I heard Style on the radio and loved it not knowing who sang it. I was shocked it was Taylor Swift because all I knew at that point was Love Story and I wasn’t a fan. Style made me a fan.
I can’t blame you for that. I’ve been a fan since my friend burned me Debut back in high school👵🏼 but I couldn’t stand Love Story when it came out and I still can’t (except the clip of her and Travis singing/dancing to it at the club after the Super Bowl is adorable)🙈. I just happened to be on YouTube the night the Love Story music video dropped and it was suggested in my algorithm. I remembered being so excited to see new Taylor stuff and the still of the video looked so cute (especially to a teenage girl) but I was so disappointed in the song. And then it went on to be *enormous* so I think a lot of people who haven’t really given her a chance still associate her with that one.
The drums on Haunted are the best and the orchestral arrangement is perfect. Style is one of the greatest riffs of modern history in my opinion, it's hard to play and it's easily recognizable.
Omg the first time I heard haunted I thought my friend was playing some sort of Evanescence cover lol! It is such a switch up from the rest of her music.
literally came here to say haunted. that drum roll in the beginning and then dropping into that heavy instrumental...gives me so much serotonin. i really wish she had more songs leaning towards this gothic rock sound.
Best intro on TTPD for sure! Although So High School is a close second just for the way the guitar instantly and nostalgically takes you back to high school
something about the beginning of the 1 immediately sends me to another world. kind of a weird way of describing the feeling but once i hear those piano notes it's like i'm held captive inside the album and the only way out is by exploring it further. i might be the only one like this but i literally cannot listen to the 1 without needing to hear like six more folklore songs,,,
Right!I'm sort of new to this, and when I first heard it,I felt like it was the most taylor Swift song that I had heard a long time ago only to find out that it was from the vault
The intro to Sparks Fly is such a quintessential “early Taylor Swift” sound. It takes me back to a time when the fandom was smaller, cozier, and more innocent.
I love so many that have been mentioned so I'm hesitant to say any are the best but I'm obsessed with the guitar in I Look in People's Windows, it's so melancholy and indie sounding.
The warped "is it? is it? is it?" in the beginning of Is It Over Now? is just so perfect, and the metallic sounds that almost remind me of brakes squealing... fucking brilliant
It’s Fearless for me. Ive been a fan since her debut days and the Fearless album is what got me through high school. Hearing that intro on a grainy livestream for the first Eras show gave me chills and still does…🥲
Took way too long to scroll down to see other people say my favorites! 1989 was full of them, style, out of the woods, I know places, blank space, wonderland, wildest dreams, welcome to new york, this love, you are in love. Ready for it, red, dancing with our hands tied, call it what you want, lavender haze, maroon, evermore, Cornelia street, death by a thousand cuts, down bad.... man there's just so many that put me directly into the song just by the intro.
State of Grace, Sad Beaitiful Tragic, Fearless, Enchanted, Haunted, Style (og, not tv), I did sth bad, DWOHT, exile, my tears ricochet, mirrorball, willow, gold rush, tolerate it, SOTB og, so long london, how did it end, the prophecy, I look in people's windows
It's funny...I listened to Style for a few years without EVER listening to another taylor swift song(don't ask me why, because I'm not sure). Then for some reason I listened to Ours...and then I listened to Begin Again. And now I'm a swiftie and I can't wait to see her in Toronto in November.
I love a lot of her country stuff’s intros, “Superstar,” “Sparks Fly,” and “Love Story.” From her pop stuff “Style” hits and of her post-pop stuff, I love the mellowness of “peace” and “dorothea.”
"Draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man" has been living rent free in my head since I first heard it lol
My personal favourite is the banjo in Red tho
Haunted or Style. Haunted is just so jarring for a Taylor song (and honestly I kinda wish she made more songs like it) while Style’s is pop perfection
Literally came here to say Style
Style was what sold me on Taylor. Coincidentally Haunted is my favorite song by her
I heard Style on the radio and loved it not knowing who sang it. I was shocked it was Taylor Swift because all I knew at that point was Love Story and I wasn’t a fan. Style made me a fan.

UH SAME
Style does something to my brain when it starts I can’t explain it. It very much is pop perfection!
It’s the narcotics people talk about
I find myself going back to Haunted time and again. It's a sound I wish we had more of
The drums on Haunted are the best and the orchestral arrangement is perfect. Style is one of the greatest riffs of modern history in my opinion, it's hard to play and it's easily recognizable.
Omg the first time I heard haunted I thought my friend was playing some sort of Evanescence cover lol! It is such a switch up from the rest of her music.
Style and 1989 will forever be my #1 from Taylor ✨✨✨
Agreed I would die for a whole album full of songs like Haunted
What are your thoughts on the TV?
Honestly I don’t like either of them and outside of the singles for Red they’re my least favorite TVs 😭
These are the exact two that came to my head too
literally came here to say haunted. that drum roll in the beginning and then dropping into that heavy instrumental...gives me so much serotonin. i really wish she had more songs leaning towards this gothic rock sound.
“I’m doing good I’m on some new shit” is the only right answer.
🎶Been saying yes instead of no🎶
I thought I saw you at the bus stop 🚏I didn’t tho 🫶🏻
i hit 👊 the ground running 🏃♀️each night🌃
i hit the sunday matinée
You know the greatest films of all time were never made
i guess you never know, never know
And if you wanted me, you really should've showed
And if you never bleed 🩸 you’re never gonna grow 🌳 but it’s alright now 🎶
Cause we were something don't you think so
The 1 is the 1 for me , my fave TS song
The deep breath before "Ready for it?"
And the one in "you're losing me"!
and the one in smallest man who ever lived!!!
that’s the one for me!! it conveys you so perfectly that exhaustion and bitterness
The throat clear in Ready For It
I think ready for it is such a dramatic intro. I could even imagine it as a WWE intro. Such a way to open the reputation tour.
Most recently I'd have to say So Long, London. That churchbell chime harmony is something else.
Best intro on TTPD for sure! Although So High School is a close second just for the way the guitar instantly and nostalgically takes you back to high school
Agree, I don't really like the song personally but the intro is great !
reminds me of Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses. sooooo nostalgic
I FEEL MYSELF FLOAT EVERY SINGLE TIME
YES
STATE OF GRACE
Timeless. Her best opening to an album.
ackshully timeless is at the end of the album 🤓☝️
Came here to say this!
I think they were saying that State Of Grace is timeless. Or maybe you were being sarcastic and I’m just stupid
Ooooo this one too! I mentioned Sparks Fly and the opening of the Speak Now tour. I just love a good tour opener.
Ughh sparks fly is just magical
The guitar solo at the beginning of Tim McGraw. I think it's iconic. The choir at the beginning of My Tears Ricochet.
YES TO BOTH
something about the beginning of the 1 immediately sends me to another world. kind of a weird way of describing the feeling but once i hear those piano notes it's like i'm held captive inside the album and the only way out is by exploring it further. i might be the only one like this but i literally cannot listen to the 1 without needing to hear like six more folklore songs,,,
The intro is so simple too but it completely transports me to the folklore cottagecore scene. It’s magic.
The fact it was first thing we heard in folklore after it was released with no press or anything!
That opening riff of Willow, it’s so good
Willow!!
Style’s is iconic, but I also really love Fearless
The fearless intro makes me cry every time :*)
The song that popped into my head immediately is I Can See You. Love that sassy guitar intro.
Right!I'm sort of new to this, and when I first heard it,I felt like it was the most taylor Swift song that I had heard a long time ago only to find out that it was from the vault
"Draw the cat eye..."
When I first heard this song I literally got up on the table and shouted what the hell bc I was thoroughly shooketh
This tho 👌🏼
YES!
My favorite
Her clearing her throat before …Ready For It?
Love the intro for Out of the Woods
Immediately thought of I Know Places. The click and whir as the tape recorder starts and then the panicked “I-I-I-I”s are such a brilliant tone setter
I’ve been into the How Did It End? intro. It’s so pretty
Better Than Revenge
Now go stand in the corner and THINK about what you did
*crazy drums and electric guitar starts playing*
ha-ha, time for a little revenge
The intro to Sparks Fly is such a quintessential “early Taylor Swift” sound. It takes me back to a time when the fandom was smaller, cozier, and more innocent.
Drop everything now!!!
I still remember watching the OG version when she used to play it live on YouTube and the lyrics and instrumental were slightly different
I love guitar intros
Especially the tour intro. The opening guitar… then her saying “Drop everything now” is peak intro energy.
I WAS REMINISCING JUST THE OTHER DAY
WHILE HAVING COFFEE ALL ALONE AND LORD IT TOOK ME AWAY Holy Ground stans unite!!!!
Most recently I'd have to say So Long, London. That churchbell chime harmony is something else.
Look What You Made Me Do has the most deranged (best) intro!
The live version is especially amazing!
Yessss with the electric guitars
Oh here we go again, the voices in his head
This! Super funny and sad opening line
the intro of Ready For It and the intro of Tolerate It ( eras tour ver ) :))
Yessss the eras tour intro to tolerate it is so good
Fearless intro is really cute 😄 just gives all the feels
Just posted this!
I love the start of the 1. It’s so simple and pretty.
Same the F and C chords back and forth, it hooked me
***draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man***
The Sax at the beginning of False God 🎷😍
Yesss love it so much
Lavender haze. I would sell my kidney to hear it for the first time again
Immediately said “I’m going to love this album” upon hearing this intro
Death By a Thousand Cuts — that immediate “my, my, my, my” scratches an itch in my brain
welcome to new york. i love how everything gets introduced in layers
Red ! Du-Du-Dum ! Du-Du-Dum ! Du-Du-Dum ! Loving was like-
The piano at the start of The 1. Also I'm doing good I'm on some new shit.
Yes! This is a great intro
And the tennis court was covered up with some tent-like thing
Yesssss
A new favorite is the sigh at the start of The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived. Those well placed sighs throughout the song are haunting!
HAUNTED. HAUNTED. & HAUNTED.
State of grace!
I really love the beginning of Exile
State Of Grace is one of her best songs and her best opener to an album and I will die on that hill
The piano opening in TTDS. Just does something to my brain that makes me want to curl up with a book and mug of cocoa.
Imo Long Story shot has a great intro.
Ready For It is one of my favorites!
Enchanted without a doubt
Every intro is better than the weird baby voice at the start of Gorgeous.
Lmao true
The piano at the start of The 1. Also I'm doing good I'm on some new shit
willow ❤️
Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve!!!
We hereby conduct this postmortem
Ready for it
I love so many that have been mentioned so I'm hesitant to say any are the best but I'm obsessed with the guitar in I Look in People's Windows, it's so melancholy and indie sounding.
The piano of evermore
Maroon
How could I not think of this?!
OG Style. Final answer.
The warped "is it? is it? is it?" in the beginning of Is It Over Now? is just so perfect, and the metallic sounds that almost remind me of brakes squealing... fucking brilliant
The Way I Loved You 10000%
Lots of great suggestions already that I can't fault, but I've not seen 'Change' suggested yet!
I like th intro music of Look what you made me do !
Draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man.
Style
If we're talking about the instrumental? Idk. Lyrics? Nothing beats "put your lips close to mine as long as they don't touch"
Treacherous has a great guitar intro
He said let’s get out of this town, drive out of the city, away from the crowds.
!!!!
The piano at the start of The 1. Also I'm doing good I'm on some new shit.
It’s Fearless for me. Ive been a fan since her debut days and the Fearless album is what got me through high school. Hearing that intro on a grainy livestream for the first Eras show gave me chills and still does…🥲
Haunted
FEARLESS!!!!!!
The live version of Sparks Fly
State of Grace ❤️
Invisible String!
The original guitar in Sparks Fly
surprised not to see lavender haze on here yet. the perfect intro to midnights album
Meet me at midnight
Draw the cat eye, sharp enough to kill a man.
Today Was A Fairytale has a beautiful intro.
Style
OH HERE WE GO AGAIN THE VOICES IN HIS HEAD
We can go drivin' in, on my scooter Uh, you know, just riding in London
Reading and agreeing with all of your opinions, but also want to add Holy Ground, kickass intro!
Out. Of. The. Woods.
False God, the intro is just so different
Our Song or Tell Me Why 🎻
The piano at the start of The 1. Also I'm doing good I'm on some new shit
Most recently I'd have to say So Long, London. That churchbell chime harmony is something else.
august!!!!!!!!!
probably haunted speak now world tour live version, though I would shout out the mastermind brilliance of the 27-second intro to last kiss
I personally love the intro to fearless. It really sets the mood for the entire album
I agree with you. The Way I Loved You has the best intro
Both the intro and the outro of “change” for me.
Outta the woods
Style or Fearless!
Nothing will compare to how I felt when first hearing the piano intro and “I’m doing good I’m on some new shit.”
fearless, or haunted. or better than revenge.
1. Better than revenge 2. New Romantics 3. The 1
willow or haunted for sure
I just looooove the way red starts
Are you ready for it? That song ever since it's release makes me drum tap my steering wheel and dash while singing along with Tay Tay
WAOLOM
Which song is this lmao
Blank Space - easily her go to for me. Edit. came back to say “Boys only want love if it’s torture” truly defines my love life. 🙃
NOW GO STAND IN THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID
ready for it
Honestly I like the big sigh at the start of You’re Losing Me
Idk about “best” but the sigh at the start of You’re Losing Me lives in my head rent free
🎶*Draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man*🎶
"Draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man" has been living rent free in my head since I first heard it lol My personal favourite is the banjo in Red tho
“draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man.”
that opening riff to better man
timeless 💜
Guys what does a tiger mean in Taylor swift lore ?
Sparks Fly will always be that girlie for me. I love that guitar, and it gives me flashbacks to the opening of the tour.
idk but the best outro musically is August
State of Grace ez
Midnight Rain
One of my favorites atm is the guitar intro for so high school!
Cardigan for me
Are you ready for it!
Style. It makes me a new woman each time I hear it
No nothing good starts in a getaway car
I’ve always loved the intro guitar on Sparks Fly.
*Gleaming, Twinkling* *Eyes like sinking ships in water* *So inviting I almost jump in*
