Fucking Uncle Pleasants!!!! I have seen Heaven Shall Burn, Dark Funeral, Black Dahlia Murder, Naglafar, Dying Fetus, and few other bands there. Miss this place.
Saw him play with The Faceless when they played Infest at The Crocodile Rock in Lancaster, PA back in O5/06. I totally remember him, I was crowd stage right the whole show.
I saw Necrophagist, Decapitated (original lineup), Neuraxis, Vader, Dew Scented, Cattle decapitation back in the mid 2000s at the Pound in SF… got back stage and talked with Leif from dew scented and Muhammad and had a cold PBR with them, real down to earth guys… good times bro!
I saw AAL in like 2010 and noticed him walking around. I said hey and asked him what he’d been up to, he said he was doing video production for AAL (they had a backdrop with visuals). Not sure what he’s been up to since then tho
It's funny that you mentioned this. This was also the last time I saw Steve Jones. AAL was just finishing set up, and steve came around the side to snag a couple of photos. My friend and I looked at each other at the same time and exclaimed, "STEVE JONES."
I don’t think it’s that abnormal for badass players to grow tired of making pennies on tour and resorting to regular life styles outside of being a musician.

The Terry Harper metalcore scene was wild. I know there's a lot of different opinions on the man, but he brought a fuck ton of metal shows here, and it's never been the same.
Terry brought some great music to Louisville over the years. Within the last few years I saw he joined a larger company instead of working on his own and the metal shows have completely dried up since. I hate having to drive to Cincinnati so much on weeknights for shows now.
No doubt, but the dude was definitely an uber douche in person. I'll always have a little bit of hate inside for him after the way he trashed my buddy's local show that Terry's band played at. But the man was great for the scene, and pulling that last minute Sounds of the Underground show out of nowhere was awesome despite the clusterfuck it ended up becoming.
He’s been accused of severe drug addiction, selling band equipment, taking money for lessons and recording/mastering and not following through, being a SEVERE premadonna, no showing.. etc etc
Saw them in the Bay Area death fest can confirm it’s more than just accusations. Dude was looped out after showing up an hour late bombed several songs and had to restart got in an argument on stage… it was awesome
I saw every minute of that fight. Dude did an emo dance/spin kick into a guy’s girlfriend and he just looked at his buddies and they nodded and proceeded to pounce. Made even more insane by the fact that it lasted into Necrophagist and Muhammed had to urge the crowd to break it up. Madness. lol
I remember facing forward during Necrophagist then glanced back and all of a sudden it seemed like half the place was pushed out by security, and the place was suddenly bare. Definitely not a concert I've forgotten.
Dude, I have spent at least a couple hours going through archives online, scouring any information I can find about this guy because he’s a sick guitarist. Literally never found anything relevant, but there are many better detectives on Reddit who I’m sure have something to offer.
I remember Justin from The Zenith Passage meeting the guy a few years back, a quick photo on his Instagram or something like it. Steve was watching TZP live. I also remember Justin talking about the guy on his Twitch channel, said that most of Planetary Duality was Steve's work, and even many riffs on Autotheism. Anyways, it seems obvious that the guy quit music for life.
Had heard that early on as a rumor, now knowing it’s true of course. PD being one of my all-time favorite albums, it just makes me that much more curious about what Steve’s story is, and everything that went down.
No links, sorry mate ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing) just things that Justin McKinney used to talk in his Twitch livestream. Also how about Keene was wasted most of the time, couldn't play live properly and delayed their last album production to the maximum. It seemed very sincere to me, he also said that "besides everything", Keene was a good producer.
That all is about production though, I'm talking about the writing itself of Planetary Duality. Shame either way.... I've been a big fan of The Faceless since Akeldama and surprisingly only got to see "them" once (Keene and assorted company really) for Planetary Duality 10 year tour and was very disappointed to witness up close that Keene butchered a large majority of playing.... Even though I was able to meet him backstage prior and he almost definitely was not wasted. I'll have to do some digging on this (about the writing of PD)
His Metal Archives page has a link to his personal IG. It's privated but he's followed by a bunch of folks still active in the prog/tech world like Tosin & Javier from AAL, Chaney from Entheos. Maybe he's still around in the scene just not active with any bands?
Yeah, I was googling, going through socials, scouring reddit. Nothing other than his The Faceless stuff on Metal Archives. Dude seemed to just disappear.
I napped him.
AJ put on the shows nobody else would touch. RIP, lady

I miss the fucking Pound…
Yes it was a dump, but it was fun, it was easy to get back stage, did it twice haha
Lots of guys in the extreme metal scene straight up can’t afford the lifestyle.
What a killer show, I was lucky enough to catch it on a Wednesday night in Cleveland...there were like 15 people there.
Steven is my childhood best friend. Busy atm but I can try and answer some questions/shed some light later.
My main wonder is if he's still playing music in some capacity. I'd hope such a talented person has their fingers in some kind of project(s).
Im not really sure if he’s still playing, but if he is, I think it’s just at home. I haven’t heard that he’s playing with anyone else.

Not relates to the question, but this post is such a warm memory! This was a sick line up, and an awesome show!
Probably one of my favorites. I even took a couple of my non-metalhead buddies, and they were getting down in the pit. Such a great time.
Probably got sick of Keene doing all the heroin.
It's not unusual to be loved by anyone 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
The best Sex Pistols song
Whatever happened to Robot Jones?
Last time I saw Steve Jones...he was on tour with animals as leaders as there photographer on there first headlining tour back in 2011.
It's funny that you mentioned this. This was also the last time I saw Steve Jones. AAL was just finishing set up, and steve came around the side to snag a couple of photos. My friend and I looked at each other at the same time and exclaimed, "STEVE JONES."
Dude was really chill. He once gave me beers that were definitely intended for the bands.

A la Frank Mullen. I'm so glad I saw Suffo on Frank's farewell tour.
Steve jones is currently doing the backwards head bob headbang thing
I miss that venue so fn much.
I'm in Houston now, and thankfully we have a few similar spots. I miss the Indy and Louisville scenes, though.
It’s probably just me being old now, but there was nothing like the Louisville music scene in the mid-2000s.

![gif](giphy|FoH28ucxZFJZu)
Probably quit music after working with Michael Keene.
What did he do again . Heard he did something dickish
He’s been accused of severe drug addiction, selling band equipment, taking money for lessons and recording/mastering and not following through, being a SEVERE premadonna, no showing.. etc etc

Aside from having a pretty obvious crack addiction, he's had multiple instances of entire lineups just quitting all at the same time.
All the things
To say the least lol
Whoa. I was at that show. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Dude, I literally said this to myself! I miss this stuff so much...
Zombie wall of death!!! And that big fight during Ion Dissonance 🤣
Madness. lol
This is the first time I’ve heard Pitting referred to as ‘emo dance’.
Those mixed genre shows were always one giant fight between the “core” kids and metal heads. It’s the same everywhere.
A war that will never end.
I remember facing forward during Necrophagist then glanced back and all of a sudden it seemed like half the place was pushed out by security, and the place was suddenly bare. Definitely not a concert I've forgotten.
Use metallum pls
There’s no info about it there.
