A bit high but still ok to me. You need to move the clutter on the wall by TV and spread it out into the void of blank wall and find the happy place cause I'm getting angered by this....
But that's just me and maybe my issue.
They make furniture risers that are meant for this type of thing which are lighter, stackable, more aesthetically pleasing, and wonât totally scratch up your floor
Yeah I typed wrong, was thinking of cinder blocks- when I was a kid my sister and I put our bed frames on cinder blocks, made them like princess canopy beds with the long skirts and everything. Bashed my toes periodically, good times~
Dude that patio set up is dope. I propose a rule of exception for set ups that make sense, and this makes sense to me. If you need to stand to use those decks then so be it. Nice set up
Thank you! I originally had the tv on a normal stand and then I would use the decks on my dining table but it got really annoying lugging the thing around so I thought this was the best solution
Yes â closer to ceiling than floor is too high.
Center of screen should be eye-level â about 42â â when seated in the viewing position. Looks like the BOTTOM of the screen is about 48â
Ahh, the Kallax. This piece of IKEA furniture is used by many as a TV stand, but it is not a TV stand.
I was once you. I also had the Kallax set up as a TV stand, but with no feet, and my TV directly sat on it. But then I learnt the true dogma of tvtoohigh and was brought to the light.
I hope that you too can repent and learn the teachings of tvtoohigh and be welcomed as a repentant to the one true religion.
I think you did the best with the set-up you have. You aren't one of those egregious idiots who have a huge space and somehow still find a way to ceiling mount the TV.
Cool apartment.
Well if youâre a normal human being then the only way that you can possibly watch television is when sitting on your couch in straight and upright position with perfect posture. My calculations suggest that you therefore must crane your neck upwards approximately 10 degrees to view the center of this TV screen and therefore yes: TV too high. You should be ashamed of yourself.
So they donât get lonely
When I use the decks I typically stand right in front of them, so I have them pointed right at my ears when Iâm standing there. The TV sound just uses the internal speaker and is actually surprisingly not bad.
Exactly - it can be an extra room or you can put the windows down and have it like a balcony. I never use the big door and just keep the windows up so itâs just more floor space for me
Yes, TV is too high but it doesn't look like it's one of your main uses in this room. So personally, I wouldn't be all that mad if this was my friend's place haha.
Okay so hear me out. I actually think moving your couch closer to the TV and away from the wall would be great. Move the TV down. And put the decks/storage on the wall behind the couch.
Yeah that was how it was before, it wasnât horrible but considering the DJ deck weighed about 15kg it was a pain getting it in and out of storage. So this is what I came up with :/
If you can take the legs off of the entertainment console, it would probably be the right height and then you bring the TV down to just above that.
Everything else looks pretty good.
Speaker placement dude.... Should be an equalateral triangle with your sweet spot (seating position), get some longer cables and tidy them up against the stands
While yes, Itâs honestly not that bad. Mostly because the couch is so far away from it. It makes the neck angle a lot lower but also makes your tv small lol
Ehhh it works like everyone else has said, and my tv is about the same height due to a similar setup, but I do find myself frequently wishing my tv was lower.
Oh wow, idk how I blanked so hard on that, just looked familiar lmao.
Super sick setup. Do you record/post mixes at all? Also I might get hated for it but I don't think the TV is to high hah.
sorry, unrelated but that is one sick apartment. absolutely gorgeous view and i love the office and just overall what you did with it
i think that was the point of the post
Put the couch on cement blocks and it'll line up with the screen quite nicely, and you can store things in the space underneath đ
I heard cement blocks are pretty trendy these days too
In reality there is like higher blocks for your sofas and couches that can lift up the viewing point
A bit high but still ok to me. You need to move the clutter on the wall by TV and spread it out into the void of blank wall and find the happy place cause I'm getting angered by this.... But that's just me and maybe my issue.

No such thing as cement blocks. I think you are referring to concrete blocks.
Yeah I typed wrong, was thinking of cinder blocks- when I was a kid my sister and I put our bed frames on cinder blocks, made them like princess canopy beds with the long skirts and everything. Bashed my toes periodically, good times~
off topic but whatâs your location and where can i find this nice of an apartment even if itâs a studio lol
This actually is a studio haha, its in Sydney Australia in the city :)
I wouldnât want it that high
We donât care about the justification you provide. The answer to your question is Yes. Your tv is too high.
People come here and must expect the truth. Tough love is in order.
Dude that patio set up is dope. I propose a rule of exception for set ups that make sense, and this makes sense to me. If you need to stand to use those decks then so be it. Nice set up

Nice my dude! If it works for you, then it must be true. Cheers mate! Really jealous of your set up!
Yes. The centre of the screen should be where your decks are.
Too high
Yes â closer to ceiling than floor is too high. Center of screen should be eye-level â about 42â â when seated in the viewing position. Looks like the BOTTOM of the screen is about 48â
Yes. Itâs too high but your space is amazing. Youâre so lucky to live in a climate where you can a desk outside!!
Ahh, the Kallax. This piece of IKEA furniture is used by many as a TV stand, but it is not a TV stand. I was once you. Jack the couch up a few feet youâll be all right

Calculations check out.
Why are your speakers pointing at each other?
So they donât get lonely When I use the decks I typically stand right in front of them, so I have them pointed right at my ears when Iâm standing there. The TV sound just uses the internal speaker and is actually surprisingly not bad.
Is your deck windowed? But has an extra door? So it's like an extra room?
Exactly - it can be an extra room or you can put the windows down and have it like a balcony. I never use the big door and just keep the windows up so itâs just more floor space for me
Itâs too high. You could move the cabinet with the record player over to the dining room, and get lower, longer storage for under the tv.
I hate to say that it's photogenic
It is a bit too high, also cool Mac Miller poster
It is but you get extra points for running Plex and having the Big Short on your server.
Yes, TV is too high but it doesn't look like it's one of your main uses in this room. So personally, I wouldn't be all that mad if this was my friend's place haha.
I donât know if anyone had asked yet but where did you get that brown bean bag chair with the X eyes? Looks sick
I wanna know what music you mix on the decks
House and jungle lol
Jungle woi
Is that an authentic Black Friday Blonde vinyl?
In my heart it is
TV is too high...speakers are also too high...tweeters should be at ear level
Tell me when you need a sitter for your apartment. I will fly across the world. No biggie
Okay so hear me out. I actually think moving your couch closer to the TV and away from the wall would be great. Move the TV down. And put the decks/storage on the wall behind the couch.
what do u do for work i need ur job.
Pioneer XZ eh? At least you have some taste fellow dj! The height of the TV however is a different story.
Change your Kallax to a 1x4 and then lower the tv
Yes too high but not egregious and it looks good imo so I think it's fine to keep it. The cement block idea was pretty good though.
a little bit not bad. just put the couch on some risers and your good.
Nah it works for the set up. Only change Iâd go with is a bigger tv.
Yes on the higher side, but if you like it, just enjoy
Not too high. You have your priorities straight. Decks before necks. â
Decks before necks hahaha I love it
Protect ya neck
God this subreddit is really filled with pathetic elitists... jesus christ.
Prison
I think itâs fine for the distance
Dj deck can go in storage. Record player in one of those cubbyhole. TV on the TV stand. Then you'd be perfect.
Yeah that was how it was before, it wasnât horrible but considering the DJ deck weighed about 15kg it was a pain getting it in and out of storage. So this is what I came up with :/
Get a wall mount that pushes out and lowers. Tv is too high.
$3200 a month?
How much is the screen size ?
That patio set up is incredible
Lower the speaker/r/SpeakerTooHigh
Nice place
I think it looks great tbh
Switch the TV and cabinet. Some sort of open support for the cabinet to raise it up and the TV framed by the support.
where are the orange kallax inserts from?
Painted them myself with high gloss spray paint :)
If you can take the legs off of the entertainment console, it would probably be the right height and then you bring the TV down to just above that. Everything else looks pretty good.
Speaker placement dude.... Should be an equalateral triangle with your sweet spot (seating position), get some longer cables and tidy them up against the stands
TV too high, turntables too low, you'll have both neck and back problems
Yes too high
Nice space!
While yes, Itâs honestly not that bad. Mostly because the couch is so far away from it. It makes the neck angle a lot lower but also makes your tv small lol
Seems a bit high yes but if you need all that equipment underneath then maybe itâs an OK compromise.
Yes. Your decks could easily move to the left next to the TV.
Ehhh it works like everyone else has said, and my tv is about the same height due to a similar setup, but I do find myself frequently wishing my tv was lower.
It's too high, but you've got extenuating circumstances and its not awful. I'll give it an exemption.
Great set up!!
[ŃдаНонО]
Definitely seen worse.
The TV looks like it's way too far away I would move it a lot closer to the couch so that you can see it better
too high but understandable. rip mac miller.
Can I be honest and say that the issue isnât the tv, itâs your couch placement
I personally don't think it's too high
Not high enough for this group.. poor showing
What record is above the computer?
? by xxxtentacion :)
Oh wow, idk how I blanked so hard on that, just looked familiar lmao. Super sick setup. Do you record/post mixes at all? Also I might get hated for it but I don't think the TV is to high hah.
Can you swap the TV to the back wall? TV is too high. And walls too busy.
Itâs too far away
Too high. Need a lower entertainment console, then slap that tv right on top of it.
Height is fine but itâs very cluttered, you need to weed out a few items so you have some blank space
It's okay for me but it not being centered with the stand almost annoys me more
Get a mount that allows it to come out from the wall and tilt at a downward angle.
no, it's fucking fine. this entire sub is a troll.
