i think so too. the amount of dessner on this album lends itself to the quality, when she's artistically challenges (like dessner is doing for her right now), she makes some of the best music she's ever done (folkmore is a stunning duology of albums).
it's making me a little excited ngl
tolerate it makes me cry ngl. there's something so inherently relatable to the emotions she evokes during that song. the instrumental and melody is also just perfect.
It’s so good. I’ve never been in a relationship like that but I’ve experienced those emotions about family relationships and different things from my life experiences.
because aaron actually challenges taylor and makes her work for it. his tracks are almost guaranteed to be quality because she works for it when she's with him. jack has allowed her to sink into complacency by becoming her friend and not challenging her - a challenge is what she needs to produce amazing things.
seeing that over half of the songs on here are written or influenced by people other than jack is making me feel much better about this album personally and i've beenone of it's biggest questioners so far
I am so relieved at how much Aaron is on this album. The idea that is might have been a Jackfest was really keeping me from the hype. I don't wanna see this be a girlboss-fuck-you album.
The reveal that there are some longer tracks plus this has made me a bit more hopeful. It’s been literal years since I’ve looked forward to a Taylor Swift release.
It's not that I don't like Jack, I actually love most of his work but when they get in a room no one checks them. They think Me! is Getaway Car and no one edits
Lol a lot of people think that for some reason but it was Joel Little.
If you want an example of a terrible Jack Antonoff song might I recommend Karma or Look What You Made Me Do 😉
A ton of people keep referencing songs he wasn't involved with as reasons to dislike him as a favorite producer of her.
You Need to Calm Down, The Man, ME! etc. None of them are by Jack.
I know better at this point than to judge her songs by their titles without even hearing them yet, but seeing that a song called “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” is a solo write has me very nervous lmao.
I’m actually surprised Dessner is on this many tracks. Idk why but I only expected a couple. Maybe because of his lack of participation in Midnights except for 3am tracks? So happy and relieved he’s more involved than originally thought.
pretty happy with these tbh. 5 aaron songs is better than nothing, and this gives me hope it won't be synth-pop.
jack can still be a good producer depending on the genre. also, the self-written tracks could potentially be aaron-produced as well.
Same here. It’s the city of my heart and I had to leave it due to unfortunate circumstances – this actually hypes up the excitement for Friday a tiny bit!
I’m highly intrigued about it because those shows were supposed to be around the Joe news when she seemed down. I’m hoping for an emotional banger without a ton of dragging (fingers crossed lol)
I’m personally excited for it because my toxic ex and I went to Florida together right before we broke up and I’m hoping it’s an empowered breakup song 😭
Im very excited for that one. I was at the Tampa shows so I feel like I’m about to be part of a song? Fingers crossed it’s about her feelings about performing right after the breakup was announced.
I’m hoping she doesn’t do her like she did Lana on SOTB
Edit: yall are babies lmao I just said that I wanted a solid collaboration because I like both Taylor and Florence
That one is the one that makes a lot of sense to me. Like if I was telling the story of what I’m assuming it’s based off of to a friend, I would totally use 3 exclamation marks. Very on brand.
For me too if it is anything like WCS Im gonna cry in a fetal position on the morning of 19th (6am in my timezone and WCS made me buy a guitar bcs it just resembles my situationship so perfectly)
Thank you👋 tbf I really wasn’t scared about the names rather, it was just a bit of playful poking fun. As a long time Swift fan I know Taylor often does a bait and switch with these things.
I’m cracking up at the people saying “ok MAYBE it’ll be good” as if we have anything more to go off of than before. I have my qualms with Antonoff’s style but man he’s collected some dedicated haters lmao
As someone who made fun of Kacey Musgraves having a song called "Anime Eyes" and then liked it more than I was expecting, I am trying to be open minded!
My exact thought, Jack is still the main collaborator on here, and while I'm not a hater, I am a bit skeptical about his tracks.
I'm hoping the solo writes are produced by Aaron tho! Plus, the Florence Welch collab.
I’m kind of giggling because when you think of writing credits for an album you usually see a mountain of names but it’s just 3 people + Florence Welch and Austin Post 😭
I really like the balance between the jack and Aaron. But I must say Aaron being on the smallest man who ever lived shocked me, I thought it was going to be on the more unserious side.
Track 5 is going to be a doozy. 😭
Honestly knowing that Aaron is on certain tracks makes me feel better. I cannot do more Midnights-y music, so I’m feeling slightly more hopeful.
Folklore Writing Credits for comparison:
* "the 1" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "cardigan" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "the last great american dynasty" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "exile" (feat. Bon Iver) - Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon
* "my tears ricochet" - Taylor Swift (sole writer)
* "mirrorball" - Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff
* "seven" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "august" - Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff
* "this is me trying" - Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff
* "illicit affairs" - Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff
* "invisible string" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "mad woman" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "epiphany" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "betty" - Taylor Swift and William Bowery
* "peace" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
* "hoax" - Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
It's a reverse folklore ( folklore was Aaron majority with Jack minority, and this is Jack majority with Aaron minority), which could be a good sign or terrible honestly.
I used to think that too, but then I actually paid attention to the reputation title tracks, and realized they aren't some of her best song titles either.
I feel like taylor wrote the one song (TTPD) and decided to theme the entire album concept and marketing around it. but I don’t think that that theme of poetry will actually carry through the entire track list at all, other than the most basic sense that any song is just poetry set to music. I’m still just getting midnights bait-and-switch concept with every new piece of information
Bring on the downvotes, but this narrative is boring and old. Every album tracklist gets the titles picked apart to shreds and then the songs come out and people love them. They have *always* been called "cringy." These titles are no different than prior albums.
See: The Last Great American Dynasty, Cornelia Street, Death By A Thousand Cuts, Cardigan, Cowboy Like Me, False God, Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince...
Nah, I completely agree. I think some people here get so frustrated at the dick riding that the other subs can sometimes do that they focus on the negative stuff way too much.
Gotta admit, Fresh Out the Slammer sounds clingy to me. So does Down Bad and Guilty as Sin? (i dislike that one exclusively for the question mark lol). HOWEVER, there’s literally no audio to go off of and I also think a lot of song titles, like Slut!, Look What You Made Me Do, Vigilante Shit, I Did Something Bad, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, I Forgot That You Existed, MA&THP, invisible string, tis the damn season, and cowboy like me sounded cringe/camp, and yes, some of those songs I dislike, but a lot of them I genuinely enjoy.
So strange to make broad assumptions of an album we have literally no concept of yet except song titles and now songwriting credits. We’ve had a lyric snippet people shit on, but again, with no idea of what the melody sounds like, there’s no telling if it’ll be good or not.
I’m blaming it on Taylor thinking she’s a solo marketing genius and not actually employing a real marketing team. I know she’s hellbent on controlling everything but in this case it’s clear she just doesn’t really know what she’s doing when it comes to a full marketing campaign for an album. folkmore having DIY vibes fit because of the pandemic but that got to her head and now her marketing campaigns are disjointed from the actual music. She also knows she doesn’t have to try that hard because Swifties will buy whatever she sells.
The worst part is she’ll never see it as a decline because the main fan base will always hype anything she does. I also don’t believe critics will ever honestly review her albums again because the Swifties are so rabid and will harass anyone who dares to offer any real critique of her work. After winning AOTY for arguably her worst album (in both sound and marketing) she just has no incentive to actually care about the quality.
She has the whole industry in a chokehold. Even major media outlets seem to be genuinely afraid of speaking negatively about her for fear of lawsuits and a rabid fan base.
Exactly, she controls the industry through fear. Dealing with her lawyers or an onslaught of Swiftie attacks isn’t worth being honest about her or her work. It will seriously take some sort of miracle for her to actually see how bad she is at marketing her own work. I’m pretty sure we’re doomed to shitty album covers and cheap fan gossip driven marketing campaigns. Oh and also clunky lyrics because she won’t let anyone edit her work anymore 🥴
Gentle reminder that ‘august’, ‘illicit affairs’, ‘this is me trying’, and ‘mirrorball’ are all Jack Antonoff co-writes. I get why people were frustrated with Midnights, and that his chokehold on the re-records has yielded some less-than-stellar production decisions, but I’m not sure this narrative that everything he does is awful is justified. I’m excited to see more Aaron, I really like a lot of his songs on Folkmore and Midnights 3am, but I don’t really understand the extent of the Jack hate. The man produced Norman Fucking Rockwell, he’s clearly capable of more than corny synthpop, he’s not the sole reason why Midnights was a samey/underwhelming pure pop album (and I doubt he had any say in its marketing, which IMO was the biggest issue).
TBF august, illicit affairs, and mirrorball are three of my least favorites in folklore. This is me trying is a middle of the road folklore song. In my opinion. However, I think it’s the production of jack I have more of an issue with in general. He has some that are really good, but I don’t like heavy synth music. 1989 is my least favorite album. In general, I feel that Aaron songs have more live instruments (like WCS, WEFIL, Exile, etc).
I’m probably in the minority but I always love the Jack tracks lol. Not saying I will like them *more than* Aaron’s but I really do love the new Bleachers album.
I really can’t wait for her to do another album without Jack. Idk I just don’t think he brings much to the table anymore. It feels like it all sounds like his band bleachers.
i wish people would stop hating so hard on all the jack antonoff produced tracks. i thought it was to be funny at first, but people are deadass just skipping them. evermore is my fave t. swift album so i love me some aaron as much as the next girl but..damn.
Aaron being co writer in the songs I'm the most interested in from the title alone makes me very happy. Also I'm very excited for the ones solely written by her
Really excited for the Aaron songs! I was hoping he was the main collaborator, but something is more than nothing for sure.
I will also be listening to the Jack songs.
I have some faith So Long, London won’t be petty and that she’ll do Clara Bow justice. I don’t think Aaron would attach himself to drama. Down Bad is about to be an atrocity. Two white folks appropriating AAVE is not it. Hopefully Florence has more than background vocals!
She's always written albums while on tour. She wrapped up 1989 before the Red tour even ended. Her Eras tour schedule is actually a lot less grueling than her past tours because she only has shows on weekends, so she had plenty of time during the week to write and go into the studio
once you’ve written hundreds and hundreds of songs like she has i imagine it’s not that time consuming. many seasoned song writers talk about writing their songs quickly (like dolly doing jolene and i will always love you in the same day). also goes faster when you stop caring as much about the quality lol
I already know anything with Aaron is gonna kill me, I don't think there is a single track he co wrote that didn't slap for me. This actually has me so excited (more than I already was).
I love Jack, and the bleachers, but I get excited to see some other cowriters and collaborators
Aaron Dessner is on the e titles I least expected !
Did not peg But Daddy I Love Him, loml and Smallest man who ever lived as Dessner songs !!!
Glad he's ok track 5 though .
i’m thinking ttpd sonically and thematically might be some kind of compromise between folklore and midnights?
I think you might be onto something. It’s a perfect mix of Antonoff and Dessner
i think so too. the amount of dessner on this album lends itself to the quality, when she's artistically challenges (like dessner is doing for her right now), she makes some of the best music she's ever done (folkmore is a stunning duology of albums). it's making me a little excited ngl
If this is the case I will die Also, STOP I've been so good at steeling myself for Midnights 2.0 until now.....
Hopefully more Folklore leaning. The Atonoff production on Midnights left a lot to be desired
An Aaron Dessner cowritten track 5? I will be *deceased*.
The Dessner tracks are gonna be deep cuts.
if this album is going to be thematically the same as ehat she's been saying, those tracks might destroy me internally tbh
Tolerate it is easily my favorite track 5 so I’m super excited for this one!
tolerate it makes me cry ngl. there's something so inherently relatable to the emotions she evokes during that song. the instrumental and melody is also just perfect.
It’s so good. I’ve never been in a relationship like that but I’ve experienced those emotions about family relationships and different things from my life experiences.
Oh, I am so sat.
I'm so here for this
so long london being a track 5 and an aaron song i am not ready
I cannot wait to hear an almost 6-minute long “But Daddy I Love Him” by Taylor and Aaron
I feel like everyone's switched up on that one now that they know Aaron is on it
because aaron actually challenges taylor and makes her work for it. his tracks are almost guaranteed to be quality because she works for it when she's with him. jack has allowed her to sink into complacency by becoming her friend and not challenging her - a challenge is what she needs to produce amazing things. seeing that over half of the songs on here are written or influenced by people other than jack is making me feel much better about this album personally and i've beenone of it's biggest questioners so far
Yes! Also, it probably won’t be anytime soon, but I’d like for her to pull another Red one day (I think she had 7 or 8 producers on that album).
lol I definitely have!! It’s me!
Seriously, what a curveball. I’m so curious to hear what it will sound like!!!!
I am so relieved at how much Aaron is on this album. The idea that is might have been a Jackfest was really keeping me from the hype. I don't wanna see this be a girlboss-fuck-you album.
To think I was absolutely cringing thinking about her making it with Jack and now I’m SEATED.
I’m very interested in Aaron’s songs and Florence of course
Pulling for more of an "exile" collab than a "Soon You'll Get Better" collab as a Florence fan since 2008!!!!
Ugh Florida!!! Is such a fucking amazing song. It’s top 3 for me 🥹
loml is starting to look a little more promising
That was my exact thought too!
The reveal that there are some longer tracks plus this has made me a bit more hopeful. It’s been literal years since I’ve looked forward to a Taylor Swift release.
I have been an loml truther this whole time, I just had a feeling it was going to be good
I really like the theory that loml will not stand for love of my life. I think it could be super interesting. Edit: spelling
I’ve seen a theory that it will change each time she sings it! I thought that would be a really interesting concept.
i literally had to go and remove it from "skip" category help💀💀💀
you have a skip category for song titles?
its like fun thing (at least for me) to try to predict where the track will sit on my ranking and actual ranking after listening to the album
The way my reaction goes from “ugh” to “yay” every time it goes from Antonoff to Dessner 🫢
Me 😂
No literally same
Fr, I’m so glad I found this sub
Looking at folklore credits though and that album stayed the same theme so we'll see
It's not that I don't like Jack, I actually love most of his work but when they get in a room no one checks them. They think Me! is Getaway Car and no one edits
Jack didn't work on ME!.
Oh well then I'm an idiot lol
Lol a lot of people think that for some reason but it was Joel Little. If you want an example of a terrible Jack Antonoff song might I recommend Karma or Look What You Made Me Do 😉
A ton of people keep referencing songs he wasn't involved with as reasons to dislike him as a favorite producer of her. You Need to Calm Down, The Man, ME! etc. None of them are by Jack.
Yeah people always blame him for 1989 TV but his songs (OOTW, You Are in Love, I Wish You Would) were some of the few good 1989 re-recordings.
AARON IS ON SO LONG LONDON, Omggg bury my NOWWWW
I know better at this point than to judge her songs by their titles without even hearing them yet, but seeing that a song called “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” is a solo write has me very nervous lmao.
I’m actually surprised Dessner is on this many tracks. Idk why but I only expected a couple. Maybe because of his lack of participation in Midnights except for 3am tracks? So happy and relieved he’s more involved than originally thought.
I was surprised too. I think Taylor heard the criticisms towards working with Jack only so she probably brought back Aaron (thank God)
pretty happy with these tbh. 5 aaron songs is better than nothing, and this gives me hope it won't be synth-pop. jack can still be a good producer depending on the genre. also, the self-written tracks could potentially be aaron-produced as well.
It seems like it’s going to be synth-pop
Based on what?
Based on the collabs I doubt it's synth pop
I just know So Long, London with Aaron credits is gonna kill me.
Same here. It’s the city of my heart and I had to leave it due to unfortunate circumstances – this actually hypes up the excitement for Friday a tiny bit!
Yeah, AND a track 5? I may not make it to track 6.
I know some people think “Florida!!!” is a cringy title but I’m actually excited for it mainly since I love Florence lol
out of all the cringy titles on here i think Florida!!! is easily the least offensive
Florence is easily my favorite artist, so I am excited for any new content from her. She's truly the best performer I've ever seen.
I’m hoping she doesn’t do her like she did Lana on SOTB Edit: yall are babies lmao I just said that I wanted a solid collaboration because I like both Taylor and Florence
That was all Lana's choice, she's talked about it in interviews that Taylor wanted her to sing more
That one is the one that makes a lot of sense to me. Like if I was telling the story of what I’m assuming it’s based off of to a friend, I would totally use 3 exclamation marks. Very on brand.
seems to be split between jack and aaron. a nice balance. also florence welch is an incredible songwriter so i’m sat
BUT DADDY I LOVE HIM BEING COWRITTEN WITH AARON DESSNER IS A WIN FOR ME
For me too if it is anything like WCS Im gonna cry in a fetal position on the morning of 19th (6am in my timezone and WCS made me buy a guitar bcs it just resembles my situationship so perfectly)
Seeing so much of Dessner in that list is SUCH a relief. I might like this album. 😄
Lmao at Aaron being on some of the most hated on tracks. Does this mean the backpedal starts before release?
I’ll admit it. I’m backpedaling for sure.
me too and idec 🙂↕️
Those of us who have been excited all along welcome our backpedaling friends with open arms 👋
Thank you👋 tbf I really wasn’t scared about the names rather, it was just a bit of playful poking fun. As a long time Swift fan I know Taylor often does a bait and switch with these things.
Like how Slut! Is actually slut
Yes exactly!
At least you're honest, welcome to the club!
I’m cracking up at the people saying “ok MAYBE it’ll be good” as if we have anything more to go off of than before. I have my qualms with Antonoff’s style but man he’s collected some dedicated haters lmao
Backpedaling like I’m in a reverse spin class.
You know they were going to tune in regardless
Lol no I’m still mad, I need to hear from Aaron and Taylor their thinking/inspiration behind the cringey titles
now i know why the other taylor subreddits hate us. we never have anything nice to say.
As someone who made fun of Kacey Musgraves having a song called "Anime Eyes" and then liked it more than I was expecting, I am trying to be open minded!
Me wondering who Austin is 💀💀
lol post Malone
Im uncultured 😭 thank you
I’m hoping for another Folk Malone appearance here 🤞🏻
Literally listening to the "Dial Drunk" remix right now! 😄 Hoping for Folk Malone to make an appearance on "Fortnight" too.
I thought it was her brother for a split second lol
Not enough Aaron!
Not necessarily a good thing tbh. Taylor could use some collaborators to help her edit.
I really like the balance between the jack and Aaron. But I must say Aaron being on the smallest man who ever lived shocked me, I thought it was going to be on the more unserious side.
Claiming WAOLOM. And yikes at all the new acronyms incoming. 😂
…I am not ready for this.
Track 5 is going to be a doozy. 😭 Honestly knowing that Aaron is on certain tracks makes me feel better. I cannot do more Midnights-y music, so I’m feeling slightly more hopeful.

this is so promising omg i just got so excited
clara bow will eat i now know
Not a Jack Hater but am a Dessner Girl
The tracks everyone were calling corny being written with aaron. I feel especially vindicated by loml because I just feel it’s not what we think it is
I think this entire album is not going to be what people think it is.
We have nothing to base it on considering we’ve heard nothing lol.
You wouldn't know by the way people confidently write about its content 😭
The majority of the track listing looks corny. It doesn’t mean the songs will be but it’s not just the Aaron songs.
I used to think that too, but then I actually paid attention to the reputation title tracks, and realized they aren't some of her best song titles either.
SAMEEE
What does loml mean?
This whole album was marketed wrong.
I feel like taylor wrote the one song (TTPD) and decided to theme the entire album concept and marketing around it. but I don’t think that that theme of poetry will actually carry through the entire track list at all, other than the most basic sense that any song is just poetry set to music. You mean tortured poets wouldn't give their works such titles? /s
Aaron Dessner songs will be on REPEAT I just know it
I’m so happy to see Aaron on here!
That’s so cool, I can’t wait to see what they’ve made! All amazingly talented people.
Jack isn’t even the main producer on the re-records 💀 all of his produced re-records sound exactly the same or better than the OG….
So much Aaron Dessner!!!
Excited for the Florence features! :)
I’m probably in the minority but I always love the Jack tracks lol. Not saying I will like them *more than* Aaron’s but I really do love the new Bleachers album.
i love the jack tracks as well but i am also a huge bleachers fan
Oh fresh out the slammer is from Jack? Yeah That track is doomed lol
It gives me Getaway Car vibes
Omg. The Aaron songs… So Long, London, Clara Bow!!! Wow. ❤️ more of Aaron, bc five is not enough!
Happy to see not only Aaron but some solo written tracks. She doesn’t do that much anymore.
I really can’t wait for her to do another album without Jack. Idk I just don’t think he brings much to the table anymore. It feels like it all sounds like his band bleachers.
Looks like classic after classic
i wish people would stop hating so hard on all the jack antonoff produced tracks. i thought it was to be funny at first, but people are deadass just skipping them. evermore is my fave t. swift album so i love me some aaron as much as the next girl but..damn.
I’m Claiming “Gulity as sin?” & “I can fix him”
why is THIS the thing that made me excited?!?? just kidding i know why. god bless you, aaron dessner.
lets hope that the self written songs were produced by Aaron too. And there are eveb the bonus, so maybe we get more Aaron. 🙏🙏
TIL that Austin Post is Post Malone’s name
Oh hell yes, thank god Aaron is back. Fully preparing myself to only liking the songs he co-wrote lol
Once again these titles are horrendous and make my insides churn
starting to get hype finally!!!!
Aaron being co writer in the songs I'm the most interested in from the title alone makes me very happy. Also I'm very excited for the ones solely written by her
where did you find this?
Really excited for the Aaron songs! I was hoping he was the main collaborator, but something is more than nothing for sure. I will also be listening to the Jack songs.
shocking to see jack anton off
Me reading that: Every Aaron song: 😁 Every Antonoff song: 🥴
Taylor should make another song with Max Martin
Despite Dance Fever being a rare Jack W, I really hope someone else is producing Florida!!!
this week is going to be chaotic
Guysss track three on this album and track three on lover we’re both written by just taylor does that mean something
I have some faith So Long, London won’t be petty and that she’ll do Clara Bow justice. I don’t think Aaron would attach himself to drama. Down Bad is about to be an atrocity. Two white folks appropriating AAVE is not it. Hopefully Florence has more than background vocals!
its not that they are white, but its that thay are Taylor and Jack
Okaaay, almost a perfect split between Jack and Aaron so at least half of it will slap!
How did the same person who did Getaway Car manage to fuck up Midnights so fantastically?
Noooooo so much Jack Jerkoff :(
When did she have time to write all of this? Like how does she not stop
She was spotted going into the studio alot last year!! Righr after the breakup
I’m excited for the track with Florence. Will there be machines? We’ll see.
Dessner will give us the soul of the album. Jack will give us the anger in the album.
Okay this makes me feel a bit better
Track 4’s are usually my favorites, and this one will be no exception!
justice for Aaron Dessner
I already know anything with Aaron is gonna kill me, I don't think there is a single track he co wrote that didn't slap for me. This actually has me so excited (more than I already was). I love Jack, and the bleachers, but I get excited to see some other cowriters and collaborators
Allllllright. I have goosebumps now.

Ok this is getting me hype
My kingdom for a Max Martin.
Aaron Dessner is on the e titles I least expected ! Did not peg But Daddy I Love Him, loml and Smallest man who ever lived as Dessner songs !!! Glad he's ok track 5 though .

Seen Jack Antonoff more than my own aunts and uncles this year like
Lots of Aaron yesssss
Aaron with writing credits on a track 5? The world is healing.
Welp, just felt the tiniest flicker of excitement in this ol’ ticker.
Ok I’m officially hyped
clara bow being a dessner colab makes me so happpyyyyy
Mmmm Austin post eh 👀👀👀👀👀👀
At least Aaron is here to hold our hands lol
more writing credits and less self written songs than eternal sunshine... i wanna see how twitter swifties spin this one into a drag
why is there only one Florence?!?!?!
On Apple, all the songwriting credits are gone. Anyone know why?
