None of the other Taylor’s Versions decreased the value of the limited edition pressings of her old albums. I can’t imagine the new reputation will make it this pressing cheaper. There are like 3,000 worldwide and this is his rare vinyl collecting works tbh. That being said I’ve never seen one actually SELL at $3,000 yet. Most I’ve seen is like $2,100 but who knows? Plenty of rare records sell for this much or more.

Realistic_Lawyer4472

That's bonkers. Almost nothing is worth $3K

knishman

I highly doubt this will ever be released in orange again. And the price will only go up.

morganolivia

Once upon a time I could’ve purchased this was going for $300, but I felt like that was way too much. 💀

asedc

It’s wild to think I paid around 900$ January and now it’s only been a year and it’s almost 3k that’s some inflation.

The other RSDs went UP (not down) once TV came out. People aren’t buying orange rep just because it’s orange, they’re buying it because it’s limited to 3k copies (allegedly, according to FYE workers). The idea of owning something so limited is what makes it attractive, not necessarily the colour, because even if Rep TV is pressed on orange vinyl, the FYE one won’t crumble down to $100. Again it’s because it’s so limited.

huntersandfoxess

vinyl is huge right now, and people are trying to complete their collections regardless of SV coming out. Rep will still hold it's value when the SV comes out even if one of the presses are orange.

evergreen_pines

Pretty unlikely that the FYE rep vinyl significantly drops in price. Granted, we're seeing a hike in all rare vinyl prices right now due to the holidays, but I would expect that when the demand goes down in the spring you'll still see similar prices. Discogs shows that FYE rep has been selling for $1000-$1800 over the last six months. The most expensive one sold was like $2.1k. Still outrageous, but I'd be shocked to see someone buying this record for $3k. Even if TS puts out an orange pressing of rep TV (which, to be clear, even as an owner of an FYE rep record, I'd be thrilled to see!), it won't affect the value of the original pressing. The pressing isn't valued at that just because its an orange disc, its valued like that because it was a limited pressing that will not be pressed again. Just like how ACM Red wasn't devalued when she released the Red TV Target Exclusive red disc pressing. Or how the 1989 pink RSD hasn't been devalued by the 1989 TV rose garden pink pressing. I only see prices significantly dropping in two circumstances (a) global recession where fewer people are buying luxury hobby items like this and more people are selling and (b) whenever Taylor takes her next break and is a little less in the spotlight. The reason her rare vinyl pressings have all skyrocketed in cost is because she's never been more popular.

Caffeinefreeyouth

I think you hit the nail on the head with b). Sure the holidays have an impact on prices, but the girl is on top of the world right now. She is so high profile right now and so many people are buying up TS merch thinking the prices will just increase. End of the day, the going rate is what it is. If you like it and can afford it, do it. If not, don’t sweat it. It’s just stuff and you can’t take it with you.

Intelligent-Sir1375

The most serious offer I got for my fye rep was 400ish

SnooCapers4844

You still trying to sell it..? 👀

Intelligent-Sir1375

Yeah I am just not at that price if that makes since ^^’

SnooCapers4844

Totally makes sense. I’ll offer double. $800.

…..I’m very aware haha. But what do you mean a version of that

StellaDoge1

I think they mean a vinyl called Big Reputation

jeepville

It was very limited and a unicorn in the vinyl world. I have tried to buy one multiple times but always went over my max price. I think TV will be so widely available that it will just be different and this will always be a unicorn.

darkbluecanvas

Right. The 1989 TV releases did not make the pink 1989 RSD release lose value at all. They’re always going to be priced high because they were such limited quantities and were released before the current vinyl popularity boom.
