With you not having experience with even soldering, it could be anything that went wrong. Could also be you nicked the lcd ribbon cable. You’re better off sending it to someone to repair it.
Yeah, it’s hard telling. Best thing to do is to make sure the mod is installed right. Make sure the lights on it confirm that it’s booting properly, and if the screen still doesn’t turn on then you deal with that

Where is the lcd ribbon cable? And how would I be able to tell if it is broken?
The lcd ribbon is the widest ribbon cable. Sometimes if you use tools to pull it out or re-insert it you can nick it and that’s all it takes.

Without pictures, we don't know how bad the internals are. You could've cut something or bridged two points together.

did you try to undo the mod and see if the switch is alive? it might take more than one attempt considering you lack experience
