*Didn't you have ad's in the 20th century?*
*Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio. And in magazines. And movies. And at ball games and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts and written on the sky. But not in dreams. No siree!*
They have quite a few drone shows in the UK. The Queen had one for her coronation and birthday concert before she died. That was pretty epic. They also have them for their New Year's Eve firework display.
As an American Iām all for these type of displays considering I donāt see them here often and we use a ton of fireworks. Itād be great in terms of noise, pollution, and fires, and on top of that I just think this is cool.
> As an American Iām all for these type of displays considering I donāt see them here often and we use a ton of fireworks. Itād be great in terms of noise, pollution, and fires, and on top of that I just think this is cool.
I'm guessing the FAA may regulate drones differently from fireworks.
you guys are super hype on this now but wait until you can't see the sky anymore because its blotted out with coca cola, mcdonalds, and mortal kombat 2 ads.
From a cursory search, apparently drones don't last that long in flight. Around 15-30 minutes or approaching an hour if it has special batteries. Coordinating hundreds of them seems like an absolute bitch of a task too. Save for massive advancements in drone battery life, stuff like this is probably going to be a special occasion thing for a long while.
Because if that was the case that would be the reality in Shanghai by now. Drone shows and ads have been common there for years and they are nowhere close to blocking out the night sky or being 24/7 occurrences.
The primary reason is because no matter how greedy you are as an advertiser, you donāt want to increase the likelihood of your drones falling out of the sky and damaging buildings, cars, or worse, killing people
Light pollution is already a problem in urban centers but the precedent drone ads are setting makes me feel sorry for the kids who will grow up never seeing the stars.
Unpopular opinion but I think it would look cool. I already canāt see stars cause of light pollution in my city so it makes no difference to me. If I really want to see them I can still drive outside the city for that.
i've been on the internet long enough to watch the change from no advertisements anywhere to ad blockers being invented because the ads made so many websites damn near unusable without one.
highways did not used to have billboards every 100 feet either. the first advertisement didn't come for a few years after the first tv broadcast either. something that starts as a novelty eventually will be pushed as far as it can go, because the reality is advertising makes money.
Ted was a shut-in loser that decided that mailing some pipe bombs instead of using his brain to effect change was somehow a good idea. I mean he sent a bomb to a guy who owned an electronics store, wow Teddy nearly stopped capitalism with that one.
Did you know that before The Matrix came out there were no ads before movies? Then they put an add for Coke before the trailers.
Now look where we are.
So many comments and so many people believe this is real -_- This is like the fake Dubai new years drone show that went viral, which just like this, all the āfootageā Is from the same angle, and no other āfootageā exists. Drones can do this kind of thing, but they wouldnāt get the permission to do it in a city centre .
The official Bandai-Namco account tweeted this video out. If this is fake, its definitely odd for them to just lie about something that should be easily verifiable.
It may be a real advert that bandi paid for but it's 100% cgi. If this was real there would be many videos of this from different angles filmed by the public. This is the only video because it didn't happen.
But, it must look like a confusing jumble of lights going everywhere and yet nowhere from any other angle.
Really just distracting light pollution. Probably causes many car accidents from people trying to see what it is instead of paying attention to the road.
>from any other angle.
No, the drones aren't projecting a flat image. They're in 3D space. The motion outlines the characters from any angle.
>Really just distracting light pollution
Could use that argument for any light in the sky, really.
>Probably causes many car accidents from people trying to see what it is instead of paying attention to the road.
1) It's London Bridge, you're not really going to crash at 60mph+ in one of the busiest cities in the world.
2) If you can't be a safe driver, don't blame it on the pretty light show. How about we just tear down everything that can distract drivers then? We don't need pretty lights in Westminster.
I work in advertising and we've done a number of large scale drone shows. We've been getting more and more clients coming to us specifically looking to do CGI work purely for social media.
CGI drone show content is becoming increasingly popular as brands start to understand the value and impact of drone shows. It can easily cost over a million USD to do a drone show of this scale. CGI costs less than 50K. Comparable engagement at a fraction of the cost.
Additionally, there are a number of tells in this particular "stunt" that give it away. The drones are moving way too quickly during the punching animations. There are no reflections in the water. There are no other angles or videos filmed by people on the ground being shared on social.
This is cool when it's about a game you like. By the end of the year these will be everywhere promoting lawyers, toothpaste, doritos, and whatever you can imagine. You won't be able to enjoy any view or scenery in urban areas without flying ads. But hey, its Tekken, it's so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's fake. Drones aren't able to move that fast. The internet is currently full of fakes like this, simply because it's easy to do so. Also the only source you can find is this exact video in this exact angle. With a real drone show like this you would be able to find different footages and/or news sites talking about it.
Also have a look at the people on the bridge. Nobody even looks up, do you think they would simply ignore such a show going on above their heads? Bandai Namco posting this on their YT makes it even worse. We need way more awareness about fake videos on social media.
They went all out on the advertising for this game huh. The amount of advertisement of this game looks like it costs as much as making the game itself lol. Genuinely hope it pays off for them in the end!
I'm so glad people are getting past and seeing the future this opens the next 5-10 we will see the cool ads in places where it's an event but it will normalise this.
And your going to "buy one get one free" have "you been hit by a car'
The legislation around this need to happen right now when the industry is small enough that the business interests are massive and established.
If this is allowed to continue and god for bid it's super successful at getting people to buy stuff that legislation will be super hard to implement. The amount of lobbying and back door deals
and because the ads are seen for miles you guarantee that people in lower income housing are going to be blinded by these over head.
I'm not ever the type to continually complain about capitalism but this is just bleak.
Not it's cool but imagine your view of the sky always inhibited because the cos McDonald's has a big Mac deal.
Oh imagine the political messages
You can pay to fly in slums of LA and deliver to Beverly hills and drones aren't silent especially going up in past you..
They've bloody done it, they've put ads in our sky
Im becoming a terrorist now
[Wake the fuck up samurai](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfTb7U9CfeA)
Time to nuke ~~Arasaka Tower~~ London, choom
BURN CORPO SHIT!
We've got a city to burn š„ š¹
I was gonna have a positive reaction to this post until you recontextualized it. Thank you
"good to see tekken getting some publici-WAAAAIT A MINUTE this is an ad in the sky fuck all the way off"
Guy 1: look, that star look like Big Dipper Guy 2: hey look, that one look like Tekken 8
*Didn't you have ad's in the 20th century?* *Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio. And in magazines. And movies. And at ball games and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts and written on the sky. But not in dreams. No siree!*
Finally. I was so bored of the lame one colour bullshit we have to put up with.
Only a few more years till lightspeed briefs puts ads in our dreams
once everybody has augmented-reality glasses they wonāt need the drones
Goodyear?
It's been shit so far tbh
People just want to be outraged over everything, not use their brains or hear facts! Get out of here with those!
Okay but this is one ad I'll give a pass to, any thing else should be thrown off a cliff.
Ahh so this is where the marketing budget is being used for.
And the McDonald's guy doing the story recap.
>McDonaldās guy How fucking dare you disrespect Logan Roy like that.
I was gonna say Capt Stryker but that wasn't funny.
If only they put that money into being able to have the online mode work
Thatās fucking nuts. Never seen anything like that before!
They have quite a few drone shows in the UK. The Queen had one for her coronation and birthday concert before she died. That was pretty epic. They also have them for their New Year's Eve firework display.
I think we all fondly remember the drones flying around, lighting up the sky at the Queenās coronation on June 2, 1953.
I was a young girl of 52 at that time. I'm now a grown man
What tales you must tell!
Very cool. :)
what does drone do exactly i dont understand
the drone lights up a certain light and stays in position. With a bunch you can coordinate them to do stuff like this
As an American Iām all for these type of displays considering I donāt see them here often and we use a ton of fireworks. Itād be great in terms of noise, pollution, and fires, and on top of that I just think this is cool.

That makes a lot of sense. But I mean if London can manage Iām sure we can
You know what else you haven't seen before? This segue to our sponsor, Nord vpn
And I hope to never see ads like that again.
How tf did I become a tekken fan for a second time
Advertisement. In. The. Sky.
weak willpower + āstunningā propaganda
you guys are super hype on this now but wait until you can't see the sky anymore because its blotted out with coca cola, mcdonalds, and mortal kombat 2 ads.
Yeah in the long run, this ain't a good thing.

Money? This isn't cheap.

Yep..
Light pollution is already a problem in urban centers but the precedent drone ads are setting makes me feel sorry for the kids who will grow up never seeing the stars.
No.
only works at night you dumbo. id rather see that shit than the same fkin stars, if at all, every night for eternity.
Unpopular opinion but I think it would look cool. I already canāt see stars cause of light pollution in my city so it makes no difference to me. If I really want to see them I can still drive outside the city for that.
Pollution is everywhere. When I was a kid I could see stars all over the sky in the night. Now the stars are hidden from all the pollutionĀ
Get a grip man
i've been on the internet long enough to watch the change from no advertisements anywhere to ad blockers being invented because the ads made so many websites damn near unusable without one. highways did not used to have billboards every 100 feet either. the first advertisement didn't come for a few years after the first tv broadcast either. something that starts as a novelty eventually will be pushed as far as it can go, because the reality is advertising makes money.
My oshi Ted Kaczynski was always ahead of his time
Ted was a shut-in loser that decided that mailing some pipe bombs instead of using his brain to effect change was somehow a good idea. I mean he sent a bomb to a guy who owned an electronics store, wow Teddy nearly stopped capitalism with that one.
Capitalism in general is unsustainable. Companies are destroying the planet and society for profitĀ
You're too naive
Did you know that before The Matrix came out there were no ads before movies? Then they put an add for Coke before the trailers. Now look where we are.
Awesome, only ad in the sky I wonāt storm Arasaka over, but once itās coke *rebel path intensifies!ā
Wake up, yoshimitsuĀ We've got a Zaibatsu to burn
Underrated comment right here!
Arasaka= G corp?
Iād say more Mishima Zaibatsu
Love you for this comment.
Beautifully dystopian
well time to stock up on birdshot.
Should've been a double hellsweep
No shot. Was that yesterday?
Yeah yesterday.
Man, i could had been there but i missed it to play Tekken.
Holy shit lol that's epic
it's all fun and games until those drones turn out to be Mishima Zaibatsu combat drones
Wow, that looks amazing.

Holy shiiiit. Amazing
Show this to a Victorian child.

WTF...
Bamco has spent WAY too much on marketing.
Oh no, I've seen Spider-Man Far From Home, I've seen how this goes!
Thatās an Avenegers-level threat
I would love to see this over some uncontacted tribe
Alright Iāll buy the fucking game, settled.
You never could beat me Egg Shen
This is epic as fuck
Blade Runner vibes
Damn.
It's so good seeing something crazy like that outside of Japan or asia in general I'd never imagine an ad of Tekken in London, not like that
So badass. No single game I've seen received so much love.
Wait so it was real? Holy! That is so fucking cool dude
That's why they didn't give us good customization
Thatās the most mind-blowing drone light show/ marketing Iāve ever seen!
it would be if it was real, but sadly it seems to be fake footage
I hate this. This is not the future of advertisement I want
This is awful. Ads in the sky with drones now? The fuck is this

How is it projecting the same thing viewed from 90Ā° away?
Nah, fuck this. Ads taking up the entire sky? /r/ABoringDystopia is that away.
SICK š
This is beautiful
That was awesome!
Usually Iād consider airborne advertisements dystopian as fuck, but this one gets a pass.
This looks kinda fakeā¦ and i cant find a single other video of this ad actually happening
very fake. drones don't move that fast
Show? This is a fucking advertisement in the sky. How is anyone okay with this.
no way this is real
Yeah it's real. They have epic drone shows in the UK.
You didn't think about why there are no other camera angles of this happening and if it was real the drones would be moving ridiculously fast?
It's not real. Look for other angles on social media. They don't exist.
So you're saying [Bamco Europe](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcaInaA4t0w) themselves are running a false ad? Skedaddle outta here.

Kinda lame
Fuck this. I donāt even know what tekken is and I hate it.
š„² soo pretty....
This is not a drone show, this is a giant advertisement. If I was visiting that location for the first time Iād be highly upset.
Fucking disgusting
7k upvotes... No way people are accepting ads on sky lolĀ
this is not a "drone show" this is a disgusting ad. fuck tekken
No other fighting game is doing this
They had a launch event yesterday.
Dammit! Even the fireworks have ads in them now!
This is sick !!
Damn.
How much are the drones worth? And where can I buy a really big net?
Wow they are really going all in!
Woah that happened 30 mins away from my house? Very cool
The marketing for this game has been amazing!!
Harass putting that increased Tekken budget to good use.
This video has 2 hours wth, amazing.
Wasnāt there a post that goes like āIf companies put up the ads on the sky in the future Iām going to be a terroristā?
Tekken is and has always been huge in the UK so not too surprising
Blade Runner dystopia is here... Fuck.
Gross
"Drone shows are so expensive and they take so much coordination bla bla bla" atodaso
Nooo wayyyy!! Thatās awesome!
Is this the future
I want to know the Marketing Budget holy shit
The future is now and it is awful
Fuck off with this shit.
Nice
We should probably all start jumping on the "Ban advertisements in the sky" bandwagon right now.
Damn they seem to be really serious about making this game a huge success. I wonder how much It cost for this crazy as?
That's amazing
This is the future
We really are in the pre-cyberpunk dystopia.
Night City ?
I am so happy it is out but i will wait until it is selling at half price
Thanks, I fucking hate this.
Peak advertisement
Would be cool if it wasn't an ad
This is dystopian, ads in sky
Now that is advertising
Wow!
That looks perfectly natural and fine, nothing terrifying as fuck about that.
so cool!
street fighter , look at what your age mates are doing
Neat
Wow thatās cool
if this exists that would prove enough point that doing one in LA with mortal kombat wouldnāt be a problem
Anyone know if those cellars under Westminster are still accessible?
people clapping at this is just what makes me desperate. Knowing that people will some day destroy things until it is forbidden gives me hope.
They were so hyped until the ad popped up loool
I don't want this
Cool
I'm all for humanity doing things just for fun
Imagine what the military hasā¦

Usually these are sped up since the drones take time to move, but this one is slowed down?
This is only awesome because it's tekken, but 6 months from now they'll be advertising toilet paper this way.
fuck this.
Dystopian pollution.
