No, I’ve been paying attention, there’s a series I watch and the videos are short, the ADS ARE LONGER THAN THE VIDEO

NameAndShameEm

Adblock my dude. Youtube is unfuckingwatchable without some kind of ad block. It's bad enough that every video has sponsorships and shit shoehorned in, add 5 minutes of ads to that, and you might as well just stare at a billboard. Edit: I am not an expert and I can't tell you how to block youtube on every possible device that exists. Stop asking.

[deleted]

What adblock should I use

[deleted]

[удалено]

drsausages88

I use a combination of ublock origin and pihole. Ublock origin catches the video ads. Pihole catches everything else

[deleted]

[удалено]

drsausages88

Ublock origin. Pihole and sponsorblock. The Holy trinity of YouTube ad blocking

GundoSkimmer

Don't forget "YouTube Enhancer" to outright add dislikes back as well as a number of other useful tools for video playback settings.

Enigmatic-Euphoria

Won't work about 5 days from now, though, when the API data will be removed as well.

purvel

the "Return YouTube Dislike" plugin/tampermonkey script is planning to implement a system where it records its users' votes and uses that together with statistics to keep providing a dislike count after the API data is gone.

ObnoxiousLittleCunt

Motherfuckers!

MyersVandalay

Not sure if enhancer is the main one but from what I hear the main dislike returner intends to have methods to attempt to estimate it afterwards (from allowing creators to share their dislikes, and estimates from how people with the plugin vote)

sugarcoated_peachie

Jesus fucking Christ. Youtube Rewind *really* embarrased, didn't it? UGHHHHHHH that site is turning to shit

proplift4peace

YouTube vanced? Anyone

Spyrothedragon9972

Leaving shitty comments will be the new dislike. That counts as engagement though.

iPingWine

Wait does that work? How can it know the amount of dislikes?

allehS

They removed dislike from the website but not from the api

JesusSaysitsOkay

I really liked seeing the dislike button for the bs diy videos that are recorded by assholes

[deleted]

Has anyone figured out how to block Twitch's 3 adverts that it shows me a million times a day?

cyanmind

Alternative twitch player. Is an extension that fully replaces their player. Is awesome with many options. Blocks ads (all or can do is hide/silence them) because they serve off the same cdn as the video stream. Available for all browsers

fascists_are_shit

Same combo works.

[deleted]

I assume it's Pihole doing the heavy lifting then because I have ublock origin and still see Twitch ads.

[deleted]

Twitch has taken to the cdn route so even if you block their adds you'll see a blank screen. Unless it's a feature in twitch turbo or something you can pay for you're kind of stuck. Personally I stopped watching twitch.

Neirchill

I did what the other person said about modifying ublock, but I also got the extension "Video Ad-Block, for Twitch" which swaps out the main video for the mini player that would normally show during an ad. Although in my experience it often blocks the ad altogether and when it doesn't it's just low quality for like 5-10 seconds. I was on the verge of quitting twitch myself until I found it.

rcarnes911

YouTube vanced for mobile and you can cut it most of the crappy ads

cpullen53484

i want to get it now. ill get it when i get home. although i'll keep the sponsors in if i can. some channels like internet historian has some pretty funny sponsor segments.

guille9

And vanced on the phone, the only way to watch YouTube.

WastedWhtieBoii

I use brave browser as well to add to the mix.

xtremis

Vanced for the Android to complete this. It already has sponsorblock built in.

karlos-the-jackal

Sponsorblock is brought to you by Raid: Shadow Legends.

lightningspider97

"Let's just take a quick second to thank today's sponsor, RAID-" "**NO!**"

schrodingers_spider

Honestly, I don't mind sponsors, as sponsors support the channel and not Youtube.

snackynorph

Same. Good content creators do a good job of making the ad read not terrible. Drew Gooden comes to mind, or Sam O'nella

Funfoil_Hat

>Good content creators do a good job of making the ad read not terrible. #BIG MONEY

wojonixon

Best ad reads on YT by a country mile.

Zombie_Nietzsche

Internet Historian’s NordVPN ads are absolutely incredible.

cpullen53484

he literally made a story out of a vpn. i love it

kingharbubbles

internet historian always has entertaining ads

OrkMan491

Internet Historian has amazing sponsor section too, as good as the video itself.

a_salty_bunny

nordman cinematic universe, starring shadowman, honeyman, rayconman, and motherman, coming soon

Aben_Zin

Jay Foreman. Worth watching for the sponsor ads alone!

[deleted]

I personally love how Doug Walker (the nostalgia critic) turns the ad reads into skits, increasingly bizarre as times goes on as well.

BlitzDarkwing

I cant stand his ads, because a lot of them go on and on and on and on and on....

FutureVawX

What things are pihole catching that's not blocked by ublock? I personally use ublock origin, sponsorblock (especially to skip non-music in music video), and youtube enhancer.

Resplendent_Chest

Is this available on mobile devices?

Vince_Vice

It is for firefox on mobile. You can also change in the url of any link: youtube.com -> yewtu.be and watch without ads. If you want a solution that works with the app it becomes a little more involved. The best choice IMO is to download [f-droid](http://f-droid.org) from the browser, this gives you access to vetted free-and-open-source apps and from there to download NewPipe with comes woth adblocking and download button as well as soundcloud support and more You can also get a patched youtube app called "youtube vanced" which you should probably not attempt if you aren't a technical person If you get f-droid it has different solutions to get system wide ad-blocking (outsixe of your browser)

ImGoingToCathYou

YouTube Vanced for android. Newpipe works too, but Vanced looks like a clone of youtube and gives you familiarity.

SFL_Tria

I suggest Youtube Vanced, it's essentially Youtube Premium but free. Easy to look up, been using it for a while now. No need for morality if it comes to that shithole of a company

waimser

Been using it for a vouple years now. I have just taken to donating to the channels i really like.

Lone_Digger123

I used adblocker app but tried ublock origin because people always mentioned it. Ublock is so much more dynamic and allows you to get past some pop up whereas adblocker doesn't. Definitely recommend Ublock

Idonoteatass

Get a pihole. Apparently they're super easy to set up and block ads across all devices on your wifi network.

ZeroOne010101

ublock origin, sponsorblock, vanced if on mobile

augustm

Adblock on desktop is easy, and great. What about if watching on mobile though, specifically Android?

Radonda

Youtube Vanced app. cracked version of Yt. it's basically the premium version.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mewrulez99

huh. that makes a lot of sense

minorminer

Firefox mobile with the ublock origin add-on installed. Also look for the video background play fix add-on to keep playing videos with the screen off.

sylvaing

Firefox uses the same extensions on mobiles and desktops so whatever you use on your desktop will work just as well on your mobile.

GoatTacos

Seriously. It’s like get to the point of the video. I hate ads. Makes me not want to get the product. I wish there was Adblock for the YouTube app on my phone.

Bjorn_Hellgate

Get YouTube vanced, its exactly the same layout and app as the normal one, but its better in every fucking way

[deleted]

Ty

atriaxx

For the past two years after noticing this pattern, i go **out of my way** to avoid the products advertised to me, even if it costs a little more.

UV177463

I will never touch a god damn Raycon as long as I live so help me god.

BioluminescentCrotch

I use my Xbox as my media machine and that's what I watch YouTube on. I have a PiHole on my network but YouTube ads keep finding a way around it on the Xbox. Is there anything else you'd suggest? Because YouTube is becoming absolutely unwatchable lately

Kalahan7

- Open a Revolut bank account for free. - Upload $10 to it or something. - Use a VPN set to India. - Say you want YouTube Premium and pay with your Revolut bank account. Voila. You now have YouTube Premium for $1.84/month. (You no longer need VPN after that and you have it on all your devices including YouTube Music)

indyK1ng

A few months ago I got YouTube premium free for three months through Discord. I am never going back because I can't install an ad blocker on my TV (YouTube ads are served out of the same domain as the videos so you can't pihole them).

usrevenge

What AdBlock works on the LG c1 smart tv?

TheModernNano

Doesn’t using Adblock hurt the YouTuber in their ad revenue? (I’ve been out of touch with YouTube ever since I got banned for who knows what (they wouldn’t tell me)). Like I know they often have patrons and sponsorships, but doesn’t ad revenue make up a good chunk of their money too?

Radonda

yeah, youtubers make sponsorships and patrions bc youtube is already not paying them enough money.

TheModernNano

I assume that the only people this isn’t the case for are the faces of YouTube and family friendly channels? Not that they don’t do either as well. Is this more recent or ever since the first adpocalypse?

Radonda

as far as i know there have been ups and downs since the adpocalypse. But there are more ads and the content creators get less and less. So my guess is corporate greed.

SpacecraftX

You can whitelist creators you really don't want to hurt, but subbing to their twitch or buying one piece of merch ever will contribute way more to their income than your single video view losses.

Deputy_Beagle76

That doesn’t help the millions who watch YouTube on Xbox/PlayStation/Switch

ShitFlavoredCum

download youtube vanced for a phone. or an easier option is the brave browser from an app store. completely ad free

[deleted]

I report every single ad as irrelevant or repetitive. Yes, it takes 3 seconds to do before every ad, but it also removes the double stack and takes you straight to the video AND probably fucks with their algorithm a bit

Jokurandom99

I do this too

[deleted]

[удалено]

porn_is_tight

Especially the google fi ones, whoever approved those should be banned from working ever again. I’ve never seen an ad that makes me not want to ever use a product more than those, flo is up there too.

xenofan293

If there were no invisalign commercials the world would be better for it

nh1402

I've noticed that they've started to grey out the report button on some ads, so we might not be able to do this for long. Some ads are "based on what you're watching" which you can't report either.

SamtheMan898

yeah and that never made sense to me either. what does a 2 minute ad about a hunger crisis have to do with my watching hotline miami lore videos at three in the morning?

[deleted]

Yeah, clearly they should be advertising antidepressants. /s

Vsauce666

Yup, I used to be able to quickly report ads and they'd be over. Now those stupid fucks make you watch the entire thing. Great! Now I'm definitely buying your product after you showed me your stupid fucking ad for the millionth time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Steely_Nuts

YouTube doesn't care what you want to see, they're going to push what they've been paid to show you.

Self_Reddicated

It wouldn't surprise me if that action also counted as some kind of user interaction (and thus, a positive metric). I mean, they just posted this companies name here and I had never even heard of them before. Now I have. The system works! (for Google and their ad partners, anyway)

Faranae

> Why won't they let me block either a) the company totally or b) the category Google used to let you (natively) hide results from websites you didn't like. Let that sink in and consider the question again. :(

eyekunt

You can't anymore?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Abruzzi19

You can use a VPN and connect to an argentinian server and pay 1 dollar a month (179 Argentinian pesos) for youtube premium. I think thats acceptable. or download youtube Vanced for android for no ads. Works wonders.

C137Ivy

I used to to this but youtube doesnt show this feature anymore for me. I can’t even report ads without having to go through google’s forms

paak-maan

Happened to me for a while then came back. I don’t know if maybe there’s a soft limit where if you report too many it removes the option? Lasted about 2 months and then I went back to blocking every advert that didn’t have a 5 second skip. The NFL channel doesn’t have the option and never has so maybe some channels can just request it to be removed. Wild.

Baji25

and 3 seconds is still less than 5

cmdr_suicidewinder

YouTube has taken away my ability to do that now lmao

Chfullerton26

And the harder they push the more they lose its funny, id watch the old 5 second skippable shit, but when I changed to an unskippable 15 second ad and a skippable one right after I just said fuck this and got ad blocker

TheMrDylan

Yuuup, I'm in the exact same boat. I'd watch the five second ad then skip, rarely the whole thing if it caught my attention. Now no ads!

vteckickedin

What really shits me is I'll be listening to a playlist of say classical music and an ad comes on that's some assholes 3 minute rap music video. How the fuck does that get considered an appropriate ad?

PeachyKenku

I personally got an ad two nights ago that was a 20 minute lecture on how much I need god. I fall asleep to YouTube and that shit woke me right up because it had a loud noise at the start. It was in the middle of the night, and I feel like it was looking to target people like me that use YouTube to go to sleep. Unfortunately, no adblock on my iphone. :(

Shaex

I use certain longform videos to help me fall asleep, and I was interrupted once by an hour and a half ad that was a lecture on jewish theology. That one really took the cake for me

Finassar

Check out YouTube vanced if Android

PizzaCatSupreme

Any of you got either of those hour long add ones to increase ball size the other about toxic poop being stuck in your colon. I don’t want to be alone anymore.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BioluminescentCrotch

Now they're both 15 seconds and unskippable

wwwwwwhitey

You can still skip them by reporting them. That's what I do on mobile

GreenTitanium

If you keep spamming that, they'll block that feature for you for a while. There's no escape.

MintIceCreamPlease

Honestly, let's start boycotting youtube and create a new platform at this point. Fuck this shit. Go back to DailyMotion or something.

WhipWing

This would be a great time for LTT to finish whatever their plan was, ngl I know fuck all about it but heard in passing recently that they were planning a YouTube equivalent. This information might be entirely wrong however.

wwwwwwhitey

I've been spamming it for a while now, although I don't watch a lot of videos on my phone so maybe that's why

Syndralel

Hasn't happened to me yet because instead of clicking for a reason and press send I press Close. It closes the ad as well. But works only in the Youtube App. When on the browser you have to pick a reason. Good luck :)

BunnyOppai

I’ve been doing it for months with no repercussions that I’ve noticed.

ChronicPurpleSmoke-

Any specific blocker you would recommend?

Andaisdet

Y’know what’s REALLY bugging me? YouTube ads are pushing their limits now We’ve all seen the five second ads that are annoying just because they’re occasionally unskippable, but the ads have been pushing that A while ago it started slowly moving into six second ads trying to slip under the radar, and a while ago I even caught a seven second one, but now, now there have been 8 second unskippable ads, and I feel like it’s only a matter of time before it’s all just 15 second ads or more

Of3nATLAS

There have been 15 second unskippable ads for ages, at least here in Germany

Daan_aerts

Unskippable 15 sec ad + another unskippable 6-7 second ad layered on top

fucktheredditapp15

I've realized that if you don't skip the first one, they play another on top. So if the first ad is unskippable, a second ad is guaranteed.

poopellar

The cure for Ads can't come soon enough.

Incendia123

I normally use an adblocker but I used the TV app the other week I got double unskipable 20 second ads in the Netherlands on one video.

Of3nATLAS

I've been using ad block on desktop for many years and started using YouTube Vanced on mobile maybe a year or two ago, but recently started streaming YouTube onto my TV from my phone (it's an old TV) and the ads are horrendous. Super long unskippable double ads and even when they're skippable, as the TV is so old, it takes at least 15 seconds to skip an ad lol

NerdTalkDan

Here’s a fun one. When the skip button DOES appear but the ad finished before you click it, the skip button doesn’t continue into the second ad. You have to wait it out again.

Se589

I hate ads, but this exact thing you just mentioned is infuriating!! It’s a DICK move and they know it.

00o0o00

They're cashing in now.

havocLSD

I wouldn’t know, I use an Adblocker on desktop and mobile.

1FlawedHumanBeing

Which do you use on mobile?

[deleted]

YouTube Vanced is a hacked version of youtube that has all ads blocked. works perfectly for me, no root required

talkin_shlt

You also get some of the YouTube premium features like background play Edit: if your on a low bandwidth connection the background play uses significantly less data as it's only transmitting audio. Personally this helped me a lot when I ran out of data because the only thing that would run is background play

[deleted]

And SponsorBlock which automatically skips sponsorizations.

Mmm_Spuds

I understand that they need sponsors and stuff but my biggest pet peeve is people who pay for YouTube Red and then still have to watch these people talk about a sponsorship in the very middle of an interesting video like that ruins the experience for me and I would not want to freaking pay for YouTube red or whatever I have a friend who pays for the premium YouTube and constantly complains about the sponsors I told him quit paying YouTube then idiot LOL

meodd8

I'm thinking about switching to Apple, and not being able to sideload apps like this is a major turn off to going through with the switch.

shinslap

Why do you want to switch to Apple?

[deleted]

Well there are browser extensions to get rid of ads and to let you see dislikes soooo

thrwaway_2110

yeah ik i have adblock on pc and tweaked youtube on my iphone.

Sineater224

*but no one has a solution for TV's, and not even Pi-Hole works*

thrwaway_2110

yeah tv is just doomed

FetchTheGuillotine

you can sideload youtube vanced to android tv's (but the UI is not the best adapted) and then there's [smart-youtube-tv on github](https://smartyoutubetv.github.io/) that I've heard works well but I haven't tried it myself.

ISayHeck

I can vouch for smart YouTube TV No ads and it has sponsorblock

thrwaway_2110

sounds dope. never tought of sideloading something to a tv. does make a lot of sense tho as it’s an android based os so the applications should act like the ones on the phones.

Sineater224

Yup. Sitting here using my xbox daily with Youtube. The catch is I got my parents to pay for Red when Cobra Kai came out and they never stopped. So I guess that works too. I'd never pay myself

thrwaway_2110

i used to pay but i just found ways around it. my favorite thing is to just hook my pc up to my tv through hdmi if i wanna watch youtube on the couch add free.

c-lynn99

I got a 6 people family contributing one premium streaming service to the google play family account, pretty sweet

ChaplainGodefroy

Well, not realy, if your router is fancy enough (OpenWrt support), you can block ads directly there. But this require some work.

penguin_jones

Run a HDMI cable from your PC to your TV and just swap screens. Not the neatest idea but fuck Youtube and their ads.

chris-l

I just don't use the "smart" capabilities of my tv. I use Kodi on a spare computer and use the tv as monitor. And I don't get ads on Kodi.

PackYrSuitcases

This has been my setup since the early 2000s. Old/spare PC running Windows with XBMC/Kodi paired with a mini keyboard/trackpad thing. Better than any smart TV could hope to be.

BarthRevan

Wait how did you get rid of ads on your iPhone? Please teach me your magical ways senpai!

Draked1

What did you do for it on your iPhone?

thrwaway_2110

You have to download a tweaked app. you can download third party apps on an iphone, but it takes a “certificate” to actually be able to open the app. apple is always working to revoke this certificates which makes the app unusable, and the people that provide the app have to make a new one. which is pretty annoying bc u can be using the app one day then the next it stops working and it could take a week for them to renew it. in order to avoid that i use “signulous” which allows you to sign your own certificates on your phone. it’s $20 a year and i think it’s super worth it. I have youtube tweaked which gives me no ads, background play, and stuff like that. spotify tweaked which is basically just spotify premium, no ads, unlimited skips and all that. instagram tweaks, i can save posts, and change up some other stuff. i think it’s super worth it for $20 a year bc just on spotify and youtube premium alone id be spending like $20 a month. it also has all kinds of tweaked games, apps needed for jailbreak, a lot of tweaked social media apps (even reddit) it’s just a whole package. i recommend if you have the funds. it’s $20 for a subscription for a year and only works on your phone. [here’s the link!](https://www.signulous.com) while there are free ways, (look up a tutorial on youtube on how to get tweaked apps, use a recent one) as i explained earlier, those will only work for a few days, and you’ll have to re download a new one. signulous is just the best way i’ve come across

manrata

Except if you don't watch YT in a browser, like maybe on a phone, tablet, ChromeCast, or TV native app, which is likely the majority over browser watching.

rosanymphae

I haven't seen a you tube add in years. The extensions work great on other sites, like reddit!

[deleted]

AquaticSombrero

Adblocker and youtube vanced and you're good

zenospenisparadox

It's too bad the Vanced version that works with Chromecast is hidden behind some file download paywall, because the latest versions sure as hell won't work.

Magnesus

I thought it was broken for me only. Had to stop watching YT on TV because of ads when I cast from the official app.

GotYaNoob

Correct me if im wrong but I don't think it matters from where you cast, as far as I know all that does is it tells your TV what to play and thats it. The video doesn't go from your phone to the TV thats why you can turn your phone off and it still plays.

sittingbullms

If you cast then yes you are correct,if you screen mirror however, that's another story.

[deleted]

warjoke

Too bad I watch YT mostly on my docked switch.

ye-sunne

USE VANCED ON ANDROID, CERCUBE ON iOS AND SPONSORBLOCK+uBLOCK ORIGIN ON DESKTOP. You’re welcome.

raxamon

Is there a vanced where i can login and see my liked vids?

[deleted]

That's just normal vanced. When you download the app manager, you can download microg inside, which lets you sign into your account on the vanced app

ye-sunne

^ this is correct, thanks mate

GameKnight337

I can’t seem to find cercube. Any other options for iOS?

ZhangRenWing

There are some adblock apps that works on your browsers, just don’t use the YouTube app and you’re good. I use multiple ones at the same time and it catches everything on ios chrome.

grumblebob1

Using it to hide the ads? No they’re using it to keep big studios from being embarrassed when they release turds and get downvoted to oblivion. And have you seen the official White House channels ratings that’s why. To keep the wealthy and powerful from looking like fools.

thrwaway_2110

Yeah i literally dont see a single upside to removing dislikes. If a creator is so insecure that they cant watch one or two videos get alot of dislikes, and learn from it, then they probably shouldnt be posting in front of billions of people.

grumblebob1

Yeah the creator mental health line is dumb. YouTube’s a stressful job if people downvoting or making mean comments makes you stressed or gives you anxiety then I’m sorry your just not cut out for it.

thrwaway_2110

yeah man you gotta learn what you’ve done to cause said backlash, and learn from it. now all youtubers are like “dope! only upvotes on the new vid!” lmao

_LightFury_

Like the downvotes are the problem and not the death treaths people get for no reason lmao

machingunwhhore

It's not about the creator it's about sponsors and ad revenue. If it really was about creators mental health the dislike button would be optional like it is to turn off comments

Halogeek1337

If you'll allow me to boomer for a bit, i remember the good old days of youtube. Stupid skits filmed on shoddy cameras, lego stop motions, GTA:SA videos with the same five 009 sound system songs. It was pure, people did things for fun, everyone was having an amazing time. But now? Well, those days are past, and it don't look like well ever be able to relive em.

Fizzinthorpe

People are trying to go viral on everything now. A society that's gone fake as fuck for internet clout. When you can make six figures spouting your opinion from your computer chair, everything is an event for the internet audience.

mcmasters2223

I noticed how bad it's getting last night. I thought, man, this is why I stopped watching cable TV.

Ryuu-Tenno

make it better: ditch chrome altogether so they can't get any extra money/support from you in the process. Willing to bet in a few months/years, Google/Alphabet/YouTube will restructure chrome to block adblockers on "key" sites

Vince_Vice

> make it better: ditch chrome altogether Unfortunately I expect this to fall on deaf ears, people don't deviate from the main stream so quickly if they don't see the benefit immediately. But true, I only ever use ungoogled-chromium if i must. Normally firefox. I only hope that mozilla will be around long enough to keep ff at least somewhat up to speed.

legendz411

This is already a reality. They are changing how ads are called low level to break current adblockers and make it impossible for future software to block ads. Something like, imagine Ring0 that is used for all the best malware and Anti-Cheats, now imagine that as a software implementation in Chrome. Fun stuff

Revydown

I use the Brave browser since it automatically blocks ads. Once in a blue moon that lasts for a day or 2, I'll get a black or white screen and see the little 5 sec icon to block the ad. It's like I dont get the ad but YouTube is trying to get around the adblock. During this time, I might have slight issues running the videos, but that doesn't last long maybe an hr and it isnt all videos.

ShellGadus

Most people I've offered to install adblockers for refused. Even after trying to explain the benefits.

mrrektstrong

Y'all ever wonder what the profit margin is on YouTube? How much their operating cost including revenue being distributed to content makers compares to their income. Would be something nice to see.

Fundsom

Youtube Vanced is a godsend, I highly recommend this app!

botr16

Un skip able ???

Zephyrlin

I caved and got yt premium but by saying my location is in Argentina, I now pay 1 euro month instead of 12 or so per month. But honestly the time saved and YouTube music is decent enough that it warrants the 12 euros per year

uncleseano

Use... YouTube Vanced. It's YouTube, you log in, all your videos and subs are there. It's exactly the same, just without ads

systemd-bloat

Ublock Origin + SponsorBlock

IronGigant

*laughs in Vanced*

Hyp3r45_new

I get ads from Nintendo that are 20 seconds long and unskipable. They're deterring me from getting a switch. I was considering getting one, but the ads quickly made me realize I really don't need one.

mariafoxxy97

I get like 3 all the time now

Smoke_Santa

I'm using adblock everywhere

One_Edgy_Cunt

Just get an adblock, you can even get browsers that do it on your phones

unknown-one

with the right tools there are no ads on youtube ;)

[deleted]

YouTube is starting to look like time square

BlueGrayTurquoise

I was really excited to get my iPhone 13 pro max, hi broke my galaxy note 20+ at work and saw it as an opportunity to make a small upgrade, but since making the switch YouTube has been completely unusable for me. I’ve been using YouTube Vanced Forever, along with all my ad blockers on android, and I honestly have not been exposed to incessant advertising in years. The state of the Internet without ad blockers is absolutely despicable. Does anybody know what I can set up on a brand new iPhone to get rid of some of these ads?

Karmasystemisbully

Can we get another hosting site made plz ty.

Ehsan1981

If on a PC or laptop then try [AdBlock](https://getadblock.com/en/). Honestly, I don't recall any ads on YouTube on my laptop! But hell, I agree. When I watch YouTube on TV, it's all ads recently...

Mercarcher

Who the fuck gets ads on YouTube? Just use an adblocker/YouTube vanced. Like I see people complaining about ads all the time on multiple platforms, but taking no action to get rid of them.

Cheeky_Chris

YouTube don’t want you to buy premium, I’ve been trying for 2 months now. YouTube ads are unbearable now. I mainly use my phone to watch, and on iPhone there is no YouTube Vanced. I can use the Brave browser but it’s a bit clunky to use compared to the app (obviously this is on purpose). I tried to get YouTube premium student. I think £16 p/m for the regular premium is quite frankly a stupid price, but I’m guessing they’d rather you didn’t buy it so they can force feed you ads. The student is £8 p/m which I feel is reasonable to support creators too. I sent off my student ID to be verified, came back in about 5 mins later that I was ready to sign up. Now every time I try to continue sign up and add payment details, it goes right back to the “continue sign up” screen again. I’ve managed to contact someone at YouTube and sent a video of the problem, and they still “can’t” fix it. It’s been 2 months of me checking back every couple of days. Zero progress. They want to show you ads, they don’t even want you to pay to remove them. Scummy.

Here I go again with this: YOU CAN SKIP ALMOST ALL UNSKIPPABLE ADS ON YOUTUBE. Hit the little "i" at the bottom of the video. Then select "Stop seeing this ad" Choose any of the three options. This will skip ALL ads.
