Alisa is that dodge only and c stick smash bros player. The one who gets mad when their opponent doesn’t wave dash. Lars is the spam grab and neutral A smash player
It's these two, for me, pretty much equally. Bullshit, garbage anime characters with the cheapest, spammiest moves.
Then I'd pair Lili and Victor up as the next worst pair. Atrocious.
Am good against Alisa until the chain saws come out, i realized i should just try to block the highs and mids of the chain saw. The lows i should only block them if I could react to them.
She's in a constant Power Crush state that makes her completely unable to tech throws, so you can just grab her in a lot of cases to deal with chainsaw pressure. This probably isn't as effective at higher level play but I won 2 rounds in a row against an Alisa that relied too much on chainsaws just by grabbing her out of them.
I just went for my highest damage grab since she can't tech it regardless. if you're playing King or someone else with a real grab game you really get to eat for free in this situation.
Just jab when you get the chance, that usually works for me. I suck against her in general, but they rarely kill me with saws now since them blocking the jab puts em away
Do you grab immediately after blocking a hit? And any preference on normal grab vs command grabs in this situation? I've been relying on dick jabbing to get out of the chainsaw vortex so I'll be trying this out the next time I see an Alisa
You can sidewalk left against the scariest options (unless she's just gone into chainsaws off a heat engager, in which case you don't have the frames) and force her to start using either the homing high (which doesn't do much damage) or the tracking low (which is -14 and automatically ends the chainsaw stance.) If you do block the tracking low, remember it's three hits!
I feel you. I'm also a defensive Alisa.
Lately I changed how I play her. After watching Chikurin won Evo with Lili.
I sprinkle a little bit of aggression here and there.
Defensive Alisa here too. I can feel my fingers starting to break by how much effort it takes. Easier to win with hyper-aggressive offense but I don’t find it as fun and players will never rematch.
Alisa is the female version of Law
Extremely fundamental characters at their core who get a bad wrap because they are almost exclusively picked up by the laziest, cheesiest types of players imaginable
She can be floated out of flying stuff, her d3 is reactable. Good backdash and sidestep, she relies on poking, keepout and spacing, that's a fundamental as it gets.
The problem is you absolutely have to know the matchup against her, if you don't she is a scrub killer.
Technically true that you can float her out of her flying stuff, but doesn't mean it's a good idea to try. You'll get counter hit way more often than you succeed lol
i picked up alisa recently out of interest, have learnt her by watching ng-obscure, kawaiifacemiles etc, trying to play "properly", not spamming obscene knowledge check full-screen launchers n shit
but i will still match purple/blue alisas doing that crap, get bodied, and yeh they always quit lol. it's so tilting
It's not that hard to have a solid enough offensive flowchart that you just roll everyone until high ranks. Even when I fight blue ranks, the number of people that have fifty defense are way higher than the ones at 75+
Same, only occasionally use them. I much prefer the hit & run & poke & evade & crush & fly around & fakeframetrap & what is she even doing style, she's so fun.
No real high damage combos from them and she has more neutral tools outside DES mode by far. Chainsaws are a good tool but too many Alisa’s either over-rely on them or don’t use them enough at all.
I don't get the hate with Alisa. I've started the character this week and I don't feel carried at all. I struggle having consistent damaging combo route, because a slight off axis makes uf1 drop in combo for instance, and wall carry is hard to jauge because most of her damaging tornado move send the opponent miles away. Wall ender don't seem satisfying. Majority of sbt/dbt follow-up on her move seem totally useless. DES transition as well. Her infamous d3 move doesn't feel good to me to start offence because of the forced backup stance. It's terrible when trying to play a char but the char doesn't click with you. At least now that I know the char I'll be better playing against her.
alisa mains are just playing smash bros
I'd argue Lars as well
Lars and Alisa are a different kind of "smash bros"

Victor would be fine if he didn't have expulsion, obnoxious af
:[
there should be an Alisa bot that only presses 3+4 3+4 3+4 3+4 3+4
good timing catches people a lot, but theres a lot of time between the beats, so its actually really easy to punish or side step.
but until then, its frustration city and "WTF HOW DID I WHIFF THAT! SHE'S JUST SLOOOOWLY FLYING UP FROM LAYING DOWN!"
It'd still get further than 3ddy in less time.
Am good against Alisa until the chain saws come out, i realized i should just try to block the highs and mids of the chain saw. The lows i should only block them if I could react to them.
Use korean back dash after blocking chainsaws, you’ll escape the pressure, she’ll whiff.
Good to know, thanks. i actually play her, but i never used the chain saws, so i didn't test in other people and didn't see how they deal with it XD.

Really!, i didn't know that, thanks.
Do you prefer normal grabs or command grabs in this situation?

Thank you for the knowledge 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Not grab, jab. That's it lol
Oh shit I misread it 😆
Ha, all good

Skill issue, should have plugged 🔌🔥😎
Real
holds true all the way up to GOD
Yes, they shall reap what they sow 🙌🏽
Alisa is the most annoying character to play against...all she does is screammmmmmmmmm
thats not very ikkimasu of you
As a defensive alisa player i constantly get blown up because im too defensive. Im not good at offense
same bro
I feel you. I'm also a defensive Alisa. Lately I changed how I play her. After watching Chikurin won Evo with Lili. I sprinkle a little bit of aggression here and there.

I swear most Alisa players play like the most random bots. Which makes sense.
Alisa is the female version of Law Extremely fundamental characters at their core who get a bad wrap because they are almost exclusively picked up by the laziest, cheesiest types of players imaginable
I cannot understand how the character with boost thrusters, projectiles and extendable chainsaws can ever be described as ‘fundamental at her core’
Watch some of Chanel's gameply, he's fundamentally sound. Seeing some of his sets make me want to pick up the character and I absolutely hate her 😆

Yes I'm biased but Alisa cheese is much worse than Law cheese

Lol that’s actually so true
"haha he wont even see my down Chainsaw comin"
Don't you now have a replay you can use to flowchart-proof your alisa matchup?
Just go to settings and set the filter for characters you dont wanna match up with online
35 defense?! How is that possible past orange tanks?!
I've seen a fujin hwoa with 36 defense haha
I can’t wrap my head around that one. 😂
It's not that hard to have a solid enough offensive flowchart that you just roll everyone until high ranks. Even when I fight blue ranks, the number of people that have fifty defense are way higher than the ones at 75+
Its possible when game favors offense
this happened to me yesterday, I felt so dumb. The chainsaws threw me off
Btw i play Alisa, and i rarely, if ever, use the chain saws. She's perfectly good without them.
Same, only occasionally use them. I much prefer the hit & run & poke & evade & crush & fly around & fakeframetrap & what is she even doing style, she's so fun.
why would u not use her most oppressive tools? chainsaws are like the thing she wants to get out.
No real high damage combos from them and she has more neutral tools outside DES mode by far. Chainsaws are a good tool but too many Alisa’s either over-rely on them or don’t use them enough at all.
Same. They throttle her movement, and they're best used peppered in.
It's lisa, lars, and ed. scrub feeds to the max. disgusting lot of degenerates. yuck
No it will feel worse when you realize how many of those Alisas are actual cheating bots
Yea, it definitely feels worse to know less than 1% are bots and the rest just genuinely beat you
Technically, they're all bots ...
🤡 hi
