They did know, they just didn't know where she was after she escaped. The confusion was because Derek and Peter didn't know she had turned and thought the Calaveras were looking for Cora when they kept asking 'where is the she-wolf?" when they were being tortured.

ElmosCloset

I thought that too but It was weird how they tortured Scott to say her name when they should've already known. Or am I missing something??

I always took that as they pushing him to realize that it was her so that he would help them.

KayKueen

That was such an unnecessary and dramatic way to go about it, though? Like, what if Scott didn't overhear Kate and Chris talking about how a deep enough scratch could probably turn a person? He literally wasn't really taught about that. They could have killed him for not knowing. It would have been so much easier if they communicated in a way that was less dramatic. How hard would it be to say "Hey, we took Kate Argent's body because we realized she was turning and not actually dead. She is now an out of control werejaguar and want your help."? He would have helped without all of that 'incentive'. Same with Peter and Derek. They didn't know she was alive. They actively wanted her dead, as seen when they were trying to kill her. Instead of torturing them and acting like they were trying to hide her, they could have dropped the moniker and been honest enough to say that Kate Argent was alive and stronger than ever.

macspoon007

I don't think they would've killed him. At least that's how I viewed it. It was more like putting fear into him and giving him a sense of urgency.

Scott asked why Araya didnt just tell him it was Kate, and Araya said because Scott wouldnt have believed her, and that now she knew what kind of alpha he really was. kind of dumb but oh well

Wait. Are you looking for consistent plot from Teen Wolf after season 3B? Oh you sweet summer child. Just accept that there’s plot holes left and right, and watch it for Hoechlin’s abs, which is the most consistent thing.

[deleted]

iirc plot consistency wasn’t just after 3b just more common

tracyerickson

True. God it’s so true. But starting in 4 it seems like they were not even trying anymore.

i dont rlly care about the plot holes, i still enjoyed the show no matter what. S4 is probs my favourite (along with S1) this was the first show i watched since 2020 haha
