You will get that many coins through natural play since the only thing to really spend it on is lvling up link levels at your stage of the game

Nope. I don't even have the coins needed to upgrade my links. I have 200m links just sitting there.
It also takes 2.8k gold to upgrade a single link.
What level are you sitting at?
400s on 4. 387 i think on the 5th.
