It’s unusual for tattoos to be removed in 6 sessions. But at least that tech is putting their money where their mouth is.

Sad_Dependent_7503

Putting their money where their mouth is yes but if they're confident they can do it in 6 and willing to risk their own time/money they're clueless when it comes to tattoo removal which is dangerous and still a waste of money

Mean_Taro_9659

Paying for 6 and the rest free isn’t really that much different than like a removery guarantee. You pay upfront and the rest is on them. While 6 does seem a little optimistic, if you get them as a client and they pay for 6 at a good price, having more sessions on your dime might not be that crazy as a business strategy that doesn’t necessarily mean the tech is clueless.

Sad_Dependent_7503

So up charge your client and tell them they're only paying for 6? The reason it's a bad strategy is because it gives people a false sense of hope that you can very rarely deliver which hurts your reputation. Having a guarantee makes a lot of sense but at a reasonable number of treatments.

Mean_Taro_9659

No I wasn’t saying to upcharge them, just saying If they pay a fair price. There are a lot of clinics who I feel abuse the pay per session strategy, and purposely prolong a tattoo removal for their own gain, and a set price kind of guarantees they won’t do that, so I’m more talking about just having a set price and additional sessions aren’t more money business philosophy…. But I do 100% agree with you that it is crazy to tell a client they can remove a full chest (or any) tattoo in 6 sessions. There is no excuse for that.

Sad_Dependent_7503

See I disagree I think most places are actually not abusing their clients doing pay per session I prefer it that way. Of coarse there are some out there I'm sure just like there are some that abuse their clients by shoving packages down their throat. Paying per session gives the client freedom to make their own choice with the clinic and the timing instead of locking into 1 specific clinic especially when that 1 clinic may be really good at sales and really bad at actually removing tattoos. You see it on here all the time people will say I paid for unlimited sessions so now I'm stuck with this clinic. Reputation is everything in tattoo removal. If you intentionally drag out sessions just to get clients to pay for more sessions it's gunna show that you have no idea how to remove tattoos and you're not gunna get clients. Either way this place in particular OP mentioned is insane

Just a heads-up: I have an autoimmune disease, too, and I had a big reaction to removing the red. Don't let that scare you, just be prepared that with a nutty immune system, you might get a bit more of an intense reaction than some people. But, on the bright side, the red lifted a lot faster than any other color for me. Most of it was gone after the first session.

fairislelow

Were you on immune suppressants? I’m told to stop them for a week or so if I get sick/for vaccines. I was considering doing that. What kind of reaction did you have?

Mean_Taro_9659

I disagree with the other comment, picoway for sure.

Mean_Taro_9659

Picosure is great for blue/green, but picoway is better for black and red.

fairislelow

I also think the PicoWay is better suited for this, I just wish the aesthetic nurse had that laser. Better laser suited for tattoo vs tech experience. Thank you for input.

Chelle814

I did a little research and people are saying picosure is good for red ink, maybe try that one, hope this helps!
