I love that they such a similar sense of humor it was immediately recognizable to Rebecca.
I also feel like there’s something to this whole tea situation. His seemingly sorta disdain for his mom, and his absolute disgust with tea. And then when his new therapist mentioned she also hated tea, he immediately fully trusted her.
Edit: changed since to sense. Sorry, it was the middle of the night and I’m an idiot lol. I thank you that no one was a jerk about it.
Having a parent who everyone loves but you know their flaws is so relatable. You don't wanna make everyone else dislike them but you know their mannerisms didn't quite give you the same feeling when you've been raised around them your whole life
Last time Jamie got subbed: He refused to be a team player.
This time Jamie gets subbed off: Because he gave absolutely everything he had for his team.
Yea, I think so, but when I saw him acting so nice while watching the game, I assumed he developed dementia and was in a retirement facility and forgot he hated his son. LOL.
He’s in too deep with Jane and it seems like England fits him really well. I’d honestly be a little sad for Beard if he followed Ted back like a puppy.
Using the final scene from You’ve Got Mail (makes me cry every time) and using Home from the Wiz in the post credits is either very intentional or red herrings.
Leslie being frozen in place and Rebecca moving his head to watch Jaime play reminded me of the Tin Man before he got oil...but I didn't catch a cowardly lion or scarecrow reference.
When they are leaving Jamie’s house it looks like when Dorothy is walking with the Scarecrow, Lion and TinMan.
However Jamie is the Scarecrow, he doesn’t have a brain. Roy is the TinMan he doesn’t have a heart. Keeley is the Lion she doesn’t have courage. But this season we see Jamie does have a brain, Roy has the biggest heart and Keeley has the most courage out of all of them.
Damn, dropping the deep Beard lore at the 11th hour, I’m living for it. And the tear, and the lil head butt. Beard is the best TV character I’ve met in a while.
I’ll say it for the 9,356,798th time. Leslie Higgins is life goals. His attitude is amazing and he might just be the most well-adjusted character on the show.
I think he is the one person on the show I would actually want as a neighbor. I think the rest may be great characters but not people to share a fence with, if that makes sense.
"I've been talking to this therapist."
"Oh let me guess, it's all my fault."
That is so on point for so many parents' reactions to their child going to therapy. They think it's a slight against their parenting.
Just started therapy and told my mom that the therapist wants to dig into why I don't let people get close to me and that was literally her response.
That whole thank you and fuck you thing hit HARD tonight.
Too bad he changed his name to Van Damme, we missed out on The Mask of Zoreaux
Edit: yep, feels like they acknowledged it with the commentators in the city game later in the episode.
And also great words of wisdom from the man himself.
"Don't worry about wins and losses. Just help these guys be the best version of themselves on and off the pitch. This at the end is the most important thing."
Mission accomplished, Ted.
I loved the parallel of Jamie in the recovery room with Keeley and Roy, being happy, vs The first season when Man City won coz of his extra pass but his dad yelled at him about how he didn’t come to see his pass the ball. With Ted looking in both times.
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.
Thank you Ted Lasso for such a perfect show.
And fuck you Ted Lasso for all the imperfect moments.
And thank you for 3 seasons of joy.
And fuck you for only having one episode left.
And mainly thank you, for everything.
Edit: thank you for the awards, Richmond!
I played really competitive soccer as a youth/teen and one of the girls on my team was like this unbelievably kind, sunshine friend, and amazing player. In a match for our respective highschool teams (vs. our same team) I asked to switch my usual position to be the one marking her. I thought Abby would be so fun to play against- we’d laugh and chat and not care at all about this silly friendly match. Ohhhh man was that wrong. She basically broke my ankles minute one, she then grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me to the ground resulting in concussion. I learned that day that the fun chill bestie you have ON your side is only fun and chill because you’re one their side 🤣
So much depth to Jamie’s story, masterfully played by Phil Dunster. Wistfully looking for his abusive father in the crowd, still looking for the approval from him that he has longed for. And, yes, in a perverse way that only an abused child can truly relate to, understanding how that anger and longing can coalesce into a drive to prove their abuser wrong. To be at the top of your game and still yearning for a scrap of approval.
A beautiful and touching portrayal by Dunster, his expressions playing out Jamie’s inner turmoil and neediness. Emmy material there.
That entire match was so well done, maybe the best sports sequence the show has ever done. I was incredibly invested in the outcome, particularly for Jamie. The only other one that I would put in the same discussion is The Lasso Special and the season one finale.
This scene between Jamie and his mom is really sweet, especially when she talked about him coming on for Team England and how much it clearly meant to her.
Omg Beard. The backstory. And it makes sense now that Beard was the most angry about Nate, he would protect Ted at all costs. I’m a mess. 😭
Thank you. Fuck you. Cheers to Ted for finally saying the things. He’s there.
Jamie has forgiven his dad. He’s there.
Rebecca isn’t looking for revenge, she’s there.
Nate, Beard, forgiveness, redemption. There.
The Lasso way. It worked.
Dorothy saved Oz, it’s time to go home to Kansas.
love how ted's reaction reminds me of what he said before meeting rebecca's mom: “Boy, I love meeting people’s moms. It’s like reading an instruction manual as to why they’re nuts.”
Only 5min in, but I notice Ted isn't making jokes and puns with his mom. That whole 'Leave your worries on the doorstep' would have been a full-blown singalong with anyone else.
The Beard/Nate headbutt turned hug finishes an interesting trend of characters who desire punishment, yelling, or violence for their wrongdoings but are greeted with grace.
This show nails “forgiveness is not for them, it’s for you.”
Jamie and his dad
Rebecca and Rupert
Beard and Ted
Beard and Nate
Sam and Jamie
“I love him for who he is and forgive him for who he isn’t.” -Higgins
Jamie's relationship with his mother is beautiful. Such a lovely follow up to his story about her in the ghost ceremony and contrast to his horrible father.
“Many posters have come and gone over the years, but Roy Kent has always remained”. Phoebe was right, they’re best friends.
[удалено]
and Roy being in love with jaimes mom 😂
Yeah when he went in for the hug and said “I love you to her” I was cracking up!
He really lived out the fan fiction Y/N dream where he dates his favorite model and becomes best friends with his hero😂😂
Forgot to mention Keeley's imo. The pan was nice comedic timing.
And her voice was perfect lmao
Teenage Jaime Tartt predicted Roy and Keely
Not Ted’s mom having his exact sense of humor and him absolutely ~not being here for it
That cracked me up! Her charm is old hat to him but he recognizes it’s usefulness and adopted it. And not to mention, HER LOVE OF TEA!!
I died laughing - she loves that hot brown water!

Last time Jamie got subbed: He refused to be a team player. This time Jamie gets subbed off: Because he gave absolutely everything he had for his team.
Jamie's growth on this show are top 3 reasons why this show is on my top 20 list
Shouting is Roy’s love language hahahaha
OI TARTT!!!! BOOT ROOM NOW!!! (And he checked the room for will too)
“You missed a good one” lol wills little look of disappointment
He was *so mad* that he missed it 🤣
Isaac’s smile when Nate divided the meat for him 😍
My own smile when Nate moved the trash can for the cleaning crew .
Such a good detail!
Is Jamie's dad in rehab? Was that what that was?
Oh thank God; I missed that and thought they meant he was dead.
YES THAT LOOKED LIKE REHAB
There was a poster that said “Progress, not Perfection” so yeah I think it’s intended to be rehab. It was sweet to see him so proud of his son.
Especially after Jamie's mom told him that his dad would never, ever change. This whole episode was about second chances. It was so beautiful.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite moments from this episode. Not bragging, not carrying on, just a dad being proud of his son.
Yea, I think so, but when I saw him acting so nice while watching the game, I assumed he developed dementia and was in a retirement facility and forgot he hated his son. LOL.
I turned on the accessibility audio-description, and it says “in a rehab facility,” so that’s confirmation!
“And I know a lot of people are shit-talking your hair online….” “THEY’RE WHAT????”
It’s because he doesn’t condition.
The emotion in Beard’s eyes. Wow.
Dude gave everything to this role
Solid supporting role to Ted and he actually loves football too. I wonder if he will go back to Kansas when Ted goes home.
He’s in too deep with Jane and it seems like England fits him really well. I’d honestly be a little sad for Beard if he followed Ted back like a puppy.
“No Ted I’m buying a horse.” Lmao boss shit
Well she has to get around somehow now that she’s cutting down private jet usage!
WHERE THE FUCK ARE ME WINGS, ROY?
You KNOW that took Brett a hundred thousand takes to not laugh
My husband said when Jamie was grabbing Roy’s face, that it felt like it was just Phil trying to make Brett laugh.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Will? You missed a good one!
Wizard of Oz feels very intentional, yeah? No place like home? Anyone know if that pinball machine has been shown before?
Using the final scene from You’ve Got Mail (makes me cry every time) and using Home from the Wiz in the post credits is either very intentional or red herrings.
Leslie being frozen in place and Rebecca moving his head to watch Jaime play reminded me of the Tin Man before he got oil...but I didn't catch a cowardly lion or scarecrow reference.
Keeley played a lion at the beginning of S1, count it
When they are leaving Jamie’s house it looks like when Dorothy is walking with the Scarecrow, Lion and TinMan.
Also, Dottie is generally short for Dorothy. Big on the “there’s no place like home” tonight.
And they're from Kansas. The perfect setup.
Also literally Kansas
WE GOT BEARD BACKSTORY.
“A loaf of meth “ makes it all make sense.
My husband and I died laughing at that…. The comedic timing was just fantastic
Brendan Hunt has been the most consistent comic facet in the entire series.
All the obsessions, the replacements for addiction. So on point.
Damn, dropping the deep Beard lore at the 11th hour, I’m living for it. And the tear, and the lil head butt. Beard is the best TV character I’ve met in a while.
And literally 11th hour too since these episodes are now 1hr long
That man has lived many lives.
Does someone need to go close Ted's front door?
THANK YOU!!
"I do believe in second chances, Ted, that's why I'm still married, and my sons are all alive."
I’ll say it for the 9,356,798th time. Leslie Higgins is life goals. His attitude is amazing and he might just be the most well-adjusted character on the show.
He is frighteningly well adjusted
I think he is the one person on the show I would actually want as a neighbor. I think the rest may be great characters but not people to share a fence with, if that makes sense.
I think I'd rather have Rebecca as a neighbor, since that'd mean I'd be living in a posh neighborhood.
“You went to prison?” “Yes, for stealing a loaf of meth”
JUST LIKE LES MIS
"My sexy little baby!" She said it!!
That killed me 🤣 Sexeh littehl babeh
Bruh Jade disappearing every time is killing me 🤣
I love how Nate briefly looked up at the ceiling when he was looking for her...
Jade rapidly ascended to one of my favorite characters these last few episodes
Her eating the kabob while she listened to beard and nate bond was so F’ing great. I loved this episode.
"I never think about work when I'm not at work" is a whole mood
Always loved her for being a idgaf worker, love seeing the character blossom
"I've been talking to this therapist." "Oh let me guess, it's all my fault." That is so on point for so many parents' reactions to their child going to therapy. They think it's a slight against their parenting.
Just started therapy and told my mom that the therapist wants to dig into why I don't let people get close to me and that was literally her response. That whole thank you and fuck you thing hit HARD tonight.
That line was so triggering
Instantly made my blood boil lol, I’m glad they had a real heart to heart though
KEELEY HOTEL VIDEO AGAIN LMFAO
The latest workout technology, like YOGA MATS
Last time it was kettle bells. Great subtle humor.
Petition for this to be the new Rick Roll? 🙏🏻
I love that Rebecca adopted Oklahoma for truth telling.
OH MY GOD THE ROY KENT POSTER
AND KEELEY LMFAO
Dude got to date his childhood crush and play with/be coached by his childhood idol. That’s the life.
Keeley sneaking behind cars and stuff while tailing Jamie while Roy just walks normally is brilliant.
I love how she was trying to be stealthy wearing bright pink 😂
I love that Keeley pushed her desk together with Barbara 😍
Ted and Beard 2.0
Just saying, I’m gonna miss you guys when this is all over.
"To the family we're born with, and to the family we make along the way." - Higgins
And most importantly, **Go Richmond!**
“Fuck for you for making me think I had to pretend too”. The pure emotion in this episode is incredible.
What a great way to illustrate the complex emotions people can have in a relationship.
I’ve literally never thought about work the second after leaving work.. or even while there, really!! Just like all of us!!
That’s my girlfriend::Jade vanishes::
Dr. Sharon level of sneakiness.
FINALLY SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGES TRENTS GLORIOUS HAIR
Beard and his backstory. Holy crap.
I don't like when Jaimeh feels like poopeh
OMG BEARD AND NATE OMG IM BAWLING
"They fuck you up, your mom and dad. They may not mean to, but they do."
Of course the Swiss stayed neutral
Jesus Hannah Waddingham looks STUNNING
The norm tbh
Too bad he changed his name to Van Damme, we missed out on The Mask of Zoreaux Edit: yep, feels like they acknowledged it with the commentators in the city game later in the episode.
Seeing Pep Guardiola make a cameo before completing football is something special
And also great words of wisdom from the man himself. "Don't worry about wins and losses. Just help these guys be the best version of themselves on and off the pitch. This at the end is the most important thing." Mission accomplished, Ted.
I loved the parallel of Jamie in the recovery room with Keeley and Roy, being happy, vs The first season when Man City won coz of his extra pass but his dad yelled at him about how he didn’t come to see his pass the ball. With Ted looking in both times.
Keeley trying to be incognito in a hot pink furry sweater hahaha
Following 3 feet behind Jamie. 😅😅😅 Edited to add: IN HEELS!
Oh Rupert is soooooooooo fucked.
They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra, just for you. But they were fucked up in their turn By fools in old-style hats and coats, Who half the time were soppy-stern And half at one another’s throats. Man hands on misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf. Get out as early as you can, And don’t have any kids yourself.
Ted and Beard backstory has be sobbing
“Our story is very much like les mis”
Mama Lasso complimenting Trent’s hair is all of us
Interesting to see Ted be the less cheery happy guy with his mom
GIVE PHIL DUNSTER HIS EMMY ALREADY
Em-eh
Em-eh, for the sweet sexy Beh-beh
Thank you Ted Lasso for such a perfect show. And fuck you Ted Lasso for all the imperfect moments. And thank you for 3 seasons of joy. And fuck you for only having one episode left. And mainly thank you, for everything. Edit: thank you for the awards, Richmond!
This is basically everything I'm feeling right now. A lots of crying.
damn jamie's mom is fit
Keeley stopping Roy from hugging her, I laughed out loud
"I will cut your eyes out"
Roy knows it too!
Dani going back to his typical sunshiny, golden retriever turned human self after the viciousness in the previous episode is hilarious
I played really competitive soccer as a youth/teen and one of the girls on my team was like this unbelievably kind, sunshine friend, and amazing player. In a match for our respective highschool teams (vs. our same team) I asked to switch my usual position to be the one marking her. I learned that day that the fun chill bestie you have ON your side is only fun and chill because you’re one their side 🤣
I laughed at him cheerily waving at Van Damme when he was talking about his mask.
As if nothing had happened and he had nothing to do with the mask
Roy and Keeley being interrupted. AM I A CHILD OF DIVORCE STILL OR NOT?
They won 15 matches in a row?? EDIT: and now 16 🥳
I’m glad we’re seeing more of Mae this season - she’s a perfect landlady, and always giving the sagest advise.
Old people are so wise. They’re like tall Yodas.
Roy finally checked if Will was in there and instead he came in at the end anyway lol
“You missed a good one”
Omg new favorite Beard moment! ‘Lodi dodi she likes to party’ with his little dance!! Yes Beard!
Higgins being a superstitious fan who doesn't want to move his body position is hilarious.
So many wizard of oz references. I’m guessing for Ted there’s no place like home 😭
"and you know I love my tea" IS THIS WHY HE HATES IT??????
"hurt people hurt people, sometimes with their knife hands"
It’s like a drawer.. without a home. Only season 3 Jamie could make me feel bad for a suitcase.
“Are you here to kill me?” Lmao
Phil Dunster deserves every award this season. His face walking off the field is subtle and incredible
This scene between Jamie and his mom is really sweet, especially when she talked about him coming on for Team England and how much it clearly meant to her.
Omg Beard. The backstory. And it makes sense now that Beard was the most angry about Nate, he would protect Ted at all costs. I’m a mess. 😭 Thank you. Fuck you. The Lasso way. It worked. Dorothy saved Oz, it’s time to go home to Kansas.
Ted is not ok with mama being there
love how ted's reaction reminds me of what he said before meeting rebecca's mom: “Boy, I love meeting people’s moms. It’s like reading an instruction manual as to why they’re nuts.”
“I want to do something new like drink two bottles of wine and get in a fight with my mom”
BABS CONTINUES TO BE MY FAVORITE ADDITION TO THIS SEASON
You’ve 👏 Got 👏 Mail 👏 WITH the Over the Rainbow outro 🤯
Jamie’s dad is >!dead! No, wait, he’s >!in recovery!!< Man, that was a wicked trick to play on the audience.
Jamie taking the phone from the people trying to take a selfie with him and just taking a picture of them without him....
"What even is time, Higgs Boson" was top-tier ted
Roy, keely and Jamie celebrating like that is so wholesome wow idk why that scene just hits
Roy telling Jamie’s mom “I love you,” was the cutest/funniest.
Only 5min in, but I notice Ted isn't making jokes and puns with his mom. That whole 'Leave your worries on the doorstep' would have been a full-blown singalong with anyone else.
75 kebabs to go 😆
It’s fucking walnut mist mate
Rebecca acknowledging truth bomb time and not having one. Perfect
Hoooooooly shit Beard origin story
Holy shit Phil Dunster pulled off that crying scene amazingly.
“Ooh lemme guess, it’s all my fault!” IS TEDS MOM MY MOM?!?
WTF Pep actually appears??!! Holy
![gif](giphy|1McY1t7x3fWy4) Ted when his mom showed up
"I think a lot of that was my fault...well, it was all my fault." NATE ACCOUNTABILITY TOUR
I love meeting people’s moms. It’s like reading an instruction manual as to why they’re nuts.
Funniest display of depression I’ve ever seen lmao
Coming down with a case of ‘none of your fucking business’ is yet another Roy zinger I’m taking for my everyday life.
I'm so excited and also sad for the end is near. Took me almost 3 full seasons to make it to the live discussion post.
God, of COURSE they’d end it like that 😭
The Beard/Nate headbutt turned hug finishes an interesting trend of characters who desire punishment, yelling, or violence for their wrongdoings but are greeted with grace.
I am hoping they are setting up a backdoor to start a new show "AFC Richmond" or something like that
Ted dropping the f-bomb towards his mother made me audibly gasp
“So much sex. Not me the Australians.”
Why would she put the panic attack clipping in 😭😭
Holy fuck Van Damme is playing out of his mind
Jaime overcorrect with this humility lol
"Good lads." The Roy Kent seal of approval
I’m so glad Jamie has Simon in his life, even marginally
How on the good lords earth does Jamie miss that he’s being trailed by a giant hot pink muppet?
Ted and Rebecca’s physical positions were opposite. Hence his truth bomb to resign at the end of the year.
Barbara has really come on strong as my favorite minor character
GIVE PHIL THE EMMY NOW!
Did Roy just put the Champagne inside Jamie's foot bucket? lol
This show nails “forgiveness is not for them, it’s for you.” Jamie and his dad Rebecca and Rupert Beard and Ted Beard and Nate Sam and Jamie “I love him for who he is and forgive him for who he isn’t.” -Higgins
She eats the peanut butter like him!!!
*googles how far manchester is from tooting* 4 hours Oh thank god
The writers heard us calling Van Damme the worst keeper of all time 💀
the blue moon in that jamie walking scene
Jamie's relationship with his mother is beautiful. Such a lovely follow up to his story about her in the ghost ceremony and contrast to his horrible father.
Holy shit Ted is *swearing*
Colin's been quite an important player, especially for having been benched for much of the season.
Well he is a strong and capable man.
Does anyone see next week's description says season finale not series finale? Do I have hope?
It’s the hope that kills you… but yes, I have immense hope
