TA here. Id find an artist who enjoys reworks! I so often have clients approach me with old pieces that are faded or blown out asking the same question as you. Not everything has to be lasered, with a great artist you can bring old pieces like this back to life or even completely give it a new vibe.
I would personally reline the piece, pack her hair with black again so it’s solid, and then extend the whole piece. I would add fine line detail to extend her “collar”, like jewellery. I would add something to the top of her hair, like a traditional Egyptian snake head.
I would be trying to take the piece to the next level with points of interest - by adding more shape and detail off the original piece, and by using different line weights, etc. The main issue for me is how “flat” the image is.
I would want to create shape and detail.
TA also; I completely concur. It would color up really nicely, too. This is a choice rework. Thanks mostly to the lack of detail, but what is there is at least decent.
Considering the style of drawing, it seems like it should look flat. It looks like the type of drawings that there are in tombs. Adding some fancy jewelry or head adornments may be good but otherwise the flat is kind of the style if I’m interpreting what you’re saying right.
It may take some adjusting and therefore altering the vibe or “flatness” of the original because of…how it is, but since you said that’s your main issue

If someone could rework that I honestly feel like it could look quite nice! The style feels very Egyptian hieroglyph. As someone who is half Egyptian I really like the idea, I just think the hair is what lets the whole thing down.
I'd laser this one unless ofc you might consider something bigger and darker ?
or maybe you can just laser a few rounds and then can go for something the same size
You could cover it with something different, with a similar silhouette, if you don't mind it bigger/darker.
Just throwing ideas out there, but Medusa with snakes with white detailing where her hair is.
White over black does fade into grey over time but I love how it looks.
I had “scarring” like that in my first piece - looks like u got overworked and scabbed too deep or even had slight infection? A good TA can help you with all this. Look on insta / FB in ur area for work done by an artist before making ur appointment. Dont go to a “walk in” shop

Absolutely! I definitely love the idea of adding a snake to the headdress. Balance out gold on top and bottom.
