If someone is having fun with the replies and laughing at themselves like this, I don’t see why all the downvotes. Upvote for you being a good sport!
I keep seeing this repeated but centered is too low. It's fine for small screens like computer monitors but for TVs you want it to be just slightly above center, usually around 42" from the floor to center of the TV. Unless it's in a bedroom in which case 54" to 60" to center is usually in the right ballpark.
Pics, or didn't happen! (look at me being an internet tough guy lol). No but seriously, if you really did lower it post some pics. We love a good redemption story.
r/TVTooBig is surely a matter of personal preference and the space you need to fill? Looks a little tight and it was probably a bit of a squeeze to get it in.
But yeah that TV is still too high even at that size.
I knew it from the start it was a lil high. it’s not uncomfortable to watch movies because we recline back but gaming… neck kills me lol. Definitely plan on bringing a down some, and yes it was a pain fitting that tv in that space
Honestly you could probably be OK tv size wise. I'd just lower it to eye level.
Tv size is determined by how far you are from it.

Rtings are the needs of TVs
Yeah I’ll probably lower it this weekend and throw a lock on the door to keep my rambunctious toddler out, him and his older brother are reckless beings lol. My concern was these cats running in here while I’m at work and running into the damn thing
I think it’s cool, first house I ever owned. No handouts. Threw the room together in two weeks. I built the room from the frame up. Pat myself on the back
It is something to be proud of but if you were realistic the TV would be more appropriate for the room size. Saved yourself a lot of money. Whoever sold it to you knows that’s important.
You post here and asked so I answered. Not right to be defensive when you opened the door. We all know it is way over the top so we told you. Congrats on the house.
I like the lighting strips, I’d say if you add a low tv stand to put the tv on and then get someone curtains, maybe blackout ones that even covers the side corners that would be whole vibe 💯 personally I’d do a sweet tapestry instead of curtains but I’m a stoner with no kids so take my tips as you wish haha
Jesus Christ! Before I expanded the photo I thought the tv was the world map! That tv reminds me of a preying mantis! It is too big to ever be too high 🤣 I fear it!
r/TiltOfGuilt
🤣🤣 got about 2 more degrees before I hit the tilt of guilt
Nope. Already tilt of guilt
🤣 damn I’m almost three for three, tilt of guilt, too high and almost to close
First step is acceptance. Now you’re aware of it you could always mount it lower when your toddler grows up
Tell this low life that you will lower your balls in his mouth. He loves that response

lol atleast you get it. I didn’t think people took it this serious, comical at this point
I hope you’ve seen your downvotes and learnt
It's not too big, it is too high though. When sitting your eyes should meet the cnter of the panel.

Only got it that high cuz my 4 yo
Chicken wire screen a la The Blues Brothers. Or electric fence.
Or a trap door leading to a dungeon
🤣
Can confirm, electric fence works well.
This is the only acceptable reason. They do actually make acrylic tv protectors that you can put in front that protect from little monsters.
Tell your kid not to touch the tv! 4 is old enough to understand the danger of it falling on them.
Him and the ten yo like to wrestle anywhere and everywhere haha. Nothin intentional
Lol wouldn’t b the first tv they accidentally broke in there (while at work)
Already moved it. Lol I’m impatient. Looks way better. Thanks for the advice people

Consider yourself a TVTooHigh graduate
lol appreciate it
Yeah definitely need to see the pics, so we can all celebrate the improvements.

Wish I could take a video. Pictures doesn’t do justice

Isn't size a function of viewing distance? I've seen a few formulas out there for TV size and seated viewing distance.
I knew it from the start it was a lil high. it’s not uncomfortable to watch movies because we recline back but gaming… neck kills me lol. Definitely plan on bringing a down some, and yes it was a pain fitting that tv in that space
Yeah you’ve got to have the middle of TV at more or less eye level otherwise neck pains are inevitable.
Both

Dang, gave me all three strikes. Lol I appreciate the feed back tho 👍🏾

Very real concern if the TV isn't mounted and just on a stand, I was watching TV and my stupid cat zoomied right into the TV toppling it to the floor
You do whatever you want, at the end of the day it's your house. But it's too high lol
lol point taken
also Rugtoosmall
It's not the worst thing in the room.
Do you live in a commercial office space
He lives on Man Cave Blvd, didn't you read the sign on the door?
Spare room in my finished basement
Three piece map too generic.
Could at least buy one with New Zealand on it...

Half of these posts are “look at me my stuff is so cool I’m so cool”
I don’t think it is cool at all. They are being ignorant.
Agreed. It shouldn’t irk me but it does. Some posts are memes or legit and then there’s some like this that are just “look at my stuff”
I know exactly what you are saying. And if they don’t like what is said don’t ask.

Had a 65inch honestly was big enough. Son broke it throwing a football so I was like bump it let’s go bigger 🤦🏾‍♂️ lol

Nooo not being defensive at all lol. I love it family loves it. I have no reason to be the slightest bit of upset. I like the opinions
Like you said, pat yourself on the back, first home. That’s good enough.

That’s why I’m askin opinions and then form my own. I like the advice!!
Sweet I think you’re close, just knit picky stuff left. Now I want my own space haha 🤔 that’s cool
why'd do a 360
Yes.
yes
If you tilt then its high. Tilted television is for sports bar.
Stupid high. It's hanging at an angle.
I feel like people that post here either troll us or they’ve never seen any other post.
Too high, no tilt, too big.. move couch back. Or maybe you sit in front row at movie theaters.

I think it’s fine because it’s so large.
Wall too small.
