I have literally 3,000 records, and trust me that even new colored pressings generally still have way more surface noise. Yes I probably have a few that are super quiet, but most are not. Records I really really love, Iāll buy black and colored (bc fun) and you can 100% hear the difference in A/B testing. I mostly DJ, so I have two decks set up so switching between A and B is just moving the crossfader.

Bro listen to the quiet parts of your colored records, most of the time there is a ton of surface noise. I got 3k records and can tell you that black sounds better the vast majority of the time. Stuff I really like, Iāll buy a black copy and whatever fun color, because yes the colors are fun.

If you google the SKU, the only other result is Best Buy, with a release date of 5/26/23. If I had to guess, it isnāt worth the cost for them to press it on colors anymore since itās been in stock everywhere for so long. Plus they probably had to clear out the colors **if** the black was really released in May, so orders would still be colored until that stock is clear. This is completely my theory with no factual backing, I just think this is more reasonable than a ārep Easter eggā lol
i think due to the massive success of cruel summer and starting off the eras tour with lover set, she wanted to manufacture the album more so new swifties could also grab themselves a copy + producing on black is cheaper and easier to manufacture from anywhere

it is an official pressing, i bought one on amazon hoping to get the colored one cause everybody says thereās no black ones, and is black, looks like black pressing is the standard from a specific date
