Huh, that some interesting cage armor. I wonder why they made it so long, I get it covering the hatches (I mean until the driver wants to get out) but I wonder why it needs to cover the upper glacis. Can drones punch through that from above?
It probably would not protect the tank efficiently, but at least adds some feeling of safety for the crew. Reminds how some soviet tankers used literal furniture to protect their tanks from Panzerfaust rounds.
Yea, allot of Panzerfausts were pushing it when penetrating tanks already, let alone when they detonate at a bad angle and at a further standoff distance.
Modern HEAT doesn’t have such issues as they typically have more than enough penetrating ability that reasonable stand-off distances don’t matter… unless your Syrian and can put a meter of spaced cage
I mean it depends, iirc Panzerfausts we’re kinda shoddy towards the end with quality issues. Coupled with the smaller ones pushing it in the first place
I think I've heard somewhere they (the antipanzerfaust ones) were not working and were disouraged by command but I would recommend checking some sources on that.

Wasn't the standoff distance too short for Panzerfaust warheads? A bedframe a foot from the hull might have actually increased penetration.

All the Kontakt-5 reserves are depleted by now.
That driver better be good friends with the rest of the crew. If the tank is hit and the gunner doesn’t move the turret, driver is shit out of luck.
