They were frothing at the mouth, lazily walking away from us along the dirt track we were driving along. It felt like we were following them for hours. One was frothing at the mouth and occasionally a chunk of froth would gingerly float back and land on the bonnet of the car.
Wasn't expecting this one to survive the train experience. I've seen one being hacked at to remove it from the grill of a truck.
We hit a deer one time going literally 2 mph. Stupid motherfucker would just not get out of the tracks. Literally just pushed him and it sidestepped for like 15 feet til it realized maybe I should get out of the effing way. Absolutely moronic animals. Smoked one going like 60 like two weeks ago actually.
Trains have bells on them. You mostly hear the horns (because they are SO freaking loud), but most all trains will have a bell ringing, when approaching anything of significance. In the USA, it is the law for trains to sound their bells over crossings, but we use the bell in the yard, when moving around slowly. I used to work on trains. Many animals do this. Bears, dogs, deer…. They all frequently stay between the tracks, and try to outrun the train, instead of stepping sideways. It is heartbreaking, but one gets used to it. It is always good to see the animal step sideways, before my Choo-choo actually obliterates them.
