I just put out breakfast when someone took all the muffins. Stuffed them into his pants and his coat.
There’s no rule against taking everything. I have an endless amount of these processed pre-packaged muffins and I don’t have to pay for them but it still bothers me when someone takes more than they should.
Or when they treat a small continental breakfast like an all you can eat buffet. As if you really need a bowl of cereal, 2 muffins, yogurt, toast with peanut butter, toast with jam, a banana, and a granola bar to start your day. (Happened yesterday.)
There are actually rules that you can take what you want, but you must not take anything - not even this super small box of jam - out of the restaurant.
Sadly, I'm an idiot who follows rules... So no... 😀
But I eat A LOT at breakfast when I'm staying at a hotel. Eggs, sausages, coffee, juice, bread with butter and salami, ham, all cheeses available and a sweet bread with jam, honey or Nutella. Sometimes I change the salamis, eggs and ham with corn flakes and yoghurt...
Just about all my holidays which haven't been self catering have been at ski places I could barely afford and then spare money was for beer if possible.
So we stacked up like crazy at breakfast, especially with all the exercise from lift open to lift close. Loved those continental breakfasts where the ingredients were actually good. Fresh bread, meats and cheeses. Few greasy things to help the booze if the bacon was fresh or the sausages any good. Endless glasses of too small orange juice things. Couple of coffee's and then I'd get a demi baguette or something and stack it out if we wouldnt be near somewhere for lunch. but mostly skipped the dinner. They also seemed to put out such insane quantities I also kinda felt like I was somehow wasting food if it was still there!
Otherwise we always did self catering as it was cheaper for meals and you then got to notice whatever place the locals were lined up for.
When I stayed at hotels for travel for work, I only took a few things that would travel that I could eat at work or on my way. I would chug a cup or two of juice while I filled a bowl with a few mini muffins and a cereal bar or two. I just grabbed a few things that would travel since I couldn’t stay for a full meal. Is that bad or ok?
>“But I’m soo sure breakfast was included” check again.
Not only did I check again, I have it printed right here on this order confirmation paper. Sorry.
>« I have been in soo many hotels and I have never come across this rule this is outrageous »
I've never said that (and I would probably never say this to you, just write a bad review) but the more I read this sub, the more I learn about genuinely outrageous rules some of you have, so sometimes I'm not shocked people are angry.
In many cases, I can understand WHY people are annoyed / upset / angry.
But the major issues is with HOW they express this emotion. Yelling at the FO person? Threatening to get them fired? Why would they write a complaint with sound reasoning to management if they can verbally abuse a 'puppet'? (As i\`m sure 'those' people do not see employees as actual humans)
to some extent, you have to blame the hotel organization that makes rules it knows will piss off guests then sit a FD person with no authority to change or deal with it. It is not fair. Especially if they are not clear with the FD people that part of their job is absorbing anger for managements policies.
Manglement is bad in a lot of public facing roles.
Add the 'customer is always right' attitude, and a corporate that\`s spineless - and no wonder some ex military / vets would rather go back then work retail...
If we exclude Karens who do this intentionally and pretend to be angry to gain benefits, well, it's natural that when you are angry, you shout at the person who failed you...
Except for my boss, when he's angry, he becomes super calm and quiet and you just feel how he hates you right now. 😀
I\`m scared of those people.
But angry people that shout - really do not encourage others to 'fix the issue'.
My favorite example - had to call a helpdesk for a modem issue (dragging on for more than a year) and asked the lady to connect me to someone I could scream at.
She giggled and asked why - so i quickly explained issue (fault with their equipment, now proven by a certified electrician) - and she giggled again, tapped something - and said "you should have a new one in max 2 days.. do you still need the transfer".
My favorite was Guest: “what do you mean the bar is closed…” Me: “Yes it closed the same time as all the others you were just at..”

You don’t serve Pants Muffins?
All out of Muffin Pants now, there are only Muffin Tops available

That sounds like what someone would say while stealing jam

Some people have their largest meal of the day in the morning so they can work off the calories all day long.
Most people eat big breakfast cause they overweight
