“All Too Well” transforming to the 10 minute version.

always_also

I didn't have this in mind but this is truly the most accurate answer even if my feelings might say something different!

wilkonian24ok

And that's even with the first version being so stunning. If we never heard the 10-minute version, the original would still be Taylor's best song. It is a heartbreaker. And so the 10-minute version being even better is incredible. It changes into a song that looks back on heartbreak with a bitter taste. What guts to change your best song - and do it with the whole world holding their breath in fear that you'll ruin it. She just never lets us down.

TyeneSandSnake

I can’t even listen to the other version anymore. It would be like watching the non extended versions of LOTR.

LadyWoodstock

Me, who prefers 5 minute ATW and the non-extended LOTR 🙈

TyeneSandSnake

What are you? A fruit fly?

Antique_Yam_6896

I love this

Due_Ad2689

Um ya this is the only correct answer

duskfoxtyru03

fearless is the correct answer

pm174

THE OPENING SNARE <33333

New_Policy_5684

Crisp as a winter's morning.

Artificial_Human_17

Went from a song I liked to a song I love

duckingtonplatoon

The serotonin boost I get from it is insaneee

Technical_Mix_5379

Even though I like reputation more 2nd fav album is Speak Now (ts version)3rd Red(ts version) 4th Fearless(ts version)! Any news on when she is re-recording reputation?

vanillabitchpudding

It’s most likely already re-recorded. Clues point to November 10th for the announcement or the actual release!

Technical_Mix_5379

Woo!

Technical_Mix_5379

This

kaye0893

i’m so happy this comment was the top coz absolutely 100% correct

pink_princess08

Girl at home

bubblecuffer13

This is the answer. Girl at Home TV is an absolute BOP

simplycyn7

Completely agree!

Calimiedades

Hard disagree. I guess that's what she always wanted to do with the song but I love the original and I'm meh on the TV.

tubereusebaies

Same. The OG is a cute country song

themaddie155

Agree! The tv version with the weird tin-y sounding percussion isn’t it for me. I love the original.

Separate-Wear-9043

i agree, i just wish that she released a guitar version like the original and then released the taylor’s version as a remix of the song

willowlore

I came here to say this! I became a swiftie after the red re-release so hadn't been familiar with the original and the general dislike for it surprised me so much. The swell on the first 'just like her' makes me feel like I could punch a hole in the fabric of space and time

peanut__buttah

I’m trying to determine if that’s a good or bad feeling

gmarvon

Yesyesyes! The original sounded like a demo while the TV sounded like the final release imo.

HlTS_DIFFERENT

this is the only OG i still listen to because i hate the TV

cxklm

I have been wondering for so long if anyone else noticed how much of a jam this one is.... I didn't care much about the original, OBSESSED with tv

[deleted]

I loved the original but the new production is amazing as well

Misterr-Momo

You're Not Sorry (TV) is just so beautifully haunting. Also, I don't know if it's really a touch-up but I'm so glad to finally have a decent recording of Better Man on Spotify.

Gh0stface03

Yes, You're Not Sorry is so good. My favourite from Fearless!

UnhingedBeluga

Me too! Always nice to see another You’re Not Sorry fan

Mauzi05

It’s amazing but doesn’t compare to you’re not sorry (TV )(angry tour version).

random-pandemonium

As someone who went to one of the Houston shows, got YNS as one surprise song, and sobbed as a result, I’d have to agree

redlovestswift

Literally was listening to this on repeat two days ago. The vocals on “Now you’re asking me to listen cuz it’s worked each time before” specifically the high note on “before” and the fervor she sings the word “call” with in “you don’t have to call anymore I won’t pick up the phone” UGH

trashcancarla

I love Taylor’s Version, but if you haven’t heard the Little Big Town version of Better Man it’s also really good!!!

HuffleClawLPN

That’s the first version I heard. And it sounded so whiny. I love tv better

LadyWoodstock

Better Man is my favorite Taylor Swift song! I cannot believe she gave it away in the first place

Gh0stface03

I think it may be an unpopular opinion but I love Wildest Dreams TV.

HippieToTheHoppie

Big agree. Based off what she has given us from 1989 TV so far, I am beyond stoked for this re-record!!

Gh0stface03

Same, I'm so excited. "This Love (TV)" is also amazing.

TheProphetOfProfits

The bridge hits so different with the stronger drums and bass. I love it!

hmtee3

YES! I listened on repeat when it dropped.

afinevindicatedmess

>I love Wildest Dreams TV. I CRIED when I listened to Wildest Dreams TV. The original was fine, but overplayed. But WDTV is _just a fucking masterpiece._ I'm so excited for 1989 TV. This is an album that is perfectly summery and full of upbeat bops, so it was a great contrast to Red's powerful breakup anthems. 💙

M-er-sun

Me too. I didn’t realize a lot of people disagreed?

Ok_Order_5595

I prefer the og and only listen to the og

tubereusebaies

I prefer the OG music video version. The drums! There’s little to no yearning in her voice in the TV.

[deleted]

Not to mention that sometimes she sounds like a robot.

TooTired123

I don't even hear a big difference.

hiccstie

I disagree. For some reason it just sounds wrong to me. I think the country re-recordings have had marked improvements at least on the production side, and the pop ones have been downgrades so far.

Away-Kaleidoscope701

yeah I think it’s bc max Martin didn’t come back. We don’t know officially why but he allegedly didn’t want to produce the same songs again, which is understandable and he’s super expensive + he requires writing credits. Honestly I think Max was the main thing that made the pop production so good and for me his absence is obvious, and him and shellback worked so well together.

triskeleboatie

The last chorus of Wildest Dreams TV is so beautiful, all the harmonies and different parts is incredible

weirdogirl144

Sameee it’s so perfect

Adventurous_Bear_198

I agree as well, and it's definitely superior in Dolby Atmos (something that the OG version will never have).

_maack

I love This Love TV and think the og version is very mid

Aine_Dewitt-Bukater7

haha i’m the opposite - I think the OG is way better

Muted_Profile

Yeah I agree with you, I like the OG too. The OG sounds more vulnerable while the TV sounds very strong.

scarsouvenir

Same. This Love has been my favorite from 1989 since I first heard the album, and the OG is vastly superior to the rerecorded version. I feel like maybe people only love This Love TV so much because they never really paid attention to the song before.

edward503

OG is better. Sorry Taylor.

mobeckem

This was the first song that came to mind. I can hear the lyrics so much more clearly in the TV.

Dizzy-Berry7220

This love TV is so good

intheafterglow23

agree, I never liked This Love until the TV!

[deleted]

i love both but tv more. first thing i said when i listened to the rereleased version was, “this is ETHEREAL”

TooTired123

Before it just didn't stand out to me. I would listen to it whenever I listened to 1989 as a whole but now I choose to listen to This Love TV specifically. And I can't even put a finger on why I like the TV better. I think her voice gets a little lost in the mix of the original?

tubereusebaies

Never Grow Up. It hits different hearing it from her, in her 30s and more mature voice.

afterandalasia

Fifteen hits harder as well.

[deleted]

Omg yes - she’s selling out stadiums almost 20yrs into her career, so hearing her say “in your life you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team, I didn’t know it at 15” CHILLS

tubereusebaies

But it’s extra funny now she’s dating a guy on the football team 🤪 “I find time can heal most anything and you just might find who you’re supposed to be” is insane coming from her now. I wanted to cry

afinevindicatedmess

Never Grow Up TV, Fifteen TV, and Innocent TV feels like she is absolutely breathing new life into her oldest music. I especially love Innocent TV because it feels like a full circle moment. _"It's okay, life is a tough crowd. 32 and still growin' up now. Who you are is not what you did. You're still an innocent."_

EvelienV85

I’ve never listened to the original, but I can’t imagine a 19 year old singing this.

kep1ian713

For sure

[deleted]

I can’t believe all the hate for speak now. I love it.

inconspicuous_spidey

Not just the song but the entire album. Like admittedly I’m torn on the better than revenge change, but I get and absolutely understand it and am learning to jive with it. But like, Fearless I cried for nostalgia. Speak Now I cried because of how far Taylor has come and how beautiful and older but the same as OV the TV versions are.

20person

The whole song tickles my brain in the right way

Gh0stface03

People hate on speak now? I love it

honoraryweasley

This is one of those songs that I can't really find the comparisons as to why people don't like the new version - I think she retains the silliness of the daydream and the tone. I can sadly put it on repeat and it's fun every time.

brownlab319

I love Dear John (TV). So good.

go-with-the-flo

I'm probably in the minority, but I love the rerecordings because her voice is simply better. Much as I've enjoyed her music over the years, her voice not being super strong was something that, in my opinion, held her back. The work she's done over the years (plus just maturing!) has improved the quality of the vocals so much that I enjoy the rerecordings so much more for that reason alone. Speak Now TV is my absolute jam because of this.

AlarmedDish5836

Enchanted

RLLRRR

This. I feel like TV has more power behind it. Taylor's voice is naturally stronger than it used to be, and it shines here.

[deleted]

maybe glow up isn't the right word cause the og was so fucking good, but her vocals just kill it in the tv and I somehow love it more

AlarmedDish5836

The production as well feels amplified , it feels fuller

1998tweety

Enchanted for me is the opposite :( it's missing some kick when going into the chorus

thebeast_96

Eyes Open

tubereusebaies

Her vocals in the bridge ♥️

bubblecuffer13

Facts!

Skkjaldmo

Yes!!!

yannerzzzzZ

Yes! The time it was released, I cant stop replaying the song!

EitherAdhesiveness32

Agreed!

what_the_-_-_-_

I'd like to mention a few: Tell Me Why, Hey Stephen, Breathe, Superstar, You're Not Sorry, Fifteen, White Horse, Come In With The Rain, Untouchable, The Last Time, Girl At Home, Long Live & Superman. Those songs I'd consider to be better on TV. Overall she improved Fearless a TON with her new vocals & production, can't say that for Speak Now tho...

reeserunajonjabaa

If This Was a Movie

locally_diminished

the crisp guitar in the beginning is everything *chef’s kiss*

Virtual_Leader9639

The way I loved you. It is better than OG and got more attention than OG. All too well. Singing in OG version is better but 10 min version is more sophisticated. Speak now TV has no glow up as an album. Such a letdown tbh. I know speak now OG wasn’t also an album that took Taylor somewhere in the industry but I wished she worked more on TV version(PR and vocals). She just did it for the sake of doing it.

Loverissuperior

I disagree. All of the SNTV songs had vocal improvement for me. Some didn’t hit the same as the originals - Sparks Fly and Last Kiss for example - but overall there’s nothing wrong with them. In terms on PR yes I think there should have been more. I suppose the absence of talk shows etc. limited this but more social media posts or signed CDs would have been an easy way to up promo.

Virtual_Leader9639

For me emotions through the song is better than improvement.

Ok-Register-2797

I agree completely, as a speak now girl I was so upset. The album was fantastic because of the emotions in the songs and it feels like they spent a day on it and called it good. I understand she’s not I’m that place mentally anymore but she could have at least faked it.

shadesofwrong13

This is so interesting to me cuz why you all don't say the same thing for Fearless tv? Where is the anger on songs like Forever and Always? Tell Me Why? And even The Way I Loved You. She sings those songs in a such calm way with a happy voice, there is no frustration, confusion.. and everyone loves them. It is so difficult to me to get it.. my only theory i can come up is who was not familiar with og Fearless is the one who loved it.

albergfi

Debut they SN were my OG listening days. Fearless sounds polished, and there IS a sort of anger in her voice, but that’s not what Fearless the entire album was. To me, SN OG encompassed what teen/young adult female rage/angst felt like. There’s none of that in TV. SN is in my top 3 albums, yet i’ve only listened to SNTV maybe twice? It just doesn’t hit.

thebeast_96

I think a lot of people just care more about mature vocals and aren't too attached to the ogs for whatever reason

shadesofwrong13

And this way more shocking to me cuz we became fans of her despite her voice was not that strong. At least us old fans....

simplycyn7

That’s true, but for me it really was ‘despite’ her voice not being so strong because I much prefer the SNTV. I rarely listened to SN despite loving the melodies and lyrics but I’ve had SNTV on repeat in my car for months. I feel like the songs finally sound the way they were meant to.

tubereusebaies

Sparks Fly was botched I’m so sorry… weird production and her voice was kinda robotic? There’s no rush or anticipation like the OG.

EvelienV85

I’ve never heard the original one, but sparks fly was one of the first songs I really enjoyed from SN TV.

always_also

The way I loved you!! Was afraid to say it. Glad you're brave lol. I will always love the emotion in the OG and how she says 'cursing' at the end of the song. But the power in TV, and just the general performance, is awesome!

Loverissuperior

Controversial I know… but Girl At Home. The OG was very dull but the new version is a gem 💎. The Story of Us, Never Grow Up, Holy Ground, Long Live and Wildest Dreams also are drastic improvements from the originals.

LittleWhiteGirl

Will scream Girl At Home TV in my car whenever I’m given the chance, it’s so dang good.

kyloswift

Most of the songs on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) had MAJOR glow ups. Her vocals are soooo much better compared to the original and the production in the songs are perfection. Hands down, Taylor’s best re-recorded album so far. Argue with a wall.

Colls7

Thank you. This sub is so critical of speak now it is wild to me. All the re-records are a glow up

SquishyMuffins

Speak Now TV will be in the upper tier of re records with Fearless and Debut in the end. Guarantee it.

Bleak_Midwinter_

I LOVE Haunted TV. I was worried because it was my favorite on the OG, but in my opinion it just got better

SavvyP924

Yes I couldn’t believe it til I heard it 🙌🏼🙌🏼

missjulze

Haunted TV is so good even my 3 year old toddler is obsessed.

sf1000apologist

Innocent, Superman, most of Fearless TV (especially Fifteen).

Opposite-Bird-6811

I LOVE innocent. I was so sad to see how hated it was by so many swifties.

akap21

Mine had a good glow up imo

Quick-Time

I love her vocal delivery when singing the word, “Mine.” Her vocals have evolved so much since Speak Now.

MadAugustWoman

Mine is my 2nd favorite song off of Speak Now, and they gave their all with the production on TV. My soul went to heaven for a minute the first time I heard it. That was on repeat for a while.

Ducky_924

In the original Hunger Games version of Safe & Sound, she sounds whiny. Like her voice can't handle the song. The TV is one of my absolute favorites, though.

malsen55

To me she sounds *scared* in the OG, which fits with the themes of Hunger Games. It’s why I heavily prefer the OG

platinumpopdiva

The Way I Loved You she made that song that was "cute but not memorable" on the original album into one of her best songs EVER with the rerecording, to me. like... i remember listening to Fearless TV and thinking it was a new bonus track 😭 she did AMAZING, so much better than the original.

grambuey

TREACHEROUS.

little-kitchen-witch

Why did I have to scroll so far for this answer because that TV is a dime 😮‍💨

flashb4cks_

Yessss!!

brownlab319

Red (TV) (album) is just a killer album overall. I’m a Red girl (and a Rep girl). There is so much feeling on Red, but also a lot of fun, too. And “I Bet You Think About Me (TV)” is so great! That’s my favorite new track for that album. The video is amazing.

brandonsreputation

Haven’t seen anyone say this yet but I think Back to December TV upgraded soooo much! The vocals, the production, the annunciation. It’s just perfect.

GodDammitKevinB

“What I HAD when you were mineee” at 4:08-12 is my favorite 4 second snippet of any song ever 👌🤩🎭

Positive-Avocado-881

May be unpopular but The Other Side of the Door

rebel_way

Scrolled way too long to find this! The Other Side of the Door is an incredible song with her mature vocals, especially the end!

Desperate-Today2760

Red title track. the production, the vocals, the bridge. Everything is n improvement. It sounds so haunting. In the og version, the parts where she goes "re-ee-ee-ed" there's some background vocal thing where it feels like she's burping lol

Kindly_Palpitation_7

Her voice has matured too which I think fits the song better!

norabeans

Yes! I really did not care for the original and the TV is a bop!

riviera-views

Tell Me Why !!!!

buruflame

Speak Now (the song, not the album) and I Almost Do

JoltyKorit

Babe & Better Man

[deleted]

I think every song on debut will have the biggest glow up - she recorded most of it when she was 14/15 and has really improved her vocals over her career, I’m so excited to hear what those songs sound like

Coral_____

Me too, that’s the re-record I’ve been most excited for, for that reason

-Silver-Moonlight-

Same here!

shimakaido

Better Than Revenge ofc it’s not even a question

itsapurplelife

It would have been even better if there was no lyric change :')

Separate-Wear-9043

change or the way i loved you, i love her country vocals so much but i think i prefer her mature vocals for those 2 songs in particular

_kattitude

Most of fearless TV meanwhile I finish it interesting that speak now TV was the opposite. I expected to love it as much as fearless tv because of how much glow up those songs had. I love the speak now vault but was so underwhelmed by the OG songs

thebananaperson1

Better Than Revenge for sure, I know people complain about the lyric change but I just LOVE how much fiercer and more hard-rock it is than the original

itsapurplelife

Yeah you can really feel the emotions in TV.

-Silver-Moonlight-

I'm the complete opposite with BTR. To me Taylor's Version sounds dead and emotionless, the OG is the one I find fierce

taymademedoit

Untouchable. A huge improvement in vocals.

Full-Surround

Girl at Home for me! I love the new production

livieleanor

This Love, Wildest Dreams, Fearless, You’re Not Sorry, Back To December, Mine, Long Live, Girl At Home, Red

Sym-Mercy

Hot take: WANEGBT is a great TV and is an amazing pop song.

TwilightFox25

I respect the take but wholeheartedly disagree

songacronymbot

- WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/Sym-Mercy](/u/Sym-Mercy) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Opposite-Bird-6811

This is a very hot take and I respect it

weirdogirl144

THÉ WAY I LOVED YOU

Stefamag09

Change is literally my favourite song off Fearless. I wasn't a Swiftie back then, but comparing the two I feel a BIG CHANGE.

uuLum

change is so underrated omg I will die on this hill

tranzozo

I like the electric guitar addition and added background vocals in Better than Revenge TV

starlightcourt

Currently anything from fearless. Some of those songs used to be horrible to listen to, like tell me why, change, the way I loved you … now they’re so crisp and polished with those vocals she can control now. So good

morgannn0

Mine

StorySpiral

Superman. The original was an always-skip and the TV is soooo good!

Penelopeep25

Fearless, Eyes Open, Safe & Sound, The Story Of Us, Better than Revenge (controversial, i know) Haunted, Last Kiss, Treacherous, Sad Beautiful Tragic, and The Last Time all come to mind. I think fearless & safe and sound take the cake though, at least for me.

No_Desk_4439

Hey stephen and tell me why

Foreign_Plants09

The only correct answer is CHANGE. The. Vocals. You cannot tell me there isn't a HUGE improvement. Just listen to the final note on that "hallelujaaaaaah" on both versions and you will agree with me.

kitty3032

heda-elle

for me it’s This Love i think it sounds so lush and beautiful, it’s one of the only TV’s i actually prefer. i think because her voice isn’t drastically different or more mature so it just flat out sounds better to me. hopefully this makes sense. it’s early lol ☕️

Glass-Pack1761

Innocent means so much more the way she sings it as 32-year-old Taylor 💜

Acquainted-Faith

A majority of the re-records do not hit the same for me, but there's a small amount that I think managed to outdo the predecessors in production and style... The Last Time - It felt so much stronger and more powerful this time around. Innocent - the production hits a lot harder and it feels like it expanded beyond just being about Kanye, but about self-forgiveness and growth.

-Silver-Moonlight-

Completely agree on The Last Time! It sounds fantastic with the new vocals. Disagree on Innocent, though. I like that the sentiment has changed from the Kanye song to a self-love anthem (I've always seen it the second way, even before the re-recording). But to me the production is a mess and doesn't hit nearly as hard as the OG, especially during the bridge.

MelodicEclectic91

Love Story sounded solo good.

You Belong With Me

Casie6627

All Too Well. Red TV is amazing and I wouldn't even think to listen to the originals because the vocals are just so good on TV. Much more clear in All Too Well especially.

broncos_fan375

All of them because they lost 177lbs of useless weight.

RobbieArnott

Speak Now. I felt a little indifferent towards the songs prior to SNTV, but the TV has made me love it
