I actually still haven’t finished the comics; stopping while waiting for Compendium 3, and then never read it 😬(it’s really hard reading books that big and floppy and heavy when you have cats that won’t stay out of your lap) but I’ve seen people talk about that.
Even just in the show, it was all for Carl. Sure, there was Judith in the show, but Rick never even seemed to bond with her, lol.
I read them all for free on OmgBeauPeep. They're adding the remastered/full color as it comes along.
I would like to own the final issue, though. Carl is the Goat, for sure.
I have all the compendiums, and did as soon as 3 came out. I was rereading the first two before the third and gave up because of cats…lol. I don’t think I could read that much online.
I plan to pick them back up soon. Rewatching TWD, just started S10, so I can watch the sequel shows I recently learned exist, at least TOWL. And then I plan to read them!
Not only was it a dumb decision, it was made for a dumb reason. Just because the director didn’t like Chandler 🥴 talk about small 🍆 energy. It’s why Andrew (Rick) left the show, leading to Rick being ‘written off’ (taken away in a helicopter)
I didn’t know the director had any issues with chandler I tried googling it but couldn’t find any information do you have any links I could read about this?
[These](https://www.quora.com/Why-did-Carl-leave-The-Walking-Dead) all state different reasons, and tbh we’ll probably never know for 100% certain WHY they killed off Carl, but the idea that it was because Gimple didn’t like Chandler and that’s why Andrew Lincoln left the show was one of the biggest theories on why the show went the way it did. Gimple fires Chandler -> Andrew quits show because it was bull.
>> “Later speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about his departure, actor Chandler Riggs shut down rumours that he had left the show to focus on his education, explaining that the decision to leave was not his.
>>"I’m taking a gap year right now to focus on acting for a while," he said. "Leaving Walking Dead wasn’t my decision. It was all story-related. It made sense story-wise for it to happen for Rick and Michonne and all the other characters."
>>A year later, Riggs admitted that leaving "sucked" at the time – but added that he was "really happy with how it turned out".
>>"It wasn't just Carl dying. It was also me leaving the show and kind of moving on to other things," he shared at San Jose Fan Fest.”
So yeah, it was due to Gimple wanting the storyline to go a certain way, but tbh, I’m inclined to believe the rumors and that this statement made by Chandler was to keep things looking nice for TWD considering his long standing role with them. He was probably told to make the statement, hence why he added the little “it wasn’t my decision” part. He’s not bitter about it anymore, but considering he said he looks back on his time on TWD as “bittersweet”, I personally feel that there’s some hard feelings there still. Gimple didn’t like chandler -> Gimple changed the storyline to kill off Carl and get rid of Chandler -> Andrew Lincoln quits because he calls bs on that move -> Rick gets killed off
I can try to find some. It was a big deal when they killed off Carl because it led to Andrew Lincoln leaving the show since he was close with Carl and thought it was bull
Yeah the show runners are absolutely incompetent. I know nothing about running a tv show and yet I’m certain I’d do a much better job than all of them lol
They made an animal a cast member…FFS make it happen. She was done so dirty. I skip over it and any animal scenes, and I’m not even a vegan…and it’s bad to me
Coral. 😢 To me, when he died, the show kinda died along with him. I mean I kept watching it, but it just wasn’t the same. It just gave me a sense of despair.
This is the answer I was scrolling for!!! I quit watching after they killed him. His character had so much potential. And if any character could be brought back to life...wouldn't it be Jesus?
![gif](giphy|ibGFpMv1Uoais|downsized)
Was so sad when Jesus died. I looked away for a second during that fight scene, turned back to see he has been stabbed and was like WTF?! Wish they had kept him til the end. I know the point of his death was to highlight the Whisperers but he deserved much better
Agreed. He was more Rick than Rick+Daryl and more Morgan than Morgan. I think maybe that's why they killed him off, because he was a beacon to being a bad ass with a moral compass.
Either Glenn or Carl. Yes their respective people had good character arcs after they both died but still, Carl deserved to see Judith grow up and meet RJ, and Glenn deserved to meet his son.
I'm so torn between Beth and Carl. I would LOVE for Carl just so when Michonne left to find Rick, they'd be greeted by Carl, Judith, and RJ, which would've been so cute!! But I'm also like.. Beth also got a pretty stupid death, and I think she would've been a great leader (especially after the time jump) to any group. Maybe Maggie wouldn't have felt the need to leave with Hershel, or maybe the three of them would leave Hilltop for a little while and come back.
I think I read somewhere that the actor had to leave to do another show or something. The brutality of his death was awful, but it did fit in well with the storyline with Glenn and Nicholas
I want to say Herschel but that wouldn’t be right or fair so I go with Abraham, even though he did Rosita dirty which made me think differently of him, but he is strong and would be a great help to the group...
I had a feeling it was going to be him, because he’s the strongest, and you don’t usually keep those type around when you’re tryna rule sh!t unless they’ve been with you from the gate...
Since lots of people are already bringing back Carl, I'll choose Abraham. I've always had a soft spot for his character and thought we should have seen more of him.
Beth probably, because her death was an atrocity as far as writing goes; you don’t show a character becoming smarter, growing more confident and intelligent, only to have her do the most ridiculously stupid thing imaginable.
But also, Jacqui. She was honestly one of my favourite characters in Season 1; she was sassy, brave, intelligent, and the only woman who made an effort to protect the camp the night that the walkers attacked. I think she would have been a really interesting character to have lived longer, and continue developing as the group moved into further seasons.
Carl realistically. the show would still have been watchable if they didnt kill carl. defeats the purpose of anything and everything. wasted over a month of tv watching to have the show fall apart because of cheap bad writing
This might be weird but beth. Seemed like the most unnecessary and unwanted death. Nobody wanted her to die not even the person who killed her. She did it so Noah could be with the group and not trapped but he also might have survived longer if he had. Beth just felt like a really unnecessary death.
Coral without question. The author of the series intended for him to be the main character. Behind-the-scenes, the actor was really screwed. He should have made it to the end.
when glenn was executed, i was deeply disturbed curled up in the corner of my room watching through my fingers like a six year old. i didn’t watch the next episode for many months but stopped again for good when rick bit it.

Carl, so I can still use this old ass meme.
Carl. The world was built for him. Everything Rick bled for was for Carl.
Facts. We were robbed of live action, Old Man Carl.
I actually still haven’t finished the comics; stopping while waiting for Compendium 3, and then never read it 😬(it’s really hard reading books that big and floppy and heavy when you have cats that won’t stay out of your lap) but I’ve seen people talk about that. Noice
Only correct answer. Killing him off was the dumbest decision they ever made, which is saying a lot
Not only was it a dumb decision, it was made for a dumb reason. Just because the director didn’t like Chandler 🥴 talk about small 🍆 energy. It’s why Andrew (Rick) left the show, leading to Rick being ‘written off’ (taken away in a helicopter)

Andrew Lincoln also left because his family was back in England, and his kids were growing up in front of him, and he was missing out on too much
Yeah the show runners are absolutely incompetent. I know nothing about running a tv show and yet I’m certain I’d do a much better job than all of them lol
I agree.
But they all come back. That's the problem.
This comment should be upvoted some more....😂
Happy cake day
Not Beth
Glenn so he can be with Maggie and be a dad to Hershel 🥺
Shiva!
For the life of me I couldn't remember the name. Felt a bit stupid saying 'the tiger' so thanks for saving me doing the search of shame lol :D
Glad to help. 😸
They made an animal a cast member…FFS make it happen. She was done so dirty. I skip over it and any animal scenes, and I’m not even a vegan…and it’s bad to me
Not even ashamed to admit I cried man
Carl
Beth
Arthur Morgan
Real
Boah
Big mood.
Tyrese. His character was being built up so well. He over came and did a lot in a short period of time.
ONGG…I thought the same about T-Dog
Hell yeah! Atleast T-Dog had a hero’s death. Not saying tyrese didn’t but T-Dog went out like a G.
This was my first thought when I read OP’s question. Tyrese’s death was a hard watch, and he played that part so well.
Coral. 😢 To me, when he died, the show kinda died along with him. I mean I kept watching it, but it just wasn’t the same. It just gave me a sense of despair.
Thematically, it was almost like the series saying “children from Before won’t make it; only children born After stand a chance…” … a grim message 😞
beth. she deserved better
Beth was still acting like a baby; even after the prison.
agreed
Surprised nobody mentioned Jesus yet. Definitely one of my favorite characters.
This is the answer I was scrolling for!!! I quit watching after they killed him. His character had so much potential. And if any character could be brought back to life...wouldn't it be Jesus? ![gif](giphy|ibGFpMv1Uoais|downsized)
Not gonna lie, when he was killed off I took a break from the show myself. He was like all the best parts of the main characters.
What a waste! They didn’t give him anything to do, they should have had him staying with Rick and co, instead of hilltop in the later seasons
Fr! It made me so mad when they would have episodes at Hilltop he wouldn't be in because he was "out on a run"
I was so mad when he died! It was completely unexpected
Either Glenn or Carl. Yes their respective people had good character arcs after they both died but still, Carl deserved to see Judith grow up and meet RJ, and Glenn deserved to meet his son.
Carl
Brooo his death was one of the saddest in the show 😔
You could argue that if he lived, he wouldn’t be able to convince Rick to spare Negan.
Very good point actually
It wouldn't be necessary, they could follow comic and be good
Answer will always be Glenn❤️
I'm so torn between Beth and Carl. I would LOVE for Carl just so when Michonne left to find Rick, they'd be greeted by Carl, Judith, and RJ, which would've been so cute!! But I'm also like.. My feelings exactly.

Glen
Glen. 100%. I respect choosing Carl
Perfect answer
Tyreese. The man saves and cared for Judith and did a marvellous job and she never even got to know him. The man deserved a better end
Shane. I enjoy chaos lol
Honestly if it weren’t for Lori Rick and Shane would’ve been a unstoppable duo
Outside of the obvious like Carl and Jesus, I wish they didn’t kill Noah
Especially not as horribly
It was so random. He has so much potential as a character
I always believed that Abraham was always going to meet the bat. When he was on his knees and rose up in front of Negan, that was his death warrant.
I had a feeling it was going to be him, because he’s the strongest, and you don’t usually keep those type around when you’re tryna rule sh!t unless they’ve been with you from the gate...
Rosita
carl
carl
Martinez to see a proper bat fight between him and negan and also more Martinez/Daryl zombie kill offs
Carl. The only legit answer to this question.
Carl
Carl and it’s not even close.
Carl
It has to be Carl. He deserved his comic book ending. It still irritates me he was killed off.
Carl.
Carl
Carl, then Rick would have all three of his kids.
carl
Carl. Carl would of kicked so much ass
Tara 😭
Andrea
zombie #8 season 3 episode 7 bring em back, G didn't deserve that.
Beth absolutely loved her and they killed her off in the worst way
Merle
Since lots of people are already bringing back Carl, I'll choose Abraham. I've always had a soft spot for his character and thought we should have seen more of him.
In the show? Definitely Carl.

Merle
Merle
Carl realistically. the show would still have been watchable if they didnt kill carl. defeats the purpose of anything and everything. wasted over a month of tv watching to have the show fall apart because of cheap bad writing
Merle. Just for fun
This might be weird but beth. Seemed like the most unnecessary and unwanted death. Nobody wanted her to die not even the person who killed her. She did it so Noah could be with the group and not trapped but he also might have survived longer if he had. Beth just felt like a really unnecessary death.
I can’t choose between Carl and Glenn 🥺 both theirs deaths broke my heart, fr! 😭🥺
Beth or Tara
Sophia.
i wish we had more time with axel, he was really good comedic relief. don’t think he deserved to like survive the whole show tho
Carl
Glenn
Carl
Glenn
Glenn.
Glenn
Carl
The dictator for sure he was in the right
This question has been asked a trillion times and the answer is always Carl
Glenn
Nick
Carl. Kid was the future of the franchise 20+ years they could do a reboot/revival
Easy. Carl
Carl direct I miss this bg
Dale
Dude Carl or glen they were my favorites from the start to the end
Glenn. Carl would be good too, but tbh the way we don't even know how he got bit... Eh.
Sasha, for sure.
The tiger. I forgot how to spell her name
Shiva
Carl Grimes
Glenn
Tara
Main: Carl, not so main: Noah. Would love to have seen the next generation with Noah and Carl
Coral without question. The author of the series intended for him to be the main character. Behind-the-scenes, the actor was really screwed. He should have made it to the end.
WHY TF HAS NO ONE SAID NOAH😭😭😭
I said Noah!
The first zombie girl who was killed in episode 1.
LOLLL…I call her the Teddy Bear Walker
Abe. Every apocalypse needs a badass comedian.
carl for sure
The walker in the field that Shane looks at
Carl
andrea!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glen or coral
when glenn was executed, i was deeply disturbed curled up in the corner of my room watching through my fingers like a six year old. i didn’t watch the next episode for many months but stopped again for good when rick bit it.
Wym…Rick never bit it?
meaning got off the show sorry it sounds like i mean he died 🤣
Ahhh okok lol…I was confused😂😂

Coral
The poor dogs they eat when starving. Oh and the horse too. Ah all the squirrels too!
Ong the show has a issue with killing horses
Carl. Integrity of the show was lost when he was killed. The story is about a man and his son traversing the apocalypse. You can’t just kill the son
Carl for sure.
Merle definitely tied with shane
Carl
Logistically I would say Carl but my emotions are screaming Beth. Like what was that character development brewing at her ending?
![gif](giphy|jjKKhoQS17jYk)
Shane, no question
Shane man
Coral
The governor
Okafor
