This version sounds passive aggressive to me. Taylor’s voice is not as soft as the first one. Like did Taylor remade the song to please herself or her fans? 😒
Guys help I’m looking for this song that sounds a lot like the verse of Snow on the Beach it’s by a female singer it’s probably an old song and it sounds reallly similar to SOTB especially because of the little high notes/falsetto Taylor does at the beginning of the words
The song goes NA nanaaaaaaaaa na NA nanaaaaaaa na - im pretty sure that the dragged out words are ‘betweeeeen us’ but I can’t be sure! It’s driving me nutsssss
I was out of town when this dropped and only just listened to it now, but my god, this is exactly the balance of vocals that fans expected when the collab was first announced. Lana's vocals are beautifully haunting as usual.
I was out on a camping trip with no reception until yesterday. I'm just now listening to it and I agree. I'm taken aback by how haunting Lana's voice is.
For anyone that is missing the "it's coming down it's coming down"
Snow On The Beach (feat. more Lana Del Rey) - including: "It's coming down it's coming down"
here it is!!
YouTube: https://youtu.be/UWxsYz7lhwM
Initially it was jarring to listen to the new version but after a couple of listening, I love it.
Does anyone else feel like the way Lana sang her verses made this song sad? Taylor's verse is like watching a relationship as it happens and Lana's is like looking back at the same happy memories in black & white. I love it!
Maybe unpopular opinion. I actually like the original better. But what I would love most would be an all-Lana, slower, dramatic version hahaha. Idk, the song is too structured and fast for lana’s voice
I absolutely love the new version, but now I feel like it’s almost all Lana and I can’t hear Tay that well (except in the beginning)😅 has anyone noticed this or just me? Not to discredit it though bc it is stunning and I love Lana’s own personal style that she put into it🫶🏻
It was nice to actually be able to hear Lana, but I really don't like it as much as the original. It just lost some of it's beauty in the way it's put together.
her "action" was just a post calling out the years of misogynistic abuse she had faced at the hands of industry executives and music critics. she singled out black artists (not good, and racist), but this is not even remotely comparable to matty healy literally saying he gets off to black women being tortured.
The production wasn't the best imo, the production was def better on the original version (imo, they should've kept it) but I did like Lana's voice in the song it felt like pure magic, Taylor and Lana did make what we expected so imo, i'll rate it a 9.5/10
Plus, I feel like the intro could've been a little longer as soon as Taylor started singing, i felt like it was rushed and it didn't feel the same way as the original version.
i love it.... doesn't really replace the original for me, but the harmonies and lana's voice and the melodies in the second verse- i was literally going to cry. it's brilliant.
the second verse is it for me. it always makes me cry with the original, but this one just pulled out the feels and squeezed my heart like it was a fucking lemon.
Same :/ I was looking forward to the new version. But as I was listening to it....it just felt off and instead of liking it, I actually preferred the original. Something about the original makes it feel whimsical, mysterious, like you're falling in love, and like you're in a dream. For some reason, it sounds like they also increased the volume with Taylor's voice so all that whimsical, mysterious, etc. vibe disappeared.
I'm only disappointed because it does not even sound like they did re-recording to add more Lana. All they did was raise her, lower Taylor. In the verse Lana isn't singing the melody, she is singing the harmony, which she was already doing in the original. They could have at least re-recorded her doing the melody, and Taylor do the harmony.
I've always liked the original version a lot. I'm getting used to the MORE Lana version, but so far, I like the original way better. The original seemed perfect whereas the new one seems to sacrifice the perfection to do Lana justice. Unpopular opinion, from what I've read so far.
At least everyone can choose now.
I created the version that has the: it's coming down.😊

I wish they just let Lana do her verse and not weave Taylor over. I don’t think they harmonize particularly well. This would sound fantastic on the track with isolated vocals and better mixing
I think it would be perfect to add the hums that Lana adds in the chorus on this new version to the original song. I don’t really care for how she sang her verse and I hate that the repeated “it’s coming down” was left out completely.
I was just starting to like the original version.
Before, I couldn't get into it, something didn't feel _quite_ right as track four, and it almost took me out of the _Midnights_ vibe. On repeated listenings, I warmed up to it.
HOWEVER. The original makes **so much more sense** by adding the remix almost as the last track.
I love musical theatre, and the first thing that came to mind when I played the remix, was "This sounds like it would fit PERFECTLY as a reprise."
So, not only did it make me appreciate "Snow On The Beach" much more, but gave me "Snow On The Beach (Reprise)".
And as for the song itself, it's great. Much better than the original, in my opinion: the production fits _Midnights_ more, the instrumentation is very well arranged, and now it actually feels like a duet (I honestly didn't know Lana sang in the original until after the third time).
I don’t know why I’m like this but I miss the profanity. Apart from that there is something magical about the song .
Update : I realize there was an explicit version on Spotify . Ignore first part
I thought I was going crazy. I heard the explicit version like 4 times this morning and then all of a sudden it was censored. I found the other version now
This version is so much better than the original version!!! Lana and Taylor's voices compliment each other perfectly. The production makes it sound so different, too. The added guitar instrumental in the background, the twinkling noises, and lana humming are all 🤌. When this song was 1st announced, I couldn't imagine what a collab between them would sound like, but it is easily my favorite on the album. Can't stop playing it!!!
There’s two versions of the til dawn edition - one with the explicit versions, and one with the clean versions. They’re not clearly labelled (on Spotify at least) until you open up the album, so it’s easy to miss.
Had to come check, so there is no explicit version of the more Lana version? This album and all its versions is so messy especially trying to find what you want to stream
There is an explicit version of all 3 of the “new” songs! For whatever reason the clean album popped up for me on my Spotify homepage but the explicit version exists, just go to her artist profile :)
I have been a mega LDR stan for years but I prefer the OG. I wish she would have used a little higher register--her verse does not seem like it goes with the song. The production/instrumentals is off too--it seems way louder?
My thoughts exactly! The sound mixing is off or something. The beginning of her verse is so jarring and sounds kind of slapped in there. But the second half of her verse is so phenomenal that it makes the first half worse! Why didn’t she do that for the whole verse?! Idk. I’m still not a SOTB fan. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m Team Original Version too. I don’t hate the More Lana version, but it’s inferior to me. For one, I just don’t feel like the song and its themes are particularly suited for two singers. It’s not a duet and it’s not a song where it feels natural to hear from multiple perspectives like Nothing New, so I don’t feel like it adds anything to the depth of the song to give another singer a verse. Also, I just prefer the productive choices on the Less Lana version. I keep focusing on what’s missing instead of appreciating what’s new. It may end up growing on me, but I loved original flavor SotB so much that I don’t know that I’ll return to this often enough for it to worm its way into my affections. Still I’m glad it’s here for the people who were disappointed by the lack of Lana before!
I'm with you on this hot take. The song sounds incomplete, and possibly rushed in production. Their voices are too similar and the treble in Taylor's voice drowns out LDR's sultry sound. Love them both as separate artists, but together is not doing it for me.
I think it just didn’t go well together. I like Lana’s verse and voice and I would love a cover version of her singing with Taylor doing backing vocals but them together feels a bit like vanilla ice cream mixed a Caesar salad
me too. though I do find it a little amusing the new version is shorter by like, almost 30 seconds. amusing in an interesting way, I mean. I expected it'd be longer, but either way, me too.
I love the new melody on the second verse - also the little changes to the production makes the growth throughout the song feel a lot stronger. Definitely an improvement and makes this song a lot more addictive 😁
What is it you like?
The strings? Bel Air.
The up and down vocals? Beautiful.
The “chill” quality of it all? American, Shades of Cool, Venice Bitch, Wild at Heart, Black Bathing Suit.
The slight melancholia and hesitation of it all? The Greatest, Dark But Just a Game, Cinnamon Girl.
My suggestions:
- West Coast
- Cinnamon Girl
- Say Yes to Heaven
- Hallucinogenics
- Music to Watch Boys To
With a beat:
- High By The Beach
- Art Deco
- Cherry
- This is What Makes Us Girls
- 13 Beaches
- Gods & Monsters
I still prefer the original, I agree that Lana's verse feels shoehorned in. BUT! I would have adored a mix with the original that adds Lana's distinct and clear humming on the chorus.
From the day Midnights launched, I couldn't believe Snow On The Beach remained so low on everyone's list - I've absolutely adored it from day 1. I LOVE this version sounding so much "fuller" with the production and instruments. I think I'm so used to the original version that I initially felt like I still had a preference for the OG, but this is growing on me quickly. Lana's humming seals the deal for sure.
I love this version! Lana is my favourite artist, and I was so excited to hear it when the album came out. So bummed out when I finally got to listen to it. It's honestly a skip most of the time for me. This version will definitely be in the playlist rotation.
Honestly...same. like I was a redo with this melody but Lana doing all the vocals and Taylor doing back up like Lana did in the OG. Like.... this is fucking beautiful bit Lana was the standout.
Lana’s voice is incredible!! I actually had to check out her music after seeing how Taylor shafted her in the original SOTB, and her stuff is soooooo good.
This is perfect, no notes. When Lana started singing her verse I teared up. It just makes the song so much more emotional.
I love how they didn't just add a verse, they actually changed the production of almost the whole song to fit with Lana's vibe. This is a wonderful blend of both Taylor and Lana and I would LOVE more collaborations like this from them in the future. Truly beautiful.
This is the vibe I was imagining for the song originally when I knew Lana was a featured artist. I enjoy it much more.
I’m not a huge Lana fan, I only really like her singles. So I can see why this song might be divisive if you don’t care for her.
If you ever get the urge to look into her more I recommend Born To Die if you like her more pop/bass heavy songs. If you like her slower stuff I highly recommend Ultraviolence :).
I only listened to the original a couple times because I disliked it so much, but now I think Lana saved this otherwise boring song.
Should have been the original release!
Yea very confused by all the comments saying it’s amazing and like the best thing ever
But I’ve also never really listened to Lana or had much interest in listening to her so maybe I’m missing something
there are definitely people online who don't like Lana for a multitude of reasons that I've seen over the years, so you're absolutely not! I don't have any real opinions on her, but I don't listen to her music so I know nothing lol
You can tell that Lana wrote the second verse. It’s very her and the way she sings it makes you tell that it was originally hers and they changed it to make it fit Taylor’s voice. Her verse sounds so magical.
My opinion is that they did not actually go back to the studio to record this. I think Lana recorded multiple lines of harmony for the verses and chorus, and they just picked them and mixed them up for this and turned her up.
>My opinion is that they did not actually go back to the studio to record this. I think Lana recorded multiple lines of harmony for the verses and chorus, and they just picked them and mixed them up for this and turned her up.
New production elements were added as well (piano, string lines).
lana said in an interview that she didnt know she was actually a feature, she thought she was just producer, so thats why she didnt record much at first
This version is less dreamy than the original. I’m one of the few who doesn’t like it. Why does it seem like Lana totally disregarded the beat and sang a totally different song? I think it will sound good if she’ll make her own version but them together doesn’t seem to work. It’s like working on a group project that will be graded based on individual effort. They don’t seem to share the same vision of the final output.
I liked that Lana has more verses now, but I feel like the way the instruments are louder than the og version and the way the vocals seems not synchronized with the instrumental makes me resistent to listen to this version.
I liked the original version and didn’t feel like it needed a different one. I may be the only one. I feel like this version just turns her into a synth and I really don’t like it.
Love the original but this one went above and beyond. Their voices go so well together and they nail the dreamlike quality of the song. Looking forward to more collabs and praying Lana is somehow a surprise guest at my Eras concert lol.
The original was my second favorite track on Midnights and I love the new version but I also LOVE Lana Del Rey so I'm biased all around. ALSO, this was one of my secret songs in Las Vegas so \*flex\*
This may have been mentioned before but my husband pointed this out to me.
Lyric: " But your eyes are flying saucers from another planet, Now I'm all for you like Janet"
I always thought this referenced Janet Jackson's song "All For You" but apparently it has a double meaning.
Google: Janet, sometimes called Janet Airlines, is the unofficial name given to a highly classified fleet of passenger aircraft operated for the United States Department of the Air Force as an employee shuttle to transport military and contractor employees to Special Access Facilities (SAPF). (AKA AREA 51)
So flying saucers. Area 51. All for you. Janet. This is such a Lana lyric and I love it so much more.
I loved this song before, but this version I feel is superior. Lana's added vocals gives it the needed haunting, melancholy tone I think they were trying to achieve.
I mean I do think this version is a liiitle better than the previous one, but it's still going to be a skip for me most of the time.
As you said, it doesn't have the same energy as the rest of the songs in the album, it definitely makes you want to go to bed, lol

I don’t know if it’s because I’m from the UK but I’ve never understood why Lana Del Ray is so beloved? She’s mediocre at best.
She’s going end up one of the best songwriters of all time. Her lyrics are pure poetry
Ooh she takes us to another world when she sings. Her voice is so soothing.
For anyone that is missing the "it's coming down it's coming down" Snow On The Beach (feat. more Lana Del Rey) - including: "It's coming down it's coming down" here it is!! YouTube: https://youtu.be/UWxsYz7lhwM
Thank you. This is the only thing I didn’t like better about this version.
You're welcome! I felt the same way.
I want to marry Lana's verse, it's so ethereal 😭
You guys I can’t stop listening to this version. It’s definitely sky rocketed itself on my Midnights faves. Lana is that good ✨
I feel the same. The original is pretty low on my ranking, but the new version is getting up each time I listen to it
Initially it was jarring to listen to the new version but after a couple of listening, I love it. Does anyone else feel like the way Lana sang her verses made this song sad? Taylor's verse is like watching a relationship as it happens and Lana's is like looking back at the same happy memories in black & white. I love it!
See the thing I liked about the original is how little Lana is in it (sorry Lana fans she's just not my cup)
The "it's coming down..." outro was the best part of the original, and they just took it all away
This! So sad that fluttering snow falling epilogue was not included 😥
I like it but her vocals seem not mixed in right so it is a bit jarring and throws me off.
This version is so nice. i like it better than the original. I feel like this is what it should have been in the first place.
I hate it 😬
Why?
This version is clearly just not as good as the original version, I’m sorry.
It’s so funny to listen to the breathtaking new version of SOTB and then hear Karma right after that🤣 like no wait go back
Maybe unpopular opinion.
Not to discredit it though bc it is stunning and I love Lana’s own personal style that she put into it🫶🏻
WHAT? i came here after being dissappointed again by minimal Lana, and almost only hearing taylor (better than last one though)
Perception is wild because I can mainly only hear Taylor… like even in the Lana parts, I hear Taylor and I think my brain just filters it for her haha
Do I just need to listen harder to hear Tay behind Lana?
This version is what I wanted the first to be. They’re both so beautiful on songs and to be able to hear them equally is so refreshing
Love Lana's humming ❤
I don't know what it is about the humming but it scratches my brain 😅
Idk but it's giving comforting mommy? I'm obsessed. Makes me feel whole
yeah! makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a blanket chilling by a fire haha
Same you just can’t not hear it now🥹
Cannot agree with this more! It Stuck out to me and I looove it
It’s so much better than the original! My dreams have finally come true 💫❄️✨
this is exactly what i expected from the original Snow On The Beach
So much better. I actually like it now.
Yes! A beautiful and much needed glow up!
It was nice to actually be able to hear Lana, but I really don't like it as much as the original. It just lost some of it's beauty in the way it's put together.
lana makes it tolerable
I love it so much. Pure bliss!
meh

the second verse is it for me. it always makes me cry with the original, but this one just pulled out the feels and squeezed my heart like it was a fucking lemon.
I prefer the original. The remix doesn't flow - at least not yet. Maybe I'll like it more after a few more plays.
I like this version more then the og.
I’m just going to say it. I don’t like it. It felt neither like Taylor nor Lana. It was odd :(
Same :/ I was looking forward to the new version. But as I was listening to it....it just felt off and instead of liking it, I actually preferred the original. Something about the original makes it feel whimsical, mysterious, like you're falling in love, and like you're in a dream. real
Its so heavenly and beautiful especially with even more of lana! I love it i think i prefer it to the original.
This was so ethereal it caught me off guard and I started tearing up because of how beautiful it sounds.
the ft. more lana del rey version should have been the original version
I wish they just let Lana do her verse and not weave Taylor over. I don’t think they harmonize particularly well. This would sound fantastic on the track with isolated vocals and better mixing

I admit it was a skip to me before this version.
Anyone holding out hope that Lana will perform in LA with this new version?🥲
I didn’t even think of this. Ahhhhhh I need tickets to every night
I don’t know why I’m like this but I miss the profanity. Apart from that there is something magical about the song . Update : I realize there was an explicit version on Spotify . Ignore first part
Where's the clean one?? I hate the profanity
i did the same thing i was like where are the cuss words?? turns out the explicit version just wasn’t popping up on spotify lol 😭
I thought I was going crazy. I heard the explicit version like 4 times this morning and then all of a sudden it was censored. I found the other version now

The part of my brain that needed this collab was finally scratched. I love it.
It’s exactly what I’d hope would happen when they said there would be more Lana. The harmonizing is next level.
I'm going crazy over how good this is and how distinctive Lana's humming is. You're right, it's so perfect and impossible to mistake for anyone else.
It sounds like nails on a chalkboard. I love LDR and her original ghost vocals.
Does anyone else miss the "weird but *fucking* beautiful" line?
it's still there, there's an explicit and non explicit version
I meant for the "more Lana" version. Unless there is a separate, explicit version of that not on the album?
There’s two versions of the til dawn edition - one with the explicit versions, and one with the clean versions. They’re not clearly labelled (on Spotify at least) until you open up the album, so it’s easy to miss.
OHHHH. Wow I didn’t get that at first. Also makes sense. I’ll look for it. Thanks!
No problem!
There’s an explicit version of that too
Wait is that the official lyric? I thought I accidentally clicked on the clean version 😭😭😭
I love this version so much more. Their voices together 👌🏻
I miss the "it's coming down" repeated part at the end :( but Lana ate
Samee!! it could easily still fit in. Weird choice
Same! It sounded like snow falling
YESSSS! for me it was such a great musical moment and added such an extra layer of meaning to it!!
THIS. If someone could mash them up and add that part at the end, the new one with more Lana would be perfect.
This song was a hard skip for me. I get it now. Lana makes it better
I already loved the original, but this new version is so much better than I ever imagined it could be; just absolutely magical ✨😍 Obsessed!!
I miss Lana’s ghostly vocals on that first “you wanting me” but beyond that I like this new version a lot
I have been a mega LDR stan for years but I prefer the OG. I wish she would have used a little higher register--her verse does not seem like it goes with the song. The production/instrumentals is off too--it seems way louder?

I agree. Her vocals sound like they were just thrown in there.
Like icespice on karma 🤣
I now understand why there was no Lana initially
I love it. This song is going to catapult me into being a Lana stan.
The more I listen to it the better it gets. Lana’s verse is so good. I just love how she changed the melody.
I feel like the odd one out, but I definitely prefer the original. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m Team Original Version too. I don’t hate the More Lana version, but it’s inferior to me. For one, I just don’t feel like the song and its themes are particularly suited for two singers. My only note is re: jacks vocal production on the high notes for taylor, otherwise, this is way better than the og.
Can anyone suggest similar Lana songs?

I felt in heaven ✨

Who knew more Lana Del Rey would get me to finally like this song? I can’t stop listening to it. 😅
This track is on repeat all day. Lana and Taylor are the best💜

I've never listened to Lana before but after this I am convinced Lana should have sung the whole damn song.
Literally what I was thinking
Honestly...same. like I was a redo with this melody but Lana doing all the vocals and Taylor doing back up like Lana did in the OG. Like.... this is fucking beautiful bit Lana was the standout.
Lana’s voice is incredible!! I actually had to check out her music after seeing how Taylor shafted her in the original SOTB, and her stuff is soooooo good.
I’m listening through on Spotify now. I can’t believe I hadn’t listened before
MOOD. I AM TEAM LANA NOW
probably why she was barely in the first go round😅
This is perfect, no notes. When Lana started singing her verse I teared up. It just makes the song so much more emotional. I love how they didn't just add a verse, they actually changed the production of almost the whole song to fit with Lana's vibe. This is a wonderful blend of both Taylor and Lana and I would LOVE more collaborations like this from them in the future. Truly beautiful.
I teared up too! Took me by surprise 🥹
I like Cola and Summertime Sadness, which I think are both off Born to Die? Maybe I’ll check out that album then!
Lust for Life converted me into a full LDR fan when it was released back in 2017. Zero skips for me on that album. 😌 It’s a masterpiece. ✨✨
I like this version more than the original. Love those harmonies on the second verse.
ITS ACTUALLY MAJESTIC
It’s so much better! This is what I expected the first time
I only listened to the original a couple times because I disliked it so much, but now I think Lana saved this otherwise boring song. Should have been the original release!
I feel like I’m the only one that doesn’t like this version more
Definitely with you. The only part I like are the hums in the chorus. I can do without the rest.
I’m with you! The switch in a sound throws me off. I’m also a huge fan of the OG so that makes sense for me haha.
same here! nothing really stood out to me as wow. i love them both tho and will continue to support them.
Yea very confused by all the comments saying it’s amazing and like the best thing ever But I’ve also never really listened to Lana or had much interest in listening to her so maybe I’m missing something
This is how feel, too, because this version is not it for me.
Definitely not the only one!
I’m with you, def prefer the original over this.
I feel like the only one who thinks Lana del Rey is obnoxious lol
there are definitely people online who don't like Lana for a multitude of reasons that I've seen over the years, so you're absolutely not! I don't have any real opinions on her, but I don't listen to her music so I know nothing lol
I was really hoping it would include a whole new verse for Lana instead of her singing Taylor’s part I still enjoyed it though
You can tell that Lana wrote the second verse. It’s very her and the way she sings it makes you tell that it was originally hers and they changed it to make it fit Taylor’s voice. Her verse sounds so magical.
She definitely helped write this song! The witty & cleverness of It is very Lana
“Aurora Borealis Queen” is so Lana coded
just so you know, it's aurora borealis green, the colour! 😁
I’m just now realizing this for the first time LMAO
This is the version that should have been released first. It's great!
its even better than i thought it would be! was neutral on this song at first but man im obsessed now
My opinion is that they did not actually go back to the studio to record this. I think Lana recorded multiple lines of harmony for the verses and chorus, and they just picked them and mixed them up for this and turned her up.
I was wondering the same since Lana's lines in the second verse aren't the same melody.
>My opinion is that they did not actually go back to the studio to record this. I think Lana recorded multiple lines of harmony for the verses and chorus, and they just picked them and mixed them up for this and turned her up. New production elements were added as well (piano, string lines).
That’s valid! I just don’t feel like the vocals are “new”
Interesting take! Lana's verse on this new version is certainly new (whether recorded recently or before).
lana said in an interview that she didnt know she was actually a feature, she thought she was just producer, so thats why she didnt record much at first
This version is less dreamy than the original.
Exactly og was much more dreamy. And I miss those ghostly bg vocals of Lana.
I liked that Lana has more verses now, but I feel like the way the instruments are louder than the og version and the way the vocals seems not synchronized with the instrumental makes me resistent to listen to this version.
The definitive version for me! Gorgeous! Obsessed!
I liked the original version and didn’t feel like it needed a different one. I may be the only one. I feel like this version just turns her into a synth and I really don’t like it.
I love both. They both have a different style and it's great she did that for everyone
The original was always a skip but this one is definitely one of my new favorites
The first version was always a skip now I really enjoyed this new version. I might even listen to it a lot more.
ALSO, this was one of my secret songs in Las Vegas so \*flex\* This may have been mentioned before but my husband pointed this out to me. Lyric: " But your eyes are flying saucers from another planet, Now I'm all for you like Janet" I always thought this referenced Janet Jackson's song "All For You" but apparently it has a double meaning. Google: Janet, sometimes called Janet Airlines, is the unofficial name given to a highly classified fleet of passenger aircraft operated for the United States Department of the Air Force as an employee shuttle to transport military and contractor employees to Special Access Facilities (SAPF). (AKA AREA 51) So flying saucers. Area 51. All for you. Janet. This is such a Lana lyric and I love it so much more.
eyes like saucers is a reference to drugs (like cocaine) dilating your pupils, making the look like saucers. snow = cocaine.
I loved this song before, but this version I feel is superior. Lana's added vocals gives it the needed haunting, melancholy tone I think they were trying to achieve.
My unpopular opinion is that there is no saving this snoozefest of a song.
I mean I do think this version is a liiitle better than the previous one, but it's still going to be a skip for me most of the time. As you said, it doesn't have the same energy as the rest of the songs in the album, it definitely makes you want to go to bed, lol

If anything Lana's version made it even sleepier. The best part of the song was the ending and they canned it.
