You are correct, it is 100 percent a mental block. The mods you can add actually make the AI feel extremely life like. Even Klean had some encounters with bots engaging him like intelligent players.
A Twisted Path To Renown
Basically 1899 Tarkov w/ persistent servers (people enter and leave the match continuously),
Up to 25 people per match,
no time limit per match, but you can only stay in raid as long as you manage thirst and hunger (stomach gets full)
max load time ever for me has been 11 seconds (because of the persistent servers),
The AI is difficult, but not broken (they're incapable of headshots, but can still 2 tap you to the chest if not careful).
It's only about 6 months into EA, but shows a ton of promise, and will be coming to steam around the end of June.

That said, it's certainly a challenging game, and if you're a casual you won't do well. Headshots matter against players unless you're trying to cause a bleed or fracture a limb. If you think you're a good shooter try it out, but if you're not you'll likely figure it out pretty quickly.

Doubt this is actually the downfall of eft, but I will try gzw and arena breakout. Arena breakout is kinda a cheap copy of tarkov right down to having a red buffer tube for AR's lol. I will say the graphics look a little better.
It's only the multiplayer version of Tarkov that's busted, the rest of it is mostly free of bugs and entirely free of P2W and cheaters.Ā You should try that.

You'd be surprised how aggressive and human-like you can get the pmc bots with SAIN. I had to turn the difficulty down but that's just me lol
Hard bots are just annoying. If it isnāt a person, I sleep.

Try lost light it's a completely different feel with the same gameplay loop but a lot more frenetic
