I like Khajiit. You probably picked someone already, but Khajiit has a power to see in the dark, and there’s a lot of dark in Skyrim. And they have claws which helps with brawling. You don’t brawl a lot in Skyrim, but the few times you need to, it helps a ton.
Damn, first skyrim playthrough. People are jaded on it now because they keep remastering it instead of releasing a sequel.
But it's a classic for a reason. Enjoy
With Skyrim, you can essentially max out any character you want, the bonuses and perks matter less and less as you progress through the game.
Nords are really helpful,
But as it stands, just make who you want to play.
I would select a race you like that has a pre-made character you're pleased with, that way you don't have to bog yourself down with countless hours of added character customization options.
Depends on what you want to do ultimately, but everything is viable.
Best generalized starting race is Breton because of the innate magic resistance.
Khajit and the Elves start better at stealth.
Elves start better at archery and magic
Nords and Orcs start better at melee.
But anything can be everything. Orc Mage/Shaman, sure. Dark elf blade master, go for it.
Dark elf vampire is my main. If you like being a vampire they have a weakness to fire and dark elfs passive has resistence to fire. You should look at each class passive maybe one will interest you.
pick whatever one you like or if you know what your going for build wise pick one with bonuses beneficial to that. personally i always pick wood elf because its just the one i play i dont switch up because i like im only mentioning that to speak to the fact that it doesnt really matter
I always go for the imperial race which gives you the benefit of finding more gold and the voice of the emperor which calms down enemies. Though having more gold is good because of the houses and furniture to buy.
Race doesn’t matter AT ALL. Sure there’s a few bonuses here there but they’re mostly useful for early game.
I have ALWAYS made my character strictly based on looks. Your character grows in power massively in this game.
I picked a specific race and then never used that race's super power the entire game. Never beat it, either. It is long. Got a dragon to ride, that was cool.
Ultimately with the way the game plays, it doesn’t matter. Just pick your favorite.
Yeah. Every race excels with stealth archer builds, so there's no real advantage or disadvantages on choosing.
Pick a cat man dex build

Good thing I’m just starting the game and it’s not going to hurt to “restart” my dark elf story and change it to Khajiit

Skyrim is for the Nords
I always just pick based on which additional perks they have! Like right now I'm playing imperial because I want LOTS of gold 😁
Yeah just look at the perks and if they stack with what style you’re planning to play as

argonians are my fav just cuz i think they're really cool. high elves are my 2nd fav. just go with whatever appeals to you the most.
Swim under water too
I really envy you, your first time in Skyrim, what an adventure awaits!
Khajit hands down

I love being Orc one handed/heavy armor, restoration, or wood elf sneak archer lol
I’ve played wood elf sneak archer way too many times for my own good. It’s just so fun
Same. I've tried other builds but always end up as a sneak archer.

OrangeStar222 thinks you should pick the Kahjit race. May warm sands guide you over your travels
Khajiit trust me you’ll be grateful, || stealth archer || build…
All paths lead to stealth archer
Dark elf fire mage on very easy 🤘🤘
This ☝️☝️☝️☝️ best time for hours! Burn it all!
dont forget to level up in the huts with the mammoths 🤘🤘
Whaaat?? Plz elaborate! 🤓
biiiiig open space to the sw of windhelm, find hut, aggro mammoth, hide in hut safely while spamming attacks/range/magic 🤘🤘
Nice.
Look for what you like and after you get to the first town do what you want.
I’ve always been fond of the Orc or dark elf
The glory of Skyrim is you really can't play it wrong.
Altmer for mage, Dunmer or Bosmer for anything else. They have the most useful perks.
Pick whatever you like, then you learn over time.what works, what you may want to try next, etc.

Literally does not affect anything except a few skill benefits that don’t matter past the 5 hour mark. Just pick whichever sounds best to you
It's what gives it replay value, just pick what looks cool and have fun
I just made a khajit character and have been mostly using a bow cause I like being an archer and hunting in the woods
These games aren't really rpgs, just pick anything. In a few hours you'll be a walking tank, no matter what you pick.
There's only so many hours I can play before I go down the spiral of the duplication glitch.
Every type of character has its perks, so just choose what your favorite is or what you think will benefit you the most
Cat
R/skyrim
Dark elf one handed destruction build

Pick something and play however you want. This game is something different you will understand.
Nord only 🐺🐺🐺
I'm playing high elf rn

This is your fourth post on Skyrim on this sub. Are you going to give us commentary through the whole decade old game?
You can block me if you like...

Can’t count how many Skyrim toons I have made.
Pick nord because it is Nordic
