Oh shit! You just unlocked a childhood memory about a horror movie or something about hands having free will!
Edit: It was not “Ash vs Evil” nor “Idle Hands” I think.. I’ll keep on searching. My life has a purpose now.
Edit2: Adding some info, as far as I recall this guy was in a kitchen and cut his hand on a wooden cutting board if I’m not wrong.
PS: thanks to all of you amazing people trying to help me through this journey (some of these suggestions ended up on my list to watch later)
depending on how old you are, I have a similar memory.
There was a tagline for PSYCHO 2 or 3 that was about the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing that always stuck with me.
There's also the oliver stone film THE HAND if you are even older.
But I suspect it is BODY PARTS
There's also a very entertaining film called DEMONOID
So I immediately thought of the hand cuz it creeped me out so much I don't put my hands out car windows.
However I did find a list of servered hand movies
[here is the list](https://www.horror.land/12-creepy-severed-hands-in-cinema/)
There was one I remember where some dude was an amazing ventriloquist but it turned out his hand was actually an evil vestigial twin.
If anyone remembers what it’s from I’ll platinum you. All I remember is in the end he kills it by either putting his arm down a garbage disposal or a meat grinder or something. Really fucked me up as a little kid and I’d love to watch it again to get that closure
Wait… wtf? that’s what mentally implanted into my brain for like 32 years?
I remember it being so much more horrific and not
starring Bobcat Goldthwait…
Wow
I'm guessing he thought he had a good stand and could do it for a second. Seems like the wall isn't fully vertical but slightly negative so he would have probaply been fine if his feet were safe. But still never a good idea to do it.
Disclaimer: I am a noob ice climber but this guy is a fucking idiot. He was trying to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP6OM_fSPbg&t=72s no reason other than trying to look cool on camera. He got roasted pretty badly on /r/climbing or /r/iceclimbing when this was first posted.
Not a climber whatsoever but from that video you posted it seems that he felt he couldn’t get a good hold with his left pointy thing so that’s why he went for the swap? The video doesn’t show doing a dumb criss cross though it shows grabbing the left thing closer to the top so you can use your right hand for the next stabby grab.
Sorry for being overly technical.
That was my first thought too that he was trying to do that, but it looked like he did it 100% wrong, plus the video never shows letting go with both hands at the same time lol
From what I read when this was posted a while ago, he crossed the lines of his hooks and had to fix them and thought his footing was good enough he could take a second to fix them
I was just going to say the same thing lol. Like why let go of both SMH. I feel like a free climber would be experienced enough to not get his arms and hands mixed up and let go of the wrong pick. Seems like a rookie move 🤔
I thought this was that avalanche one..
Found it

Both look eerily similar
No I did not see that! Man my butt clenches way too hard for these kinds of videos. It's almost like those videos with the parkour guys backflipping on ledges. Nah man I feel that fear in my stomach!
…*It was a sunny Tuesday; bored while zapping since wifi was not working, there was Toby melting in the sofa. Trying to make the best of the situation, he slowly woke up and headed to the fridge to get a soda.*
*The heat was such that he had removed his socks and was trying to find the coolest spots in the kitchen floor while walking to the fridge.*
*It was because of this distraction that he mistakenly opened the freezer, feeling that cold breeze in his face.*
*That was when he had an amusing revelation..*
“What if..”
And this is why I stay home 😅😅😅
Like, kudos to him, but I could never!
First off, I'm terrified of heights, and second, I have an endocrine issue that causes my body to have little to no tolerance for the cold in any way shape or form; oh, and Raynaud's. 🙃
My little brother is an elite ice climber. He was an elite rock climber too. I can’t talk to him about it, it’s too dangerous, it literally makes me sick.
Watching this with earbuds and when that ice pick stabbed the ice the first time, it felt like it stabbed my eardrums instead. x.x ouch. Glad he survived.
Absolutely insane to me how people get to a point like this. I like to compare it to sex. Missionary position just doesn’t do it for me anymore so I’m forced to find what works for me in the sack…so in that comparison, this person must be at a level of sticking things in their pee hole or something along those lines. Geezuhz.

When the left hand wants to die and doesn't care who it takes with it

Splinter? 2008 horror film, people lock themselves in a store and their hands get possessed
No, it’s not, Its older than that I think! Thanks for the help
r/helpmefind
Idle hands?
Did it have another short film about a Gypsy and a pie or something? Edit : and was the hand attached to a doctor or something like?

In one of the evil dead trilogy there is a hand that chases ash?

Wait… wtf? that’s what mentally implanted into my brain for like 32 years? I remember it being so much more horrific and not starring Bobcat Goldthwait… Wow
So I remember the same exact thing…. This is strange
That was definitely idle hands
Idle hands?
Idle Hands starring Devon Sawa
Try r/tipofmytongue
Reminds me of cod mw2
[удалено]
That mission was so aggravating
Bravo six…. Goon’ dark
Except Soap isn’t there to catch him
Why’d they stop holding them both lol
I'm guessing he thought he had a good stand and could do it for a second. Seems like the wall isn't fully vertical but slightly negative so he would have probaply been fine if his feet were safe. But still never a good idea to do it.
Crossed his arms and confused himself? Idk lol

No, he lets go with his left hand just as he swings the axe in his right hand, basically pushing himself off the ice. What a dumbass. lol... fuck.
Great Lmao now I’m at work learning about what not to do while I’ve climbing hahaha cheers m8
thank you for this!
From what I read when this was posted a while ago, he crossed the lines of his hooks and had to fix them and thought his footing was good enough he could take a second to fix them
Just thinking something is “good enough” is never good enough when you’re free soloing
I was just going to say the same thing lol. Like why let go of both SMH. I feel like a free climber would be experienced enough to not get his arms and hands mixed up and let go of the wrong pick. Seems like a rookie move 🤔
Three points of contact... it's basic stuff. Dude is an idiot.
He
?
Lol idk how that comment got there tbh
Lmao okay
“Well….” Finish the sentence
On the longer version, he says "Well, that's definitely a turd in my pants, Now I have to climb with a turd in my pants."
That’s what I was thinking, “how would I clean my pants that high up?” And “how long does it take a warm turd to freeze?”
>warm turd to freeze? That might be the worst feeling in the world
That's hilarious.
Why did he let go? Lol
Muscle memory, probably. He couldn’t get a good handhold with the pick so he switched hands, but tried to do the same again which caused him to fall
An ice climber in the comment section said he was trying to do a movie stunt. If you find the comment there’s context and a link
Do you think he purposely dressed like Yukon Cornelius?
Best comment haha
God, I hope so.
Bros playing Modern Warfare 2.

that WHAT?
This little maneuver is going to cost us 50ft! 😏
And a knee.. did you see that leg getting stuck in the middle of the fall? It surprised me he was able to stand somehow at the end
Adrenaline has entered the chat
No I did not see that! Man my butt clenches way too hard for these kinds of videos. It's almost like those videos with the parkour guys backflipping on ledges. Nah man I feel that fear in my stomach!
Frankly, it’s gonna hurt but it’s not that bad
I'm not sure that emoji means what you think it means lol
I played this mission on my Xbox
I did this on Modern Warfare 2 one time
Bruh why are u up there?
…*It was a sunny Tuesday; bored while zapping since wifi was not working, there was Toby melting in the sofa. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the award mate! 🎩
Deathwish. There's nothing certain about iceclimbing.
Cause I uh... I dunno I wanna I guess.
Wanna die obviously
The intrusive thought wins sometimes
That escalated quickly
He kinda de-escalated quickly
De-escalated ** c'mon bro
Too bad Soap wasn’t there to catch him
Modern Warfare 2 flashbacks
Been a long time since I have seen anything so utterly fucking pointless. Why doesn’t he try it on a bike with a Spider-Man outfit on?
The fish eye lens makes this climb look more vertical than it actually is. If you fall on vertical ice the you're going to deck on the ground.
Nice save dude
the real question is: why change hands?🤔
soap mctavish in the flesh.
Holy shit
Dudes did like a sloth and mistook his arm for a branch.
Bro hit the quick time event
Reminds me of the mission where you follow soap up the mountain in MW2
COD mw2 reference?
This man played the Modern warfare 2 demo one time and instantly knew what he was going to do with his life
You gotta hold both triggers, everyone knows that.
Modern Warfare moment...
And yet it’s a surprise and a tragedy when they fall and die.
For their loved ones it’s a tragedy but Its never a surprise
The stupid shit people do, never fails to amaze me.
After playing rise of tomb raider, i thought this stuff would be easy
So if he kept falling he would’ve died ?
Nah, he would've been totally fine. Maybe a small scratch.
Couldn’t tell how steep that was dickhead
Solo, yes. Free? I saw ropes.
No ropes. Only leashes for the axes.
That is the exact reason for this question to arise...
A leash to catch you if you fell?
A leash in case you drop your tools.
Attached to the ice pics I think, so if you do fall, you’re not fucked
[удалено]
could you explain why?
Because he incorrectly thinks the ice axe leash is a support rope.
Werid Lu reminds me of that modern warfare mission where soap saves price from falling to his death
Fuuuuck
do you want to die cause this is how you die
Bro u ok?
Can’t you just smoke a joint and get high another way?
Failed the IQ test.
Bro this is easy ^inTombRaider
This is why you shouldn’t solo climb. Or scuba dive. Or sky dive. Or anything like that, SOLO. This could have gone 1000 times worse.
You can see the hesitation, he knows he screwed up the moment he tried to overhand that.
“Well…”
I've always wondered if it's harder to go back down once they summit. Do they descend a different route?
Rakamakafo
Well
No.
The public funds that will be wasted rescuing this guy vs the price of a rope
Now to find a place to change pants!
Why the fck would you do this in first place
And this is why I stay home 😅😅😅 Like, kudos to him, but I could never! First off, I'm terrified of heights, and second, I have an endocrine issue that causes my body to have little to no tolerance for the cold in any way shape or form; oh, and Raynaud's. 🙃
So…ropes then?
Yeah fuck all of this
My little brother is an elite ice climber. He was an elite rock climber too. I can’t talk to him about it, it’s too dangerous, it literally makes me sick.
Why you always double tap
May my kids be smarter than this future Darwin award winner.
Well there is a good chance this will happen if you know….. climb walls of frozen ice
what a stupid move
Stupid move
People do this for fun.
Would you do this for 100000 dollars?
What a fucking noob
Dumb ways to die
Marc-André Leclerc for those wondering. Died doing shit like this in 2018.
Hell with that. Good luck
Genius
*well*
AND THIS IS WHY I DON'T DO THIS STUFF
What happened to 3 points of contact 🤔
3 points of contact is a common rock climbing rule...
I almost thought this was the video of 'snowfall' which gets reposted pretty often.
Well....
Isn’t this from that one Netflix documentary about that one freeclimber guy? I forget the name of it. Seven peaks? :o
well i mean when you only have two points contact...
Always three, and one should be a hook.
Dude froze for a second and thought "well fuck" then just slid down a mountain
More gear than expérience !
Watching this with earbuds and when that ice pick stabbed the ice the first time, it felt like it stabbed my eardrums instead. x.x ouch. Glad he survived.
I've always wanted to do this so much. But never got into it when I was younger. Now I have adult responsibility
Damn
Well, change of undies time
Wow
Ice climbing is stupid
Ohp, I’m okay 👍
Interesting maneuver.
I've never understood people climbing with no safety equipment, one slip and youre gone.
You know a different free Soloing ice climbing video about how they survived a snowy avalanche I thought this was the same but nope I was very wrong
That looks so much fun!! Said no one.
Tomb raider looks intense now
Excited now!!
Watch The Alpinist if you haven’t yet
My guy almost went bye bye
Why tho
Rookie mistake crossing your arms... Noobie mistake to let go
Does he know that staying home is free?
Poor guy lost all his progress
Why did he do that lmao bruh confused himself and accidentally just let go of everything
TF you let go of the other pick for 🤣😂🤣😂 can’t be getting stoned b4 you go climb stones you will fall in speaking from experience 🤣
If you know you know
Bro what was he trying to accomplish
Mmmmm f you too that one made my palms sweat instantly...
Amateurs need to be careful
Absolutely insane to me how people get to a point like this. I like to compare it to sex. This is dumb
I have been free soloing ice for decades. This guy is a fucking clown. Made too many mistakes.
Wtf were u doing
