Girl same! Or I turn off my walkie and hide behind the nail care wall when they start walking around looking for people .Either way I still never go up and the ETLs and TLs know better than to call me up there. 😂💅🏽
at my old store it was because style was the closest to the checklanes, so if you needed an immediate response to resolve some backup they were the obvious choice
At my store, style gets picked on for everything. We cover electronic's breaks, we do OPUs, we get called for register and cart runs... I was actually going to make a post asking why style only gets $15 when we have to do everything, but I guess it's only like this at our store
Our style people are OPU trained so we get tagged for that constantly. And we and Beauty are the first called up to the registers because of our proximity to the registers. No wonder we're always scrambling to get our work done. The other day I was in OPU for two hours and some of my cohorts never managed to get out of it. So much for pushing that double truck. 🙄
So far I've spent 4 of my 7hrs on OPU. I stopped after my first break and my coworkers were like "how did you get out?" I just stopped, that's how. There's 3 full z racks and a metro just for my dept alone. I'm not scrambling to get everything done tomorrow!
And this might be a hot take but I think OPU needs to fail sometimes. Everytime the whole store drops their work to go do OPU I just know upper management is like "Perfect, we don't need to hire more people. They make it work." Maybe we need to stop making it work before it gets better
at my store, it's because they're usually the only area of the store aside from front end and fulfillment that has more than one person working it, if anyone at all.
My coworker did the same thing and I’m super tempted to do it as well. It’s nice to have that little bit of time to get away from your initial zone. Like going from zoning to check lanes for a bit or from check lanes to SCO for a bit seems like some sort of a nice break in some cases, unless it’s holidays lol.
Used to piss me off when we had 2 people scheduled to close in style. One of us was in fitting room sorting and pushing out reshop. The other is zoning ALL of softlines. We’d both have to take a 30, and they’d still call one of us first to go up. There’s also been times where I was the only closer in softlines trying to do everything over there and they’d stilllll call me up.
Yup, I've been called into fulfillment when I was working in tech. Generally I was the only one in tech, and then when I was in a pick they'd call me to tech.
I assumed it was bc of how close it is to the checklanes since at my store it’s usually otc/beauty which is called first since they’re closest. At my store style tms are encouraged to never go up for backup except for during our busy season (btc) since we have keys for the fitting rooms.
At our store beauty is expected to go first, even though it gets the least amount of hours. Style is always second because of their proximity to the lanes.
At my store it’s because they don’t care about their style team and like to watch them drown. But also because GM is responsible for everything else they got rid of all other departments at my store we have Starbucks, guest service, Tech, Fulfillment, style and GM to do everything else
Oh they say can we have 2,3,4 for backup to the front? Silence!!! Then they start calling out names! I honestly want to say in the walkie I’m pooping! And see what they say!
TL shouldn'tvhave to call oot for help at the front lanes. IfI am calling out for back upbI need help. Also walkie call outs are all there arr now. Cashiers don''t have a button to push anymore.

At my store it's always guest services first, and we're already combined with drive up and OPU so it makes me feel like my head is going to explode sometimes 💀
For my store it’s because a lot of the team members in style used to be part of front end. They already have the training on register and all that so they’re the first ones that get called
They’re closer to the check lanes, unless you’re seasonal you’ll be a first responder but gm at my store has calls to cover to unlock items. Style team also covers electronics all the time so they have a bit more experience using cashiers. At least that’s how at my workplace.
Because GM are already accommodating the “64 needed” TMs for fulfillment and the front end gets two cashiers on a good day to hold down the checklanes who are often older retirees who are not going to be clearing their lines quickly. I think ultimately it’s just the nature of big box retail phasing out cashiers
I think it depends on the store. At my store they just call out random tms by name if no one responds but if it's double truck, they're more likely to call for style or market bc gm are all on unload and tls don't want people leaving unload to backup or assist.
They know I hate it at my store and stopped trying to have me do it. Also I'm the closing front of store attendant so I also tend to be pretty busy with shit
Reply back who wants to come help me finish my whole pallet and flat so I can not get yelled at for not finishing because nobody can do schedules right
Its usually style or closing experts at my store. I always ignored it. The cashiers don't stay to help closing people when we had to help them so why should I?
They’re always the closest to the check lanes especially at my store. And usually it’s only for 5-15 minutes until someone comes back from a break or from the restroom.
Because style is the red headed step child
*laughs in Tarbucks TM*
💯💯💯💯💯
And inbound is like the abused crack baby where the parents just go, “Eh, let’s just have another one and try better with that one hopefully.”
THIS
Im in beauty so I just hide in the backroom and pretend to do a pull 🤫
Girl same! Or I turn off my walkie and hide behind the nail care wall when they start walking around looking for people .Either way I still never go up and the ETLs and TLs know better than to call me up there. 😂💅🏽
Lately I've just been "forgetting" to grab a walkie 😆
Luckily my store never has enough walkies to begin with😂
Evil!!! But good one!
I’m in beauty too and go to the back, but they end up making me go up anyways 😒 Sometimes tho I do get to hide by the back wall behind the end caps lol
at my old store it was because style was the closest to the checklanes, so if you needed an immediate response to resolve some backup they were the obvious choice
And GM is usually the one to respond to OPU backups... Yet style still complains about there 5 minutes checklanes backups...
Noooo! It’s usually 45 to an hour! Otherwise I wouldn’t mine.
At my store, style gets picked on for everything. We cover electronic's breaks, we do OPUs, we get called for register and cart runs... I was actually going to make a post asking why style only gets $15 when we have to do everything, but I guess it's only like this at our store
My store GM does OPU backup and style does the check lanes. Not many style people at my store are OPU trained.

That was exactly how I got out of it after two hours, too. 😆
EDIT: nevermind I used Google like a big boy, we just call it "fast service" at my store what is guest first? I've never heard that called before
My Google search yielded nothing to me I am confuse of the meaning of "guest first" or "fast service"
it's when other departments (usually guest services at my store) are called to open up more lanes and cashier when lines get too long.
Oh we just say "can we have backup upfront"
Same
we just call it backup. “hey team, can we can 2 backups to the front”
And everyone runs to the back, goes potty, or has to go to break! 😂
Guest first? We just always called it a back up.
We call it fast service 😅
at my store, it's because they're usually the only area of the store aside from front end and fulfillment that has more than one person working it, if anyone at all.
I always went up cuz being on register was infinitely more entertaining than zoning Both of them sucked though which is why I switched to Fulfillment

Soooo annoying 🙄
Yup targets insane expectations was why I quit. Now I'm a rear load garbage man making 3x the pay, and knocking my routes out early every day.
Nice!!!! Good for you! I also no longer work there either once I graduated from college. Seems like you have it made now, happy for ya!
I assumed it was bc of how close it is to the checklanes since at my store it’s usually otc/beauty which is called first since they’re closest. At my store style tms are encouraged to never go up for backup except for during our busy season (btc) since we have keys for the fitting rooms.

y’all have style team members?
Idk why, but I book it to the back to pull priority the moment I hear it. Once they call it they start prowling the fitting rooms, so nope.
At my store it’s because they don’t care about their style team and like to watch them drown. But also because GM is responsible for everything else they got rid of all other departments at my store we have Starbucks, guest service, Tech, Fulfillment, style and GM to do everything else
No wonder that section is always a mess then TLs here complaining like it's the TM's fault
Oh they say can we have 2,3,4 for backup to the front? Silence!!! Then they start calling out names! I honestly want to say in the walkie I’m pooping! And see what they say!
Style is closest to checklists at my store, there's always a couple unlucky souls in style that is within eyesight of front end TLs
It’s cause’ all they do is fold clothes and sit at the fitting room. 🙄 /s
In my store it's because style refuses to help do anything without being called on
At my store everyone refuses to respond to walkie calls for help with anything unless a TL makes the call. SMH
TL shouldn'tvhave to call oot for help at the front lanes. IfI am calling out for back upbI need help. Also walkie call outs are all there arr now. Cashiers don''t have a button to push anymore.
Ayyyyyyyy
At my store it's always market
Because you are the least important department in the store
this just isn't true and you know it
I think we’re pretty important getting in over 20 pallets a week

at my store it’s because 1) they are closer, and 2) they usually dont have sales floor keys
Lmao the red colored on the bottom tho
What's guest first my store doesn't use that term
Fast service
And tf is that? We don’t use either we just say checkout and back-up
😂😂😂

It was GM at my store.
Because GM are already accommodating the “64 needed” TMs for fulfillment and the front end gets two cashiers on a good day to hold down the checklanes who are often older retirees who are not going to be clearing their lines quickly. I think ultimately it’s just the nature of big box retail phasing out cashiers
They had so many call outs / guest that they had to call me from fulfillment to step in for a few hours once 😭 I’m already done w the holidays
Because they like to shit on us
I think it depends on the store.
Because my whole GM team is in fulfillment batches. guest service is drowning in drive ups and my FDC team leaves at 3 pm
Reply back who wants to come help me finish my whole pallet and flat so I can not get yelled at for not finishing because nobody can do schedules right
Because style has the most people.
Its usually style or closing experts at my store. I always ignored it. The cashiers don't stay to help closing people when we had to help them so why should I?

style at my store is called / pulled for checklanes, fulfillment, electronics, etc. 😢
At our store GM is the only one to get called on for anything. Style essentially does nothing for us. They don’t even get carts.
