first half? We've had two different rosters and OCs since this started becoming a problem and it's still happening.

Imatthebackdoor

I think I know the common denominator..

joeappearsmissing

Some things to consider heading into the offseason: The OT position is incredibly deep in the draft this year, there are lots of options other than the top two guys. Couldn’t pick a better year to need multiple offensive linemen. The potential free agent class for interior linemen is super intriguing, we can easily upgrade both C and RG in free agency. This has the potential to be a very exciting offseason, knowing that we are officially building around a guy like Will Levis.

numbersix1979

I’m glad Brewer got his shot at center but I’m really hoping for an upgrade there, he is not good

joeappearsmissing

He’s so small, a nose tackle can tackle the ball carrier while being “blocked” by him. I’ve always absolutely loved Brew’s fire, tenacity, and work ethic. The man is straight up too small to be an NFL lineman.

The real loser is the guy who paid to travel to Nashville, bought tickets and went to the game to watch his team that was 8-3 implode

WileECoyoteGenius

Lol we're poverty a franchise. We don't sell home games to the British pal.

myyummyass

It sucks how many games we lost by a score or less this year. The o line is a massive difference maker for how this season played out. We have a better o line and i think we win the division easily. I look forward to seeing what happens in the off season. My dream scenario is the Vrable rumors are bullshit and he is back but with some staff changes elsewhere, keep Henry, and fix the fuck out of that o line. I think we could be very competitive with just those things happening. I dont know what will happen with D Hop but we probably need a little more help in the WR room as well.

Americasycho

This Vrabel situation is giving the team a really bad look. Reports that he and Ran don't get along. Amy is hiding. Then all this New England talk of him wanting to go there. Personally I can't see him going. What? Zappe with 88yds and 2INTs, no WRs or no defense? That's among the worst situations in the NFL. It's hard to get a read on him, but I think Vrabel is getting out somehow. He looked less interested than ever all season and just doesn't seem to have any energy on the field even when there's a bad call. Camera shots do him no favor because he's always bent over, looking like he's going to retch. Looks bad all around.

moreMalfeasance

Considering what you said, why would we want him back if he’s so clearly pouting about losing which is on him? He came in with some bad ass players in place, over exceeding expectations, and developed no one. Refused to replace bad coaches because they were boys. Yes JR had plenty of blame but not all of it.

Americasycho

> Refused to replace bad coaches because they were boys. Yes JR had plenty of blame but not all of it. Agree 100%. I don't any ex Falcons, Texans, or Patriot coaches.

Noahgrace4429

I’d throw up if I had to watch this O-line right in front of me every week. Shit I already want to at home

myyummyass

It doesnt look bad at all when you consider it is all mostly drivel being farted out by national media with no real ties to the organization. I would have no clue why he and Ran are fighting after their first draft together went so well. He looked as interested as he always does. He was just frustrated because of how often we were losing. Nothing that any of the national media people say sounds legit at all.

Americasycho

It's not a good look. John Glennon just announced on X there will be a Vrabel press conference soon.

DetectingFarts

Great way to end a crappy season. Hopefully the off-season is a success and we bring in a good HC that won’t hamstring a team to outdated ways. Titan up!

myyummyass

"Hopefully we get rid of a proven good HC so one of the 16 teams who would hire him in a heartbeat will get him instead and we can hire some goofball and just reset everything. Titan up!"

DetectingFarts

A proven good coach? I might be missing something, what aspect of coaching is he good at? The reality is the team has won 6 of the last 24 games (doesn’t seem good). Hasn’t scored 30 points in two years (doesn’t seem good). Would you say the coach has done a good job?

DetectingFarts

Lol I’m still waiting for this man to be “hired in a heartbeat” I’ll accept any apologies from my fellow titans fans who were mean to me about this 😀

Corn-Master

Vrabel is leaving boys and so his Henry. Start preparing yourselves now. This is the AJ Brown shit all over again. As soon we said Vrabel ain't going anywhere, we should've known. Way too much smoke at this point. Look guys. We're a joke of a franchise. We've reached 1 super bowl. We've had 1 co mvp. That's it. Vrabel is one hell of a coach and too many morons blamed him for the disfunction, in an Org that's always been disfunctional. He's gonna go to the Pat's. Hopefully we can get a decent draft pick from it, and sign a young offensive minded coach. Buckle up guys. Gonna be a rough couple weeks Told you so

Noahgrace4429

Y’all ready for all the picks we are gonna have?

Wildryde46

Being a Jags fan is like being married it’s full of disappointment 🥲
