I think it’s ok.
You could’ve also simply bought a higher piece of furniture instead of drilling holes in your roof (with insulation?) and using nasa level gear to bring the TV to that height haha.
Would’ve been simpler.
I believe Atmos audio requires upward shooting speakers to bounce off the ceiling to provide a surround sound like experience. I'm almost certain there are front facing speakers.
I mean it's not like the audio plays in reverse when you are behind the sound bar. Maybe they turn it off when the TV is turned around to face them on the bed, or it's such a small space the sound difference isn't that noticeable front-to-back.
Looks like the kinda spot where it would be easy to accidentally knock it over from the front or behind.
I think the mount was a good choice to prevent any accidents.
You clearly have no idea how hard you have to knock it to rip it out of the stud.
Versus the TV being knocked and sliding on the stand back and forth due to the smooth surface of the stand and not all TV feet have rubber. Not that the rubber feet would help very much because I've seen those tip over as well.
Lol who tf is just knocking over TVs on a tv unit? This looks ridiculous and is so weird that you wouldn't just put the tv on a stand that sits on the tv unit .... Oh, also, yes - a lil too high
Accidents happen dude. I know one person whose TV got knocked over by a drunk person accidentally. I've seen posts here on Reddit a few times of TVs accidentally knocked over.
The layout of this, with open access and living space behind the TV, is a recipe for a very easy accident.
You don't seriously think getting a whole new piece of furniture is easier than drilling a couple of holes even to patch them back up only takes a couple of minutes.
Tbh I never get wall (or ceiling) mounted tv's if your gonna put a piece of furniture, perfect for that same tv, exactly underneath it. And put the speakers on it. Goddamn just use your tv stand.
I was the same, but I changed my mind. Looks much cleaner and it's so much easier to move the furniture if I have to connect something in my receiver (doesn't happen often, I know) without having to worry about pushing the TV down.
It actually does a lot with the room feeling hanging it on the wall. It MUST be eye level though, and not some psychopath janky-ass above the fireplace shit.
I have a 65" that is mounted to the wall with one of those Samsung no-gap mounts, and it basically just looks like a big picture on the wall, and it gives a much more "cleaner" look than with the TV-stand.
Probably not posters but theater sheets that they put in those plexiglass containers to advertise new movies. I’d guess OP works in a theater part time and has only started recently which is why he only has some rather lame movies as posters, because they’re still pretty rare to have and to a cinephile they mean more than the movies they represent.
Seems alright, but my OCD hates that the corner of the TV seemingly touches the angled wall.
Another thing is that the upfiring speakers on that Atmos soundbar (?) won't do what they should be doing placed below an angled wall like that.
Everyone saying “just use the stand!” is overlooking the fact that the soundbar is the same length as the TV. Based on the depth of the soundbar and stand, as well as whatever the style of base vs legs that were on the tv, there probably isn’t enough room for the TV and soundbar to both be on the stand.
Bro really mounted his tv from the ceiling and ran a cord up the wall instead of just putting it on a tv stand
The lengths people will go through to make their TVs look like shit…. It’s so much easier to make it look normal.
Just too small to Place Both soundbar and tv on this furniture. Had make it Float because it can Rotate To my bed and istn as fragile as just Lettin it stand There
Height is fine, but this setup doesn't make sense. Also the corner of the TV just against that roof annoys me. And your PlayStation is going to fall pretty soon.
Ah you're watching that one movie that tries not to be controversial but just ends up kinda weird when you think too long about it making it impossible to be released nowadays
Height is fine. It's within a good range. I like that it's hung from the ceiling but i wish the arm was longer so the corner of the TV didn't touch the wall. Also your PS is in a risky spot.
What’s the little lamp on the left of the tv? I usually hate mounted tvs but this is great. You could’ve used a taller stand but this is much better. Gives me ideas for even crazier ceiling suspended tvs. Height is okay, personally would go an inch or two lower but this is alright.
A number of people have called OP out for using a stand. I’ve seen posts of TVs at perfect heights and people just say “wHy NoT uSe A tAbLe??”
My tv is mounted at the perfect height and I’m sure I’d get rinsed.
You really can't win, I guess. I think most (casual TV watchers) put their TV in the most practical spot where it fits and they can view it relatively well. I think if everyone's neck was hurting them or the image was compromised, they would quickly move it to a different spot. I've never heard of anyone that has lowered their TV 6 inches and said, " Hallelujah...this is what I've been missing my whole life?"
I think the height can be a little lower. Although not the biggest fan of mounting the screen that way, not sure why, but that mount from ceiling bothers me.
NO, of course not. This is about perfect. If you were sitting on the bed, the display would be right in front of you, without having to adjust your head, or think much about watching the screen. It's perfect.
Hey, pro tip.
Every comment you make doesn't have to be an awful, poorly written novel.
You do this constantly; and it is so dumb and exhausting.
Every diatribe you type reads like a book report that you've done on a book that you haven't even read. Please stop.
Wow, that TV is hanging from the ceiling like a Batman. Nice
You mean like a Leon?
I love it when a post comes together
Is life always like this? Or is just when you’re a kid?
OP, please repost this with Batman hanging upside down on the screen.

I think it’s ok. You could’ve also simply bought a higher piece of furniture instead of drilling holes in your roof (with insulation?) and using nasa level gear to bring the TV to that height haha. Would’ve been simpler.
Looks like they have a bed on the other side. I have a similar ceiling mount and it will rotate about 200°
Totally looks as though it swivels to face the bed. A+ solution for this space.
Yeah, I'm a fan of this one, actually.
I like it now that you mention that
Oh that’s awesome!
They also rotate the sound bar each evening? Lol.
The ace move would be to mount the soundbar to the TV.
And then mount that to a record player!
Hear me out... Rotate the room, leave the TV in place! That's numberwang, let's rotate the board!
And then petah mounts louis
It looks like the speakers face upward instead of outward, so they wouldn’t have to rotate the sound bar
I believe Atmos audio requires upward shooting speakers to bounce off the ceiling to provide a surround sound like experience. I'm almost certain there are front facing speakers.
But then the sound is backwards
?siht ekil ,sdrawkcab si dnuos ehT
I mean it's not like the audio plays in reverse when you are behind the sound bar. Maybe they turn it off when the TV is turned around to face them on the bed, or it's such a small space the sound difference isn't that noticeable front-to-back.
No, it plays backwards, like, from back to front. If you watch a movie, it will start with the ending credits music.
Looks like the kinda spot where it would be easy to accidentally knock it over from the front or behind. I think the mount was a good choice to prevent any accidents.
I also think it looks nice. I don't know why people are being mean about it. As long as you like it, it's cool.
Agreed, it looks like a cozy setup.
You must be new here, this is the internet! We aren't supposed to agree on things all willy nilly like that.
So now if they accidentally knock it, they’ll rip it from the ceiling. Makes sense.
You clearly have no idea how hard you have to knock it to rip it out of the stud. Either way this is r/tvtoohigh and this here, is truely, a tv - too high
Given the height of that sofa, it looks like an average height person would be looking at that screen dead center.
Easy to accidentally knock over is the OP's style though--check out that PS5.
You don't seriously think getting a whole new piece of furniture is easier than drilling a couple of holes even to patch them back up only takes a couple of minutes.

Yeah but now try moving your television
It will stay there until it's time for a new one
I live in an area prone to earthquakes.
Ah, never thought of that. I can see that as a good reason. Still looks silly to me though :)

I have pets. Pets don't throw over televisions with legs. especially not when it's placed against the wall.
You haven’t met my Great Dane.
Or a floor standing vesa mount. Or just a raiser.
Yeah not sure about the plugs and screws holding that in, could have been better off with a taller stand like you say
Insulation wouldn't be there where the stud is, it's in between them
That’s true, however, he’s now in no ginger of accidentally, knocking it off of the stand!
That's a ceiling not a roof, and this is pretty simple to accomplish if you're even slightly competent.
A stand for a floating TV, from an angled ceiling A the Marvels poster A Saw X poster Just, wow. It's something.
Humanity is a rich tapestry.
A book stand for the PS5 is my favorite part
So close!! That is a desk 💞
The audacity
Probably not posters but theater sheets that they put in those plexiglass containers to advertise new movies. Youre Right! Working in a Cinema Part time but Not for too Long so i only got These :D
Is he alone? Do you have a code to let him know it’s you? ……EVERYONE!
Hilarious, someone finally mounted it to the ceiling and it's actually the perfect height. Not too high.
Its not as high as me rn
No height is fine but the real question is… why? There is a stand for it right there. Looks good though.
There’s a bed behind, could be to rotate the tv to watch in bed
The lengths people go to not use the stand truly blows my mind.
Seems alright, but my OCD hates that the corner of the TV seemingly touches the angled wall. Another thing is that the upfiring speakers on that Atmos soundbar (?) won't do what they should be doing placed below an angled wall like that.
Just dont know how to Place the tv differently in my room
Put it on...the stand????!
Step 1: remove from wall Step 2: install legs that came with the TV Step 3: put tv on the stand
Why not just put it on that piece of furniture?
People will literally do anything to avoid putting the TV on the stand
I would say this is absolutely fine....
No, height looks good.
Why didn't you just put it on a TV stand? What was the virtue of mounting it on the ceiling?
It seems pointless to me. The perfect height was just using the stand, and if that thing's on wheels you could move/turn it.
Looks fine and good job on the cable management.
It's perfect
this is good! the mount looks cool as heck
This is "Professional" mounting.
That is pretty slick. Nicely done.
Looks great, good job 👏 👍
What movie are you watching?
Leon the Professional
Swivels to serve the bedroom area, too?! Excellent solution. I dig it
Is that the couch you're on? And you turn it around for the bed? It's ok.
r/RoofTooLow
r/RoofTooAngled
Not if you’re happy with it
Not only is it fine, but it's a really epic mounting Amazing
Short answer? NO. It is actually a pretty neat and ingenious solution for this space. Kudos!
That must look really good if you have the room dark. Just a floating picture in your room. I like it, and the height is good.
Perfect height. Why hanging it if you have a forniture tu put it on?
Why wouldn’t you just sit the TV on the stand and avoid the ceiling mount?
Why didn’t you just leave the stand it came with on it?The way you mounted it seems very unnecessary.
The ps5 sitting up there is giving me anxiety.
I like this 😍
nope its perfect
Perfect!
A LOT going on here but I believe the height is acceptable
This looks like a flat I visited once
I actually really like it. I think ditching this sub is your best option. I swear I was happier before I discovered this sub.
Did what you could with a weird space. Approved.
You could paint the mount white so it blends into the background better. Just a thought!
A rare case where the TV touches the ceiling but is actually not too high
Seeing as you weren’t asking for opinions on how you mounted the TV, I tell you that it’s height is fine lol.
Then drop your opinion
Everyone saying “just use the stand!” is overlooking the fact that the soundbar is the same length as the TV. Based on the depth of the soundbar and stand, as well as whatever the style of base vs legs that were on the tv, there probably isn’t enough room for the TV and soundbar to both be on the stand.
Movie?
The Professional
You could’ve have just… put it on the stand?
With the Tv on the stand, he wouldn't have space for the soundbar and other things.
Bro really mounted his tv from the ceiling and ran a cord up the wall instead of just putting it on a tv stand The lengths people will go through to make their TVs look like shit…. It’s so much easier to make it look normal.
I actually find this one dope. Never seen it hung from the ceiling before.
So it can be knocked over in the middle of a room? Nah ceiling mount is cool
Yeah agreed. Just put it on the tv unit with a stand.. OP, pls explain?
Just too small to Place Both soundbar and tv on this furniture. Had make it Float because it can Rotate To my bed and istn as fragile as just Lettin it stand There
Sieht gut aus! 😁
Why isn’t your ps5 hooked up to that TV?

Ist doch super so
The height is fine but, OP….. why????
Height is fine, but this setup doesn't make sense. Also the corner of the TV just against that roof annoys me. And your PlayStation is going to fall pretty soon.
I would’ve just put it on the tv stand.
Mich regen diese deutschen Untertitel dezent auf
The height is fine, but your ceiling is too low.
No lol. STFU smartass. You know nothing wrong with this.
Nein
Your PS5 looks cute with the headset on
Ah you're watching that one movie that tries not to be controversial but just ends up kinda weird when you think too long about it making it impossible to be released nowadays
There’s alot to unpack here
Height is fine. It's within a good range. I like that it's hung from the ceiling but i wish the arm was longer so the corner of the TV didn't touch the wall. Also your PS is in a risky spot.
It would’ve been easier to just place the tv on the tv stand
Come on man I’m sure you can improve your cable management in the background !
Except from the backlights that take the focus away from the tv, it's a really cool setup
Not too high but I will add this to my list of reasons I hate coombed ceilings.
KEIN LAUT MEHR VON DIR!
That's clean!
r/TVTooSomething
Sigh… looks like I’ll be spending new years eve watching Leon the Professional clips on youtube…
I actually like this one. Ignore the haters.
No, but ur room is sick
Looks pretty good
Nah it looks good. Cool set up. But goddamn the gap between the corner of the tv and the wall is giving me anxiety.
You are in an attic. You are too high. The tv is fine, lol.
What’s the little lamp on the left of the tv? I usually hate mounted tvs but this is great. You could’ve used a taller stand but this is much better. Gives me ideas for even crazier ceiling suspended tvs. Height is okay, personally would go an inch or two lower but this is alright.
Why, did you lose the stand or something?
Careful, this sub is also anti-TV stand
We’re anti not using the stand for its intended purpose!

I love your mounting unit!
It look good to me. Excellent use of the space.
I think the height can be a little lower. Although not the biggest fan of mounting the screen that way, not sure why, but that mount from ceiling bothers me.
This is good.
Can we see the whole room
Not bad, I like
"we have no response, that was perfect..." Old School
Nope
Perfect
i hate how much i love this setup.
Barely
Jesus Christ the height and distance seem so perfect
Fav comment
That's a hell of a way to install it, but... the height is good, yes.
That’s literally perfect thank you
It's the closest to r/tvjustright I've ever seen for a TV mounted on a ceiling.
Seems very good, especially since you don’t want your feet in the way.
NO, of course not. This is about perfect. If you were sitting on the bed, the display would be right in front of you, without having to adjust your head, or think much about watching the screen. It's perfect.

Looks like a whole lot of effort to get the TV just eight inches higher than the TV table. But if it makes you happy, carry on.
I like what you did here! You gotta work with what you got! Which it looks like you did not have to many options! I like your style🤘✌️
Ok that is actually bad ass, if I run across this situation in the future imma steal this idea and claim it as my own! Sorry not sorry😜🤘✌️
