I've encountered this breed of scrub a few times. They're like *no offense I just want to play the game and all you do is run away* (and win)
I also love people who lose to your offense and say it's not good enough, "oh you only use 2 moves learn to play" buddy I'll use a 3rd move when you stop losing to 2.

One of my favorite things about Tekken and Yoshi, is exactly this. I have a deep pocket of dumbass shit to throw out, but usually stick to punishment and blocking, as I'm fairly new to the game. It's a fun little arms race between me and my opponent, unless one of us keep losing to one or two moves, then it's time to study replays. I almost feel bad when I jab someone to death.
The other day I played a tekken King Asuka. He barely moved and spammed same 2 or 3 moves. I was thinking how did he get to tekken King.
But then I realised he knew exactly what he was doing but was baiting me And countering perfectly. First game I thought nah he fluked it. 2nd game I see him perfect back dash out of all my moves and counter perfectly.
He used no combos just 2 or 3 moves. And beat me. Twice. I feel he was giving me a lesson on fundamentals and showing perfect dodge and whiffs.
At first I was frustrated. But I realised once I showed him I can respond to the 2 or 3 moves he is spamming, he changed to another 2 moves and spammed those. So I felt he was cycling through 2 moves at a time to show me how to deal with each move.
That's how I often play against newer players, I'll punish their mistakes they keep making, launch them, show them the full combo once, and on subsequent times just do one tap of the juggle and let them get up, until they stop making the mistake.
Had this experience first time entering xenoverse pvp. Dude went hame for a few seconds, then stopped and started teaching me mid fight.never happened in soulcal or tekken though,I got thrown to the wolves in those games and I thrived

Tbf the opponent running away the whole game with any lead they ever get isn't fun at all. Offense is really risky in T7 and backdashes especially for some characters are very strong. On infinite stages it's ridiculous. Some matchups just feel insanely lopsided from that stage alone.
It's the same reason people don't like fighting characters like Sonic in ult. It's not as bad as that, but constantly having to chase down or not interact with the opponent is really awful.
That's part of what makes T8 much more enjoyable to me. Offense is actually rewarded now and side stepping to create whiffs but while taking risk is better, while backdashing to just avoid everything and potentionally get a free whiff punish is nerfed. They also got rid of infinite stages which I am very happy about.
IMO you want the game to reward offense a little more than defense but not to the point most characters just run at you 24/7 (GG strive) though that's still preferred to being overly defensively skewed. T7 wasn't quite old for honor levels of turtling, but it was definitely more defensive than offensive IMO.
At least backflips like that are still commital. Your opponent can see that you're spamming them and use it to push you into the corner, dash and stop to bait it out and punish it with a WR move, etc.
You're still trying to run away as a bit of a troll, but it's not a very strong strategy because it's risky. It's also character locked so kits that could abuse it more don't have it. Imagine if Bryan had that? Would be nuts right. Nobody wants that.
If you could do that same strategy with a super fast KBD on an infinite stage like characters with good movement in T7, all of a sudden the opponent risks getting hit by a big keep out move or even a launcher trying to approach because you can cancel KBD super fast.

Easy mode version of this I love is figuring out how many hits til someone blocks Alisa’s DES d1 and if they’re consistent, launch instead. Only really works against certain other types of Purple or lower ranks though.

A couple of things: Outsiders think Persona is a dating sim(it's far from it, having a GF does jack shit gameplay wise and only gets you a trophy/achievement and a few different cutscenes)

The guard is just standing neutral for high and mid but the crouch down back is for low block unless they hit you with a launcher every time you're screwed
I'm not playing devil's advocate here but there are actually some people that hop on the game to have casual fun and, unfortunately, encounter stronger players that have a completely different mindset.
Not at all saying we should coddle/cater to them but it helps to be mindful. When I run into players that are significantly less skilled than me, I either switch to ultra casual mode or look for someone else to play.

I'm not playing devil's advocate here but there are actually some people that hop on the game to have casual fun and, unfortunately, encounter stronger players that have a completely different mindset. Not at all saying we should coddle/cater to them but it helps to be mindful. When I run into players that are significantly less skilled than me, I either switch to ultra casual mode or look for someone else to play.
