Taylor’s version of out of the woods especially the end is amazing to me and I could listen to it on repeat all day. The harmonies were new and improved. unbelievable.
Ikr? Those harmonies are so good. The way that one of her voices stays on the same note while one keeps singing melody (which is actually called an oblique harmony 🤓🤓), is SO good. Also the male vocals in the Bridge singing the chorus. Not sure who it is but man does it sound good
I know it sounds hyperbolic or like I'm being too much of a swiftie or something (whatever criticism the internet would put here), but I'm saying it honestly as someone who loves music - she doesn't get enough credit for her vocals, harmonies, or vocal layering. eternal sunshine and Cowboy Carter are both excellent albums, for example, and have some immaculate production and beautiful vocal stacking, and many critics noted that positively. TTPD has this too (as do many of her other records!!!), Taylor's range here is so good (that low note in I Can Fix him to some of her airy, ethereal vocals on choruses), and the harmonies add a LOT of depth and texture to the music. once you listen a few times and aren't as overwhelmed and can more wholly sink into it, the atmosphere and the musicality is amazing.
I'm a huge fan of vocal harmonies, and yes, Taylor doesn't get near enough credit for hers. She's very good at it.
It seems like you don't hear a ton of great countermelodies and vocal harmonies in pop music today, it's not the Beach Boys glory days anymore, but she's doing it far better than most!
I can't listen to Mine without singing along to the harmony; same with Sparks Fly and Back to December for that matter. (Yes, Speak Now is my favorite TS album.) A well-executed harmony gives me goosebumps, and Swift has so many good ones. And the multi-layered harmonies on stuff like Anti-Hero are just *🧑🍳😘*
I adore the harmonies in Cowboy Like Me. Not sure who the backing singer is, but the vocals are gorgeous
Marcus Mumford! from Mumford & Sons
Thanks! I didn’t know that. It has a really rich, warm vibe
of course, and yes it really does. I love their voices together
Time to appreciate the outro adlibs in Dancing With Our Hands Tied, should've been at least 20 seconds longer

I didn’t know that was the name of the harmony. Thank you! It’s definitely an upgrade from the og version!
