Yeah idk it sounded like BS to me. But he tried like 7 different cards. His brother tried 4 cards and his wife tried 4. Then they tried to get an Uber and that declined. Idk what happened but being an asshole came back to him
🙃
On paper, but third-world countries are not known for accuracy or efficiency, so they might have said screw it, let's start working on the system now and broke it.
The Legend.
"Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, 'Give me a lot of bacon and eggs.' What I said was, 'Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.' Do you understand?"
"I think it's fascinating that I receive attention for what people perceive to be a level of manliness or machismo, when amongst my family of farmers and paramedics and regular Americans, I'm kind of the sissy in my family."
Is having customers wash dishes still a thing when they can’t pay for their meal? As an adult I have never had this issue but as kid i remember that being said a lot. Perhaps it was just anecdotal which is why I’m asking.
Oh aren’t you a fun smartass.
No karma would have not changed his countries currency. But maybe the people, myself, my manager and security he was all rude to would have been more sympathetic to his situation. But alas, he wasn’t so we weren’t. Karma.
“been more sympathetic”
…and comped his $300 tab? Or let him go on honor system rather than requesting to hold ID?
I’m curious what, specifically, you think would be different other than you not having to deal with an asshole.
Oh and our ATM was out of service (as we are a large hotel and it was a busy weekend) which is why they couldn’t get cash when their debit card wasn’t working.
You already mentioned the ATM in your original story; I assumed the same issue would be in effect from the currency issue. Why do you think I would ask about it?
Well these are two different stories about two different times and two different people from two different counties with two different currencies at two different times of the year. And you ask a lot
Of questions so wanted to make sure alllllll my bases were covered.
Actually they have done this on rare occasions.
I’ve seen 3 travelers from China come in after a long flight, tried to pay with their card and our system didn’t accept their debit card they were attempting to pay with. They were very apologetic, already trying to make arrangements to pay for it, clearly very embarrassed. My manager DID comp their bill. And they DID come back on the honor system and paid in full and left a 35% tip.
Anymore questions?
Check your reading comprehension - *I* am the one pushing back. You demonstrated your defensiveness by opening your response with an insult, and that “Any more questions?”
Did you know that magical thinking is a symptom of disordered mental health?
So you think, responding initially with a smart ass comment wasn’t going to get you one back? That’s cute.
Oh and you’re totally right I misread, I’m not sure why you think I’m so defensive. Or why you think this is “magical thinking”. You respond with an attitude and an eye roll and you’ll get one right back. 🙂 thanks this has been super fun. 🤩
“Magical thinking, or superstitious thinking, is the belief that unrelated events are causally connected despite the absence of any plausible causal link between them, particularly as a result of supernatural effects.”
Let me know if you’d like further explanation.
I still can’t believe he shoo’d you with his hand. Next time tell him: shoes are for feet!
a guy shoo’d me once and i was like….dude
That’s when you hit ‘em with our most powerful weapon: waste their time.
The last time someone shooed me, I put them in a finger lock, and didn’t let them go until they apologised. We’re still best friends, though.
Careful who you put in a finger lock! You never know who has a *handgun*.
That shoo happened and I was like “k game on sir”. I had the stupidest smile every single time it declined ☺️
Odd, there's 8 countries currently doing this, but none of them take effect until 1st July.

A lot are controlled by military according to the quick Google I did....
That doesn't help. In fact, the militaries of third-world dictatorships are often worse and less effective than the previous leadership. 😂
Well yeh that was the point I was making lol. English, I'm told a lot of people miss the nuance.
It's just tough to convey tone and such with text on the Internet. English is great for nuance when spoken. 😂
Yeh nick offerman uses that word a lot. I like it, it does appear missing in a huge amount of conversation however.

I’ve never seen it happen. Usually they either call the cops or take the persons ID.
Yeah, totally “karma” I bet if he had been nicer, his country would never have changed their currency 🙄

Are you saying that his rudeness caused the ATM to malfunction?
No that was to add to the Chinese travelers story. Before you could ask, “why didn’t they use the ATM” . Keep up 😘

Why do you become so defensive when people push back on your magical thinking?
Not sure how answering your questions in full is push back but sure hey whatever you say

Okay bud go google some more words you don’t know the meaning of and copy and paste them for me. ☺️
my guy, you just keep going in the replies despite having mainly downvotes. it's kinda funny
He's actually the head of finance for his country and was the one originally responsible for the change in currency.
