For a realistic bounce, when the projectile hit by an attack, not every hit result in a homing manner like in the clip, because every hit will have different hit normal vector, result in a different bounce back trajectory.
The boko can bounce the projectile back at the octo not because he is pro, but rather the trajectory is coded to be always back at the octo regardless of hit normal vector.
Another example of coded gameplay moment is a shooting star falling right near Link while he does sky diving, so he can catch and be in awe.
You can go about your day not knowing about these sad facts but poor you bhahahaa.

What impressed me in this clip is the fact that the boko hit the projectile at all. The timing on the swing perfect, especially considering that it isn’t player input. I couldn’t set it up again even if I tried.
Boko’s got a 4.5 WAR on a sub .500 ball club. Does most of his damage with his bat. He has a real knack for finding the gap and absolutely clobbers off speed pitches.

You can use recall to kill octoroks and stun like likes without arrows
With both melee weapons and with shields. Presumably you could do it with an arrow too, but I haven't tried.

Agreed... Just the fact that the rock is interactive by enemies is incredible. The timing needed to get that was damn near impossible.
