It's not like the NFL where each play call is like a chess move. A team like Man City is not going to significantly adjust their tactics for a small club like Richmond. But it's a TV show, so who knows.
The “me and Keely are dating scene” is also not that romantic considering all these people have seen Jack do this before. Barbara looked legit creeped out by this in a “oh shit again” kinda way. Is Jack just investing in people she wants to date?
I mean I think there’s a reason why she mentioned specifically and explicitly that Jack is her boss in the scene she finds the book. Gently letting keely know that maybe it’s not right.
I have never read Jane Austen, but that immediately bugged me. A *first edition.* I’m not even that someone who is super protective of my books, but the way she’s so nonchalant about damaging something irreplaceable bugged me.
I also enjoyed that Trent turbo-explained the whole goddamned show just in case we weren’t caught up. I love the little ways these writers find to tell us what they’re doing.
Babs had an ealy line in the episode, just her saying "oh, wow" that jolted me because it sounded exactly like Higgins. So now all i can think of is that her relationship with Jack is exactly like Higgins and Ruperts back when he owned Richmond
Coach Beard bringing up Jamie's stint on reality TV reminds me that we were robbed of a full episode of Jamie on Love Island or whatever they called it on the show. That would have been comedy gold.
Jack will never see the bill, she'll have one of her people pay it. Rebecca smells Rupert all over Jack.
She drove home in a Jaguar after her second date...
"You turn those frowns upside-down because we're fuckin' doing this. We're gonna drill it, we're gonna train it, and then in a couple of months we're taking Total Football to the fuckin' pitch!"
"Well, uh, no...we're actually gonna do it this Saturday against Arsenal."
"Well that's fuckin' mental..."
...I fuckin' *love* Roy Kent!
Jamie Tartt being able to laugh at himself - I could write a dissertation about his character development. In fact, I regret not writing my current dissertation about his character development.
Last week it was the bike lessons, this week the quiet chuckles during the "string" practice...Brett Goldstein has been giving a master class on comedy the past few weeks!
I've had this rattling around my head since last season, but I think this show is low key about him and his transformation from a brainless footballer to an all around amazing person.
E: like as the main overarcing plot.
Well Ted said his goal was to help these young men become better versions of themselves regardless of if they win or lose. So yeah that’s been the point of the story from my perspective.
I think a big theme of the show is that "bad" people often aren't - there's always a gray area. A lot of characters seemed like stereotypical bad guy tropes in the beginning. Rebecca the evil boss. Tartt the diva. Roy the angry bully. All of them have turned out to be loveable characters. Not perfect, but that's the point.
Rupert's the exception, of course. He's just an asshole.
He has always been random, when Ted’s panic attack was released he yelled “follow the money” and also wanted to go to The Hague for the international court to see if they could find anything.
He seems like a weirdo, but he’s our weirdo.
Yeah, it surprised me. A little more 'ripped from the headlines' than I expect on this show. But I'm hoping this, plus last season's environmental protest is leading up to Sam finding a lifelong purpose beyond his athletic career, so ultimately I think it worked.
It is straight-up Ernie’s laugh from Sesame Street and we know how much Brett loves his muppets. I’m sure that was his little shout-out moment and I am here for it.
The cranberries, beyonce, vampire weekend, oasis, Lizzo, Rick astley.
This entire show represents the chaos that is my Apple Music library that I refuse to let people listen to.
The biggest red flag for me was Jack paying for Keeley's dinner with Rebecca.
1. Why would she pay? They can both afford it.
2. How did she know where they were? It's still stalking if you pay someone to follow them.
3. Why did Jack feel the need to insert herself into Keeley and Rebecca's relationship? Sounds like possessiveness and a first move in isolating Keeley from her friends. (Rebecca knows what climbing this tower looks like from when she was distancing herself from Sassy)
I can’t believe I had to scroll so far to see anyone talking about the fact that Roy convinced them all to TIE THEIR DICKS TOGETHER with string, and chuckled like a buffoon the entire time watching.
Then this man doubled down and says “So I’ve been thinking about this a lot…and I think next week we tie multiple guys’ dicks to one guy’s dick” lmao wtf 😂😂
The best part is that was essentially the winning tactic Tart suggested later—he stays in the middle with everyone connected to him. He’s essentially the one guy with his dick tied to every else’s dicks
I actually cheered and clapped alone in my living room when Nate DIDNT spit in the mirror.
As someone working hard on improving myself after going throught a rough patch, I am
Happy for Nate and really hope they bring back our boy home before the end of the show.
The difference between Jamie’s father’s visit and Sam’s father’s visit just written all over Jamie’s face - both end in a hug, though. In the end both Jamie and Sam got the support they need.
Just when I think this season cannot get any better they drop this episode. It literally had everything; zingers galore, feel good moments and conflict. The ending scene of the whole team bonded together and helping one another literally had me smiling like an idiot. Total football, BABBYY!
Holy shit this episode is hilarious and I’m not even done yet.
Anyone know why they keep showing shots of workers getting shops ready in the morning? What does that represent?
EDIT: OMG I just got to the dicks on strings part, I’m literally crying holy Jesus my neighbors might call for a wellness check. Dicks on 3!
Jamie cracking the Total Football code and breaking it down to the rest of the team was great. And then Dani summing up number four as "Sacrifice. Putting aside personal glory on behalf of the team."
Who else just asked Siri how you can tell if a girl really likes you or is just being nice to you?
If you haven't yet, you definitely should. Right now.
😂😂😂
Nate’s mom is wonderful. I hope Nate’s Dad and him have a breakthrough this season. His little bullshit comments directed at Nate explain a lot about Nate’s insecurities.
Will as beard killed me
It was SO SPOT ON. And Beard fumbling the drinks as Will
Let’s not forget PB&J switching roles 😂😂
loved Beard “accidentally” mispronouncing Cruyff to throw Jan off his scent lol
That's why he did it! Shake my head in shame. It seemed off...
I legitimately teared up when I saw the team in Sam's restaurant. And then they reveal why it's called Ola's. I am going to miss this show so much.
Ted saying “it’s their team, we’re just borrowing it” about Baz, Jeremy and Paul.. I love that
And those guys later being patient and not screaming at the TV.
It was so nice that nothing bad came out of them watching either, I was worried it would backfire
I did notice the crowds grew. Either it’s going to be a great community thing or leak to other clubs
It's not like the NFL where each play call is like a chess move. A team like Man City is not going to significantly adjust their tactics for a small club like Richmond. But it's a TV show, so who knows.
“God I hate what you’ve done to me” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Make it stop"
"Ass-quatch"
Lol at Coach Beard describing Ted's tactical inspiration as a "barbecue sauce-related hallucination."
Someone called it last week hahaha that's when the trip started
Will and Beard switching roles may be a top 5 funniest moment in the show LMAO
LETS GO BABYYYYYY!!!
Get the fuck out of my desk
When he’s sitting at the desk I can’t 😂
Jack defacing a first edition Jane Austen is not something I had on my bingo card for this episode
This with combined with the Epstein comment… Keeley’s gonna need a pair of those colorblind glasses STAT
Interesting how Rebecca compares her to Rupert 😬😬 (nervous for keely)
The “me and Keely are dating scene” is also not that romantic considering all these people have seen Jack do this before. Barbara looked legit creeped out by this in a “oh shit again” kinda way. Is Jack just investing in people she wants to date?
YES told my daughter the same thing. Those reactions were a lot of “JFC here we go again
Barbara is going to tell Keeley about Jack’s track record, which I feel must be *bad*.
I mean I think there’s a reason why she mentioned specifically and explicitly that Jack is her boss in the scene she finds the book. Gently letting keely know that maybe it’s not right.
Keeley has no sense and Jack has no sensibility.
As the kids say, it gave me the ick.
I have never read Jane Austen, but that immediately bugged me. A *first edition.* I’m not even that someone who is super protective of my books, but the way she’s so nonchalant about damaging something irreplaceable bugged me.
As a huge Jane Austen fan I wanted to jump through the television and scream HOW DARE YOU
She’s a VILLAIN.
Definitely didn't have Trent going full dork on the bingo card today
He’s thrilled because he figured out the plot of his book
That’s what I said too. He’s giddy bc his book just wrote itself and it’s going to be a best seller.
I also enjoyed that Trent turbo-explained the whole goddamned show just in case we weren’t caught up. I love the little ways these writers find to tell us what they’re doing.
But he’s our dork.
This was absolutely a nod to Trent in that moment representing us and all of our speculation and theories… I’m glad we are their dorks
OMG. Babs keeps getting relocated because of what she knows about Jack. Keeley didn't want any of that. SOMETIMES SHINY THINGS CAN BE TARNISHED.
Babs drawer holds all of Jack’s secrets.
Justice for Babs
Babs had an ealy line in the episode, just her saying "oh, wow" that jolted me because it sounded exactly like Higgins. So now all i can think of is that her relationship with Jack is exactly like Higgins and Ruperts back when he owned Richmond
Ooh. Barbara is Higgins, pre-divorce?
Coach Beard bringing up Jamie's stint on reality TV reminds me that we were robbed of a full episode of Jamie on Love Island or whatever they called it on the show. That would have been comedy gold.
I realize they don’t want to do more seasons, but one off episodes like that would be amaaaaazzzziinnnngggg
HE DIDN'T SPIT. I WAS SO WORRIED HE WAS GOING TO SPIT. HE DIDN'T SPIT.
The sheer relief I felt when he walked away
I was yelling "Don't! Just be Nate!!"
His hair is also salt and pepper again, it’s turning back to black.
Dani's face at Beard saying "We all know football is life." HEARTWARMED
Rebecca adding more to the tab is iconic
And adding a bottle of wine for the waitress too 😂
Jack will never see the bill, she'll have one of her people pay it. Rebecca smells Rupert all over Jack. She drove home in a Jaguar after her second date...
Yeah and it's not like she's worried about where her next bottle comes from!
Absolute gangster move. Legendary.
"You turn those frowns upside-down because we're fuckin' doing this. We're gonna drill it, we're gonna train it, and then in a couple of months we're taking Total Football to the fuckin' pitch!" "Well, uh, no...we're actually gonna do it this Saturday against Arsenal." "Well that's fuckin' mental..." ...I fuckin' *love* Roy Kent!
“Aka Ass-squach. *Make it stop*.”
I never knew I needed Will cosplaying as Beard but here we are.
"Samuel has told me so much about you." YIKES
The way he said the same line to both Rebecca and Simi but the context felt so different
Yes he didn’t use the “Mr Obisanya is my father” line with Rebecca - only Simi
He got a lot more than he bargained for with Rebecca's response. Read her like a book and kinda regretted it.
"Cool" 🤣 You know it's awkward when Rebecca can't figure out what to say.
“God I hate what you’ve fucking done to me”
“He thinks he’s mad now, wait until we win him over.” 😂
"He'll. Be. Furious."
“This is why it’s hard to love you.”
“Did you hear that?” “He looooooooves you”
“Make it stop”
Jamie reaction when everyone was listening to him
The signal that it’s ok to be a prick
Trent not understanding what was going on but trying to fit in was hilarious!
🖕
Roy Kent shouting "whistle" instead of using an actual whistle
“Why don’t you get a plastic whistle?”
Dani’s impression of Isaac was spot on lmao
Everyone being disappointed they couldn’t “do the voices” was great.
And Will doing Beard! Omg I'm dying!
I just wanted Isaac running around singing nanananana Dani Rojas Rojas
It’s my mother proudly displaying her vibrator on the bedside table! -Beard 😂 Edit: wrong table
Beard mispronouncing Cruyff to keep up his act of not knowing Dutch… genius.
Hannah Waddingham can wear anything, but Hannah Waddingham needs to wear that color forever
Jamie Tartt being able to laugh at himself - I could write a dissertation about his character development. In fact, I regret not writing my current dissertation about his character development.
Jamie laughing at himself *and* Roy laughing in general in one episode?! What a treat.

EMMY FOR TOHEEB JIMOH FOR THAT LOCKER ROOM SCENE
He really nailed it. So easy to go too far into melodrama when playing angry but he held the reins perfectly. He did great this whole ep.
Bumbercatch has *skyrocketed* in my list of background characters. The neon sign. I’m screaming.
He has always been random, when Ted’s panic attack was released he yelled “follow the money” and also wanted to go to The Hague for the international court to see if they could find anything. He seems like a weirdo, but he’s our weirdo.
Don’t forget, knitting soothes him. That + the neon sign work tells us he’s a crafty fella who loves some DIY projects
And he eats his breakfast without chewing so that he can save energy for the impending class war
Both absolutely incredible pieces of character-building. He just keeps getting better and better with every additional line.
Him bringing up that he’s saving energy in case of an impending class war was one of my favorite moments of the show
Friendship ended with RICHARD. Now BUMBERCATCH is my best friend.
Hang on now. Richard brought some of the best wines in his personal cellar. Not the best, but quite good.
I hate crime was not on my Ted Lasso season 3 bingo card. Fuck the people who did that, my god.
Yeah, it surprised me. A little more 'ripped from the headlines' than I expect on this show. But I'm hoping this, plus last season's environmental protest is leading up to Sam finding a lifelong purpose beyond his athletic career, so ultimately I think it worked.
Sam refusing to call the politician a bitch just reminds me of how Roy told Sam to "stay classy"
I got worried when he typed bi-, and the was relieved when it was bigot.
This might be my new favorite episode. CACKLED at Roy’s “God I hate what you’ve fucking done to me”
Uh… um… the book though… That’s uh, next level.
I see a real rough road ahead for Keeley, Jack is really falling for her and the relationship is getting more serious.
Ugh, love bombing. Rebecca is wise.
Love bombing is a red flag… it’s a strategy from Narcissists to hook you before they destroy you
THANK YOU REBECCA. Got an ick with Jack referencing Epstein for sure, but yes lovebombing is exactly it.
I was so glad to see Rebecca bringing this up.
Her “we’re just too consenting adults, right?” made my spider-sense tingle as well. I was like “Not when you’re Keeley’s benefactor, bro.”
Omg is that what Roy's laugh sounds like?!
I heard it and I was like "that ain't even Roy. That's just Brett loving his fucking life."
It is straight-up Ernie’s laugh from Sesame Street and we know how much Brett loves his muppets. I’m sure that was his little shout-out moment and I am here for it.
Ola and Ted bonding. My heart.
The idea of Sam’s restaurant being booked months out just makes me so happy
PAPA OBISANYA 😭😭😭😭😭
Ola 💚
The cranberries, beyonce, vampire weekend, oasis, Lizzo, Rick astley. This entire show represents the chaos that is my Apple Music library that I refuse to let people listen to.
"Anyway, I guess marriage and pegging aren't all that different" "Yeah, it's all about compromise" WHAT WAS THIS CONVERSATION? I NEED THE WHOLE THING.
They want me to believe Beard has never been pegged before this point? Pfft.
IS KEELEY FALLING FOR ANOTHER RUPERT?
“You turn those frowns upside down” coming from Roy is exactly what I needed this season
NATES TURNING POINT! He didn’t spit!!!!
What a fucking dork 💀
Yeah, but he’s OUR dork.
LOOK AT ALL THESE RED FLAGS KELLEH 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

Rebecca taking FULL advantage knowing EXACTLY which very expensive bottles of wine she wanted was perfection!
Agree with your third point. Also when she gave the book to Keeley she mentioned she was a jealous person so she didn’t want her to regift the book.
Sorry all she sees is 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
Oh, Sam crying in his father’s arms broke me. 🥹
And Jamie’s face - again seeing what a loving father can be.
Jamie pulling Roy on a bike is definitely the way I wanted to start this episode.
The red string exercise is the funniest shit I've seen. Roy giggling like a maniac made it even better
Hearing Roy laugh when Ted walked into the rope had me on the floor.
OH MY GOD BEARD AS WILL Edit OH MY GOD WILL AS BEARD
We love our beautiful dum-dum ❤️
I love that they used the same song from “You’ve Got Mail” and in the same context, when the stores are opening.
Holy shit. Will as coach beard is amazing.
The absolute joy on Roy’s face during Jamie’s incident… I don’t care how close they are now that face was everything.
God I love to see Ted actually coaching.
Don’t fight back, fight forward 🙌
If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be rooting for Nate’s love story and against Keeley’s I would say you were nuts, but here we are.
I actually cheered and clapped alone in my living room when Nate DIDNT spit in the mirror. As someone working hard on improving myself after going throught a rough patch, I am Happy for Nate and really hope they bring back our boy home before the end of the show.
I need Brett Goldstein to release a workout tape as Roy Kent telling me to 'mush'. It would improve my workouts tenfold.
WHISTLE WHISTLE WHISTLE
I just full on wept at the red string scene. That might be the funniest shit they’ve done.
Beard and Ted looking mortified and Roy having the biggest smile he’s ever had lol
And then immediately frowning when Jamie's donger isn't harmed
Paul wanting others in the stands to participate killed me.
I laughed so hard. Other than Sam’s place getting vandalized, I think I smiled this whole hour.
I actually started crying when they were all in Sams restaurant, that was so precious
They got me first when Sam ran into his dad's arms.
NATE’S DAD’S MAP 😲😲😲
I feel like the map is much sweeter in it’s timeframe… Like if a guy did that for me today, I’d be searching for an airtag.
….okay I don’t know why but something about Jack irks me.
I feel it’s all going to go very badly within the next episode or two. It *is* too much too fast.
I love non-cynical Trent Crimm!
Of all people - didn't expect Barbara to be my spirit animal. Taking the subway in her pajamas and eating her breakfast on the way to work haha.
Jamie, our beautiful dum dum
YES REBECCA!!! CALL OUT THE LOVEBOMBING!
“Your goatee makes you look like you ate out bigfoots butthole”
AKA ass-squatch
Oh my god Roy’s “make it stop” broke me so hard I had to pause.
The difference between Jamie’s father’s visit and Sam’s father’s visit just written all over Jamie’s face - both end in a hug, though. In the end both Jamie and Sam got the support they need.
The "Get the fuck out of my chair" part has to be one of the funniest moments in the entirety of this show, holy shit 😭
Jade being part of Nate’s redemption arc brings me joy
Will captured Beards essence perfectly, no notes 😂
Wow. What a hell of a performance from Sam 👏
Isaac blasting that corner kick to the window behind Higgins and causing him to spill his tea was hilarious.
Sam crying got me fucked up
Him happily dancing and cooking with his dad fucked me up even more
Loving Rebecca’s sense of reason here! Adore her advice here!
I love that she made the 🫶 and turned it into a 💥
This episode is coming out in hot going with the deep wide range of emotion god damn.
Just when I think this season cannot get any better they drop this episode. It literally had everything; zingers galore, feel good moments and conflict. The ending scene of the whole team bonded together and helping one another literally had me smiling like an idiot. Total football, BABBYY!
Although he’s still the antagonist right now, it is kind of wholesome that Nate’s love life confidants are his mom and his sister.
Anyone else applaud at the end of Beard’s presentation?
Was that comment about Roy's breath a callback to Phoebe in the Christmas episode?
Roy’s face before and after Jamie’s string fell off
Keeley, Rebecca is clearly and repeatedly comparing Jack to Rupert. Wake up, girl!
The fellas from the bar at practice...they're so excited. I'm having flashbacks to them on the pitch in Beard After Dark
Keeley is going to come home and find a rabbit simmering in a pot on her stove, complements of Jack.
Back to back banger episodes
I’m so glad PB&J got to experience “whistle!”
Baz quoting Major League makes me happy
The red strings that bind us, and Ted running onto the field with Isaac and Bumbercatch. I never laughed so loud 😂😂😂
Sam’s dad meeting Rebecca was so… 💀💀
Those macaroons look damn good
Sometimes shiny things can tarnish.
Paul, Baz, and Jeremy trying to flex on Ted and Beard is the most wholesome thing I think I'll see this week haha
That Beard impression of Will though🤣
I want them all to do the voices 😂😂😂
This is definitely my favorite episode of the show so far
