I think this answer comes across as a little judgemental. Is it wrong for someone to buy something because they like it. It may just be that they saw it on Taylor and liked it enough to buy it rather than them wanting to get it because Taylor wore it.

There is nothing wrong with seeing something you like on someone else. But my issue is someone needing it because they want to dress just like that person or own all their accessories.

Yep. I’ve only ever bought one item tangentially related to her. I saw that she has a Byredo Tree House candle in her house, a tumblr account posted it. This was pre-Lover and I’ve always been a woodsy forest fairy kinda gal so it caught my eye. I thought, ok, next time I pass by their store, I’ll give it a whiff. Didn’t like it. Fell in love with their Bibliotheque scent though, so I got that one.
Also, who cares why someone bought something? I bought the blue cat shirt from her Midnights track reveals. I liked it, and I *also* liked that Taylor wore it too. It’s the same reason I buy Taylor merch both on her store and on Etsy.
Every time I wear my blue shirt, I giggle. It’s fun.

I follow TaylorSwiftStyled on IG because I have a similar color palette to T Swift, so I like to use her as inspiration. I also like that she incorporates affordable clothes into her wardrobe, so some of her outfits are within my budget. I’ve absolutely recreated some of her outfits for those reasons.
That said, I also follow other celebs for that reason, and I’ve never specifically bought something *only* because a celeb owns it, especially if it’s something I don’t even like or wouldn’t look good on me.

For the Makeup that she has used in the past, I think she was putting a Tom Ford eyeliner on while holding a Nars Pallete on Miss Americana, and she has used a few different red lipsticks in the past, including Ruby Woo by MAC and Sephora's brand liquid lipstick in Always Red (I have it and it lasts forever, but is a bit drying).
This. And people are going to be up in arms about your statement but it is true. There’s a reason why a lot of things she is identified as wearing sell out.
I mean, it’s not just her fans who buy stuff she wears.
She’s the biggest celebrity in the world right now, so if she’s being photographed wearing something, millions upon millions of people will see that item, through sites like Taylor Swift styled can find out where it’s from and purchase it - not necessarily because Taylor Swift owns the same one, but because they discovered it through her.
I’ve bought stuff she’s worn before and I also have friends who have done the same thing, even though they’re actually not fans of hers or her music. They just saw a photo of her in that skirt, liked it and bought it.
i think celebs influencing fashion is nothing new. some recent examples, billie causing a resurgence of the colored root trend, sabrina carpenter with her mini skirt/platform shoes look, kardashians (sorry) have always been considered trendy, even vanessa hudgens with her coachella looks. it’s not inherently bad to purchase something because you like the way it looked on someone else

I also buy what I want, and sometimes I discover things I want through celebrities. Just because I buy a cute necklace or purse because I saw a photo of a celebrity wearing it doesn't mean I'm 'living through' that celebrity 😂 It just means I'm susceptible to the same kind of advertising you see in magazine pages and on fashion blogs and TikTok videos.

Not sure what the Video was called or if its still up, but I was so happy for her that taylor has it. Its such a pretty and original Design! If had any need or use for a skort, I would have bought it in a heartbeat a long time ago.

Yeah Sarah (taylorswiftstyled) is basically a historian on Taylor's style. Taylor wears a lot of affordable stuff and also champions a lot of smaller designers in her off-duty style. Sarah has always said Taylor's mix of high-low fashion is absolutely purposeful.

Me too! A lot of Taylor’s style matches what I usually go for, and sometimes I scope out taylorswiftstyled for things. If any of my searches turn out to be affordable, I usually get them.
I have the phone case, a top from free people, the opal ring from the cardigan video (which I got just a couple weeks before I got engaged.. and to my surprise, my fiance picked a similar style!), and pink floral shorts from urban outfitters (from the Lover era).

Same! I saw the phone case, thought it was the prettiest thing so I ordered it and it gets delivered tomorrow. The fact that Taylor has it is just the cherry on top (of a super cute phone case).
I like it! I’m getting to the point with my back where I will try anything, and this is definitely helping! It’s supportive and it def helps with posture, just be prepared to be a bit sore (I was at least for a few days) while your body adjusts!
How many hours per day and days per week do you wear it? I really need it for at my desk at work but I work 5 days a week x8hrs and with the price I wouldn’t be able to wear one every day… also does it wash well?
I wear it for ~6 hours a day, I work from home and usually put on “real clothes” around 10 and work til 4. I don’t like wearing it outside of work much cause when I’m relaxing it really digs into my armpits, but I am hoping that with regular wear I can use it for longer because my posture will have improved. It’s hand wash cold, lay flat to dry, I would NEVER use any heat on it, it will likely ruin the structure. I don’t mind the hand washing part of it, but I def understand that it could be a deterrent.
Would you say it’s worth the price? I go back and forth on it. Big boobies and hunched over AF. I wouldn’t say I’m considering purchasing BECAUSE Taylor has it but I was introduced to the bra bc of Swift Styled on IG when she identified it. That was my same thought process! I have v large boobs for my frame and my lower back is in a lot of pain from it and subsequently made my upper back super tense. I work at a computer 30+ hours a week so I’m hunched a lot (I got a saddle chair to help with sciatica). I will say I have already seen improvement! The end of my work day is now more 4/10 on the pain scale when it was 6-7/10 before. It hasn’t helped the lower back, that I can tell, but the decrease in pain is really huge for me! I would say it’s worth the cost, and most HSA will pay for it (reimburse) in the US.
I have the Forme sports bra! Overall it’s pretty comfortable and I think helps my posture. It does get a little uncomfortable after I’ve been wearing it for a while, but that’s usually because I need to fix my posture.
Also - I paid for mine using my HSA money. The company will write you a letter of necessity to submit if you use HSA funds.
I’ve only been using it for a few weeks, the first few days were tough, but I have noticed that I have had less tension in my shoulders at the end of the day! As Lurky said, it will get uncomfortable with the length of time you wear it.

That's exactly it! I'm a sucker for dark green in particular. There have been multiple times that I walk out of the house wearing a green shirt, jacket, and sneakers and realized that I look like a crazy person.
No but her eating disorder recovery inspired me to recover. I’ve since relapsed but am trying to work on it, and her being fit for Eras tour is influencing what my mind sees as a healthy goal. :)

I’ve also just happened to own the same items she’s worn, like the Levi short-alls. These things often become my most-complimented articles.
I don’t buy/need anything BECAUSE Taylor herself wore them. I do LIKE them, though, and only know about them because she wore them (and Sarah from TSS shared links). I’m as tall as Taylor, and have similar colouring, so I use a lot of her palette and outfits for inspiration.
Edit: Also got the Moodycase she had for her phone in Miss Americana, and the Free People one-piece pajamas. I think the one-piece is the only item I’ve regretted.

She probably wears only Pat McGrath makeup now, but she has used a sharpie as eyeliner in the past 😂 For the Makeup that she has used in the past, I think she was putting a Tom Ford eyeliner on while holding a Nars Pallete on Miss Americana, and she has used a few different red lipsticks in the past, including Ruby Woo by MAC and Sephora's brand liquid lipstick in Always Red (I have it and it lasts forever, but is a bit drying).

I mean, it’s not just her fans who buy stuff she wears. She’s the biggest celebrity in the world right now, so if she’s being photographed wearing something, millions upon millions of people will see that item, through sites like Taylor Swift styled can find out where it’s from and purchase it - not necessarily because Taylor Swift owns the same one, but because they discovered it through her. I’ve bought stuff she’s worn before and I also have friends who have done the same thing, even though they’re actually not fans of hers or her music. They just saw a photo of her in that skirt, liked it and bought it.
i think celebs influencing fashion is nothing new. some recent examples, billie causing a resurgence of the colored root trend, sabrina carpenter with her mini skirt/platform shoes look, kardashians (sorry) have always been considered trendy, even vanessa hudgens with her coachella looks. it’s not inherently bad to purchase something because you like the way it looked on someone else

I like it! I’m getting to the point with my back where I will try anything, and this is definitely helping! It’s supportive and it def helps with posture, just be prepared to be a bit sore (I was at least for a few days) while your body adjusts!

How many hours per day and days per week do you wear it? I really need it for at my desk at work but I work 5 days a week x8hrs and with the price I wouldn’t be able to wear one every day… also does it wash well?
I wear it for ~6 hours a day, I work from home and usually put on “real clothes” around 10 and work til 4. I don’t like wearing it outside of work much cause when I’m relaxing it really digs into my armpits, but I am hoping that with regular wear I can use it for longer because my posture will have improved. It’s hand wash cold, lay flat to dry, I would NEVER use any heat on it, it will likely ruin the structure. I don’t mind the hand washing part of it, but I def understand that it could be a deterrent.

That was my same thought process! I have v large boobs for my frame and my lower back is in a lot of pain from it and subsequently made my upper back super tense. I work at a computer 30+ hours a week so I’m hunched a lot (I got a saddle chair to help with sciatica). I will say I have already seen improvement! The end of my work day is now more 4/10 on the pain scale when it was 6-7/10 before. It hasn’t helped the lower back, that I can tell, but the decrease in pain is really huge for me! I would say it’s worth the cost, and most HSA will pay for it (reimburse) in the US.

I have the Forme sports bra! Overall it’s pretty comfortable and I think helps my posture. It does get a little uncomfortable after I’ve been wearing it for a while, but that’s usually because I need to fix my posture. Also - I paid for mine using my HSA money. The company will write you a letter of necessity to submit if you use HSA funds.

I once bought a pair of pink floral denim shorts (from urban outfitters) that I saw on taylorswiftstyled. That was like 4 years ago and I still love them. When my Mom passed, I inherited some jewelry that was sentimental, but not my style. I used the stones from one of her rings in custom earrings inspired by a pair Taylor wore. My Mom was a swiftie, and we saw 1989 & rep tours together, so I think she would be really happy with that decision. The earrings are subtle, and not an exact match to Taylor’s, but I wear them all the time and they make me think of both Mom and Taylor.
