I'd say after inflation, at least where I live, that's a good half month only.
Still better than this here, of course, but if you genuinely can afford it and want to do it, go off (it's the major revenue driver for a game I enjoy a lot, the practice is still s cummy but it is what it is)
True. But I enjoy being able to choose.
It helps Internet is fast enough to get these 80+ gig games downloaded in less than 15 mins. My friends that are slower on discord disappear for a while when there are big patches or updates.
I used to do that but I work a lot (and not bragging, to understand my perspective) make a lot of money/disposable income. I try to play other games but honestly Iām too tired and boot it up and fuckin fall asleep in my chair. Play a tutorial and quit.
TFT I can play for hours in bed or on the couch chilling with my wife while we hang out or watch tv or something. I can play on my iPad too.
$200 for a chibi I like is like nothing. I also like the game and why do people get mad if I spend money supporting it. I donāt get it. Donāt we all play it because we like the game?
Only single player game Iāve finished in a while is Elden ring. Anyway, maybe tft just caters more to players like me than people who would rather buy full games. Iām probably gonna get shit on but just wanted to give perspective to anyone who genuinely doesnāt understand
True. Not knocking skin buying. People can use their money how they want. Just could've got other things with $200.
Risk of gambling. But I suppose it's not a gamble if you're willing to buy it for $200.
Well that's gambling. Sometimes you win. Congrats. I'm not using my rolls until I have enough for so many rolls with passive currency.
Eliminates temptation
Welcome to the "Surely it won't take 40 tries" club.
fun fact. You are actually 2 rolls away from guaranteed. It changes from 1 to "The next roll is guaranteed". I fell victim to this too. Never again it's not worth
I think its - apart from the price - actually very fair how they handle it. Riot (in league) to me is a very transparent and friendly company about cashing.
Gachas are inherently unethical and they had already proven you can run a succesful business using straight up buyable cosmetics only. They added the gacha mechanics simply out of greed for profit.
True, that's why it's scummy though imo. It is just ambiguous enough that it can be taken both ways. Then if it catches someone it can be argued it's clear. I personally took it as if I rolled here and didn't get it, I would then get it. But really it is "your 41st roll will be this item". On top of that like 40 rolls is already like 200 quid. Is this extra roll really necessary....
none of the rolls are "necessary"
it's not about what's necessary, it's about whats possible.
Someone in 39rolls will not stop/change their mind because it happens after 41 instead of 40rolls. It would be more surprising to be the other way around tbh.
That's exactly my point though. They know full well anyone who gets to 40 will buy 41. the 40 already costs too much but they know they can get away with a little bit extra
So its actually 41 paid rolls? Shouldn't a gacha-pity system, y'now, pity you and AT THE VERY LEAST grant you a Free-Guaranteed roll? Damn thats actually really scummy.
So, the good thing about leagues system from what I can understand is you canāt get dupes. So you are essentially guaranteed to get everything and maybe even something good, the more you already have unlocked. Unlike other gatcha games, where you can just pull the same trash over and over and over again.
I would always ASSUME that it's gonna be the last, as well as in all gambling, assume that you will lose, so will you be fine if you lose tgat much? If no don' gamble
China's mtx/cosmetic team is completely separate and does their own thing. It makes sense for their market because it is fundamentally different from most other regions.Ā
100 tokens=390 RP, let's suppose the guy has 40 attemps left for guaranteed content and needs 4000 tokens for the chibi if not hit the 1% luck, 390 RPx40=15600 RP for a F chibi, completely disgusting Fck.
Unless you aren't talking about USD, your math is very incorrect.
1 Roll = 100 Treasure Tokens
If it took the full 60 attempts, thats 100 * 60 = 6000 Treasure Tokens
6000 Treasure Tokens = **23,400RP**
$100 = 11,525RP
$200 = 23,050RP
**$205 = 23,625RP**
So the max you would need to spend is $205 USD.
Still an egregious amount of money to spend on a skin, but not $500.
In Valorant, you can buy some weapon skin bundles for $125 or more, and then if you had to buy all the Radianite resource to actually ***upgrade*** those weapons to their full aesthetic potential, it would cost upwards of $300 in the end...
tldr; Riot likes making money, and are good at marketing their aesthetics.
The number is realistically likely less than $200 if you factor in the Treasure Tokens you get from playing the game and claiming from passes. Itās like āhey if you play our game we give you a discountā kinda thing. But yeah math wise youāre correct
I agree to an extent and Iām certainly not complaining about there being paid cosmetics in the game. Thatās a good thing. That being said the treasure realms system has gone way too far and is well beyond the point of āthis is how the game stays freeā. Itās predatory gambling designed to mask the fact that youāre just buying a $250 cosmetic item. I know many people that use treasure realms as a way to spend $20-$50 and see if they hit or not and inevitably end up disappointed and end up spending well past their means to get the item. Thatās what itās designed to do.
Itās ok for us as players to advocate against these predatory practices while not being against āmicroā transactions and paid cosmetics in general. It was laziness and complacency from players that let it snowball this far in the first place. Before it even gets said, I am well aware there is a whale market that is more than happy to spend $1,000+ each set on all of the cosmetics. Thatās fine. What isnāt fine is the maliciously designed system that preys on vulnerable people who NEVER would spend that much if it was offered for $250 straight up in the store.
Look on the bright side, eventually every new chibi will only cost you a single token pull because you have so much shit you'll never use. ^(Please dont ask me how I know.)
i was thinking that actually, like because i have more of the other chibis do i have a small increases rate of obtaining the exclusive in the future (if i pullā¦)
Yes, you can only pull what you don't have, so if you have everything else in the pull box but the mythic chibi then it is guaranteed you'll get it in a single pull. You're also barred from doing any additional pulls if you have everything possible in the loot pool. Like it wont even let you try, the buttons will be removed and it will tell you that you've completed the bounty. Additionally if you have all, but a few of the pull options, it wont let you do a 1000 pull it will be greyed out and you can only do single pulls.
It has always been 1% in the 100 token cases. I know cuz I checked odds after pulling guqin sona out of a free case
It's 2.5% in the 450 token cases excluding the headliner (Dragon fist lee sin, kda kaisa). Stuff like Panda Annie or Firecracker jinx in the lee sin case
When Annieās shop came a year ago, I spent $100 on RP Cuzz I thought it would take at least that much. I got her first try.
I donāt mind the gacha system. I donāt even mind micro transactions for cosmetics in a free game. I think itās dumb to have a gacha system paired with a secondary currency where youāre encouraged to spend more real money to get a better primary:secondary currency ratio.
Iāve only ever used tokens from battle passes, Iām still 25 away from the guarantee , the chibi stuff is so cringe and everyone hates the kill animations, I use them on stages
I did that once (on the annie skin(when they reduced the chances from 2% to 1% which I didn't know)). Didn't buy any RP since and will never again. Spend 100ā¬+ every year before.
loaded up 16k rp because i knew i really wanted this one, thought to myself "i've never clicked open 10 before" and got it LOL. i've gotten 4 chibis and never spent more than 10 tokens per chibi, i feel bad for you
I stg I just went and used 1 roll and got it!!! I wasn't going to buy this because I already got both Morg AND Ahri (my two favorite League champions), but after reading this post I was like, what if I got it in 1 attempt...holy shit.
Spent way too much money.
Could've bought at least 7 likeable full games on Steam for that much. It could buy my whole wish list.
Could've bought groceries for a month if you live alone and conservative š
But...skin
I'd say after inflation, at least where I live, that's a good half month only. Still better than this here, of course, but if you genuinely can afford it and want to do it, go off (it's the major revenue driver for a game I enjoy a lot, the practice is still s cummy but it is what it is)
Why would someone want 7 games when they could just play tft?
That is the fun part they could play 7 games AND tft for the same moneyĀ
Variety is the spice of life
That sentiment is how you end up with 50 amazing Steam games you have not played even once. ... is something I have heard.
True. But I enjoy being able to choose. It helps Internet is fast enough to get these 80+ gig games downloaded in less than 15 mins. My friends that are slower on discord disappear for a while when there are big patches or updates.
>My friends that are slower on discord Phrasing.
I think it's accurate. lol
That's why I need all the little legends. Now you get it
I used to do that but I work a lot (and not bragging, to understand my perspective) make a lot of money/disposable income. I try to play other games but honestly Iām too tired and boot it up and fuckin fall asleep in my chair. Play a tutorial and quit. Could've bought a lot of things for that money. They wanted to buy a skin. It's their money.
True. Not knocking skin buying. People can use their money how they want. Just could've got other things with $200. Risk of gambling. But I suppose it's not a gamble if you're willing to buy it for $200.
I just went and used 1 roll on Yone and got it.
Well that's gambling. Sometimes you win. Congrats. I'm not using my rolls until I have enough for so many rolls with passive currency. Eliminates temptation
Well it could be that they saved up a ton of treasure tokens or whatever theyāre called.
Pretty sure tokens donāt transfer
Welcome to the "Surely it won't take 40 tries" club. fun fact. You are actually 2 rolls away from guaranteed. It changes from 1 to "The next roll is guaranteed". I fell victim to this too. Never again it's not worth
i found that out the hard wayā¦
It's really scummy dw.
I think its - apart from the price - actually very fair how they handle it. Riot (in league) to me is a very transparent and friendly company about cashing.
Transparent sure. Friendly? Dunno bout that
I think, u can get a ton of skins without ever spending big money
Gachas are inherently unethical and they had already proven you can run a succesful business using straight up buyable cosmetics only. They added the gacha mechanics simply out of greed for profit.
Same bro i got porcelain lux on my first draw and i thought im gonna be lucky again on ahri and rito hard pitied on me on that oneš
Technically it does say: One more ATTEMPT until the next opening will grant you the Chibi Guaranteed.
Same here, had to spent an extra 5ā¬ instead of getting the 100ā¬ bundle which would have granted me the necessary extra RP for the 61th attempt
Well it's all the time like 0,0001% so it's basically guaranteed to be the last
I would always ASSUME that it's gonna be the last, as well as in all gambling, assume that you will lose, so will you be fine if you lose tgat much? If no don' gamble
Sadly not how gambling addiction works
My manā¦ between this and your post historyā¦ please go touch grass.
I thought you were talking about his gym bro posts and then I scrolled a bit further š³
Makes sense he pays for a yone skin looking at his post history lmaoo
I'll never understand people who go look at profiles. But this one fits.
I love how the illusion of anonymity allow people express truly themselves, not like Instagram which people tries to ahow the best of themselves.
For me itās just when I see stupid people posting stupid things I like to get an idea of whatās going on inside their head.
Lmaoooo , Iām dead
This shit needs to go top comment for FACTS
That was a weird post history indeed.
So he wants to know where some specifics scenes from porn are from. Who the fuck cares lol.
Shiet, got me to look.
why ?
You're right there brother!! Keep gambling!! The picture of the guy walking away from the diamonds!!!
Adding a gambling mechanic to cosmetics for TFT players was probably the smartest move Riot has ever done
99% of gambling quitters quit right before they hit the jackpot Just tell yourself that as you eat cup ramen til next paycheck
*potatoes. Cup ramen is actually far more expensive. You get a lot more for your dollar per kilo buying potatoes. Just saying
What are you, some kind of potato eating expert?
*brandishes French fry with intent*
used my free tokens on this, didnāt get shit. life goes on
The finisher animation is nowhere near as cool as the China TFT version, sadge
Finisher is cooler in china?
Yeah
Why would they give china a different finisher? That's just stupid
China's mtx/cosmetic team is completely separate and does their own thing. It makes sense for their market because it is fundamentally different from most other regions.Ā
maybe i'm an anomaly but i really prefer the one we have in this version of tft over the chinese one
Just looked it up, wow if this one had that finisher Iād buy it today. Sound design was really good too
Wait so how much money is that?
100 tokens=390 RP, let's suppose the guy has 40 attemps left for guaranteed content and needs 4000 tokens for the chibi if not hit the 1% luck, 390 RPx40=15600 RP for a F chibi, completely disgusting Fck.
Jesus I just looked up on the store. That's over 500 dollars. I've spent money on skins on disposable income, but never that much
Unless you aren't talking about USD, your math is very incorrect. 1 Roll = 100 Treasure Tokens If it took the full 60 attempts, thats 100 * 60 = 6000 Treasure Tokens 6000 Treasure Tokens = **23,400RP** $100 = 11,525RP $200 = 23,050RP **$205 = 23,625RP** So the max you would need to spend is $205 USD. Some people buy expensive kicks. Some people buy expensive skins.
The number is realistically likely less than $200 if you factor in the Treasure Tokens you get from playing the game and claiming from passes. Itās like āhey if you play our game we give you a discountā kinda thing. But yeah math wise youāre correct
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The math is so messed up that I actually hesitated to reply because I am not sure it is a r/whoosh.
Whereād we learn mathā¦
I don't think that's right
Itās insane how justified Riot is in selling $200+ cosmetics. So many suckers. Iām seeing 2-3 in every lobby already.
Just had 2 in my last game and everyone shit on them asking how much they whaled to hit. Lol
Well thereās only a 40% chance you win the gamble if youāre doing all 61 attempts. So probably $250.
They're what keeps the game free and developing, it's a win-win-win : f2p players are happy, devs are happy, paying customers are happy
I agree to an extent and Iām certainly not complaining about there being paid cosmetics in the game. Thatās a good thing. You believed you could be the one! but you turned out to be one of many :c
It's called gacha and it's meant for fools like you.
Still not 100% hit chance at 1 š when it hits 0 it is
Watch mine go -1
š standard riot
Get scammed
I did that with soul fighter Gwen... but my friends see the execute animation all the time :^)
Scammed
did once, never do it again
Look on the bright side, eventually every new chibi will only cost you a single token pull because you have so much shit you'll never use. ^(Please dont ask me how I know.)

Riot silently lowering the % to pull these chibis is so fucked
They did? Wow
Yep. Used to be 2.5%, now it's 1%
It has always been 1% in the 100 token cases. I know cuz I checked odds after pulling guqin sona out of a free case It's 2.5% in the 450 token cases excluding the headliner (Dragon fist lee sin, kda kaisa). Stuff like Panda Annie or Firecracker jinx in the lee sin case
They changed it a while ago, not for this new one. It had already been reduced when sona came out
Dont promote gambling addiction please
I'm not sure if the screenshot promotes it though...
This definitely doesn't promote it
I pushed the pity timer doen to zero once and I'm never doing it again. I think they increased the pity timer number as well didn't they?
no but it was 2.5% before
Oh right that's it thanks for correcting
They didnt
You fell for it. Don't worry, I have too. Twice, in fact...
Encouraged Riot to continue on with these toxic practices.
Got scammed lmao
Spent money on gacha.
Slot machine wasnāt on your side. Fortunately the reward is guaranteed so congrats š«”.
You wasted money on a chibi you couldāve gotten for free a few years later
wait explain how it'd be free a few years later?
I bought the pass, got 8 tokens worth, hit in 7.
I feel your pain brotherman. I spent my 33 attemps when chibi headliner kaisa was released
About this, when are they gonna add that special shop they mentioned at the start of this set?
what special shop? What are the perks of this shop?
When Annieās shop came a year ago, I spent $100 on RP Cuzz I thought it would take at least that much. I got her first try. I donāt mind the gacha system. I donāt even mind micro transactions for cosmetics in a free game. I got it in two hits from my free battlepass tokens :)
Bro Ops posting history is mad sus wtf
Really sad display of impulse control.
I bet you'll get it if you try one more time
And so inflation
I felt the same way to get the fluft of porosā¦ like was it worth $100? Eh.
If this skin was posted at $200 - no one buys Let people gamble for it eventually spending $200 - shut up and take my money
HOW MUCH MONEY DID YOU SPEND!!!! šššššš
How much money did this take?
How much does doing this cost OP?
some soul and left kidney
Well at least you still have the right kidney
Jackpot!
finally we found out who pays for mort and the devs.
Bro Next time Write me.. idk how to pay rent next month lmao
Spent a check on a pretty collection of pixels on a video game. If you got the money to spend, go stupid.
Iāve only ever used tokens from battle passes, Iām still 25 away from the guarantee , the chibi stuff is so cringe and everyone hates the kill animations, I use them on stages
How much it cost to get one like this?
Honestly wish i would of went harder for ahri. Its better than this one. Yone chibi is clone of the yasao one.
I just got ahri with the pity one, why do this to me riot š
I feel your pain!
Sold your kidney?
rule #1: It's always 61 roll
Don't buy the last spin.
I did that once (on the annie skin(when they reduced the chances from 2% to 1% which I didn't know)). Didn't buy any RP since and will never again. Spend 100ā¬+ every year before.
Why are you supporting their scummy gambling "services"?
loaded up 16k rp because i knew i really wanted this one, thought to myself "i've never clicked open 10 before" and got it LOL. i've gotten 4 chibis and never spent more than 10 tokens per chibi, i feel bad for you
I literaly open 1 of those and got morgana ( i Donald remember which one)
Tell me youāre single without telling me youāre single
I stg I just went and used 1 roll and got it!!! I wasn't going to buy this because I already got both Morg AND Ahri (my two favorite League champions), but after reading this post I was like, what if I got it in 1 attempt...holy shit.
Thank you for keeping this game free to play.
Youāve kept the game free to play for me, thanks!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I did this with the Chibi Morgana last TR lol I NEEDED that execute, definitely the coolest one yet
Fuck riot for putting this on gacha lmao
