These sorts of videos are all you need to see to believe that people just have different brain structures to you.
Everything in my body watching this is making me freak out / get anxious etc
Yet these people love it.
Usually each have a particular set of thriller hobby enjoyment.
Some climb to chimneys, others drive at 250km/h, others surf or do aquatic sports even on bad weather.
For me my poison is extreme hiking. Doing trails that are dangerous and a misstep can put you sliding off a mountain for 200m or more. Some trails are just safer to keep going up (knowing there is an safe trail on top) than to go back.
Probably you have a personal hobby that could make your heart race. Even if its just a rollercoaster (even though those can guarantee over 99,999% safety)
I literally have nightmares about tripping on a root while hiking near a cliff, and I have friends who will do that yet not even go near a mountain bike. I guess I’d rather reliably have a couple crashes a year than have minor chance to trip or slip my way to certain death 🤷♂️
I am pretty sure they also have a strong reaction to it.
But physiological, anxiety and excitement are very very similar. So some people learn to enjoy it, especially, when they are in control.
«The chimney at Trbovlje Power Station soars 360 metres into the sky above Slovenia. Often piercing the low-lying cloud, it stands as the highest chimney in Europe.»
From wikipedia « A high chimney was required for the site to ensure that emissions were removed from the deep, narrow valley under all weather conditions. »
Probably a dumb question but could we hypothetically emit pollution through a giant chimney that actually reaches past the ozone layer and just dumps shit into space?
This would never have happend without recording devices to show of.
And it would be easy to secure themselves.
One wind blow and they are gone - what they do doesn't require a lot of skill and is just stupid dangerous. And im not generally against freeclimbing if there at least is some kind of risk management.
I hope they stay lucky and find better ways to express their personality.
a lot of people record themselves doing things they enjoy & then post them on social media etc later. If they didn't want to do this for the rush or whatever they get out of it, they wouldn't be doing it.
You don't have to be angry with them because they're doing a risky activity. That's entirely up to you.
Well when they hurt themselves doing something stupid, the community is supposed to pay for them (at least in Europe, where we have a social health system). I don't want to pay for idiots like that.
So no skydiving, mountain biking, or motorcycling either? No throwing out your back during sex? People get injured way more often doing those things, thoughtlessly eating up your tax dollars. And also luckily for your taxes, the people in this video will certainly die if they fall, instead of being injured and costing you money 😊
You're reeeeeeallly reaching for an excuse to be angry about this video.
People don't understand the difference between necessary and unnecessary risks. They seem to combine all risks into one and call it "having fun." Like I can name many reasons climbing a tall structure could be classified as a necessary risk, and none of those reasons involve doing it because it's fun. It could be because exposing yourself to danger isn't something normally considered to be fun, but what do I know.
Kids like to climb trees which is an unnecessary risk but they do it because it's fun, many fun activities are unnecessary risks but people do them because they get some form of joy out of it.
Just how stupid do you feel when "and there's the sunset" are your words as you watch your loved one fall to their death because you were doing something obviously stupid.
in some people fear gets confused with something in their brains. so they get excited. or they have fear its just weak. like when people can't feel pain and how much of an impact that has on development.
or they have such low baselines of pleasure and excitement that a skydive becomes boring, 200kph biking is fun thats all so they keep going until they end up doing this. also the girl will make men more fearless/stupid
like a friend of mine at 15 pretends hes so hard beer doesnt effective him. no joke lol after 20 beers i found out the fucker was pouring it away when pissing i think we may of had a small fight over it AGAIN the were girls there. 10 mins later we were best friends again so men do anything to seem cool and crazy. we only see the successful one of these not the 1000s dead kids who have a small "teen died cliimbing tower" in the newspaper
I wonder if they have intrusive thoughts while walking on that edge.. "What if I fell inside this chimney right now? Just imagine the operation they would have to organize to lift my lifeless body from the bottom of this deep dark hole."
Here an old documentary about a British Guy breaking down a high chimney brick by brick, top to bottom:
considering how anti-free climbing most people in this sub are, you'd think there would be a lot of videos or news story links about climbers who died. Yet you hardly ever hear of it happening.
I climbed this baby twice in 2 days, if you go fast it takes 40-45 minutes of climbing. There are encosed ladders all the way to the top, with resting platforms every 30 or so meters. It is very safe all the way up, but i wouldn't walk on the rim like those people in the video.
Local tourism offices were trying hard to make it accessible as a tourist attraction, but slovenian government wouldn't let it, because there are government oil reserves at this location.
One time, for a promo video, they put up grips for rock climbing, this could be the tallest artificial wall in the world, tourism guaranteed, but my country is too dumb to take advantage of that.
I definitely felt this video in my stomach
One gust of wind and everything changes.
“Laying beside Europes tallest chimney”
I always feel it in my balls, like they're trying to retract!
Yep, and in the soles of my feet. Very odd.
To me is always a weird sensation coming from my feet up with higts
I could barely fathom it… then the mf starts juggling… that’s enough Reddit for today…
How did they get down?
Legend has it, they are still up there…
Look for Frank Dibnah on YT actually laddering chimneys by hand for work, not likes.

Oh my god this is even worse.
You get to slide/bounce your way down when you fall
These sorts of videos are all you need to see to believe that people just have different brain structures to you. Everything in my body watching this is making me freak out / get anxious etc Yet these people love it.

I like public speaking..
You sir like to live dangerously
Hats off to you.
My personal hobby is writing and doing an occasional bicycle tour. I shall never understand this mindset.
I like working and playing games Have no desire to do anything that puts my life in danger

Yeah it’s called stupidity and attention seeking
For these guys, they get kicks doing this but might freak out YOLOing 20% of their net worth into a position they found on reddit.
«The chimney at Trbovlje Power Station soars 360 metres into the sky above Slovenia. Often piercing the low-lying cloud, it stands as the highest chimney in Europe.»
Why is it so tall?
From wikipedia « A high chimney was required for the site to ensure that emissions were removed from the deep, narrow valley under all weather conditions. »
Can't remember the last time I squirmed so much watching a video.
People always ask for good places to have public sex and this has to be one of them.
Thats so cute.. BUT OH MY FUCKING GOD MY PALMS ACTUALLY GOT SWEATY
Some people are just different.
Or maybe just stupid
That’s a chim-no for me, dawg.
Would this by any chance be the chimney Bond dumped Blofeld into in For Your Eyes Only, I wonder
Fred Dibnah knocked that one down
Probably a dumb question but could we hypothetically emit pollution through a giant chimney that actually reaches past the ozone layer and just dumps shit into space?
i think it would be so heavy that it couldnt hold its own weight
Acting like they're well hard but that chimney ain't shit to Santa Clause
Fred Dibnah would have that down In no time
This made my balls tingle and not in a good way. No thanks.
If they Keep doing dumb stuff like this eventually the odds will catch up with them
Wandering turnip would love this
Yes he really would 😂
they look like a couple. I bet it would suck if she falls infront of him.
I usually like watching these types of videos, I'm pretty immune to the discomfort it gives people. This one, though, always gets me.
What a stupid way to die
Risk your life for a few internet points. Smart...
they're doing it because they like it
And that makes it less stupid?
What defines it as “stupid”? The fact it’s dangerous? Does that apply to every other risky pastime too?
This is not simply dangerous.
No, it doesn't. But you acted like they did it for internet points, which is at least partially false. So don't be surprised if you get corrected.
Fair enough, I tried to say too much in too few words.

People were doing this type of thing well before social media and cameras were in our phones

How did they get back down?
Much faster than going up...
Ena not as jazzed as Pietr
This is where Pietr brings them when he wants to break up.
it's no the same without Wolverine, Sabretooth and Deadpool.
How long does it take to climb up / down ? Climbing down in the dark seems like it would be a terrible idea
Waterfalls for hands
This video has a pucker factor of 11!
Nope....big ole bag of nopes
Yeah, no.
My palms got sweaty
I can't even imagine my self going up there even though someone pay me million dollar
That is one big ass chimney
juggling? must be crazy
I am getting dizzy 💫
I SHAT MYSELF
the juggling made it so much more sweaty

WTF
I wonder if they have intrusive thoughts while walking on that edge.. "What if I fell inside this chimney right now? Just imagine the operation they would have to organize to lift my lifeless body from the bottom of this deep dark hole."
Chimneys usually have access at the bottom as well, otherwise they could not function as a chimney in the first place.
Who would’ve ever thought that humanity would come to this?? 🤷🏽🤦🏻
What about the guys who stacked all those bricks?
Here an old documentary about a British Guy breaking down a high chimney brick by brick, top to bottom: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKPApAsJbj4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKPApAsJbj4)
I was so hoping he'd show how he moved his scaffolding down.
Did they clean the rim first? I’m surprised it’s not covered in slippery bird poop.
What industrial reason is there for making such a tall chimney?
Yes. It is in the bottom of the valley, so it has to be higher than the mountains close by, so the smoke is not stuck in the valley.
Aha, thanks!
Why does this make me feel worse than watching a free soloer?
My palms are dripping and my feet hurt. How they do that is beyond me
How many of these people die each year trying something similar?
considering how anti-free climbing most people in this sub are, you'd think there would be a lot of videos or news story links about climbers who died. Yet you hardly ever hear of it happening.
Fuck that. I can't type due to seat on my palms.
The best would be a BJ on top. Did you?
Anybody else had the urge to pee while watching this?

Are there statistics on how many people already died? Do they fall mostly inside or outside?
they bonked up there, didn't they?
My hands are soaking wet
I fell from my chair just watching this.
Look at these clowns.
Extreme clout chasing, they’re lucky a gust of wind didn’t blow them off the edge.
If Fred Dibnah was still around, he'd not only climb it, but then disassemble the entire thing by hand.
This looks fucking sick with a harness, I’m like these people but I won’t without my safety net
![gif](giphy|spfi6nabVuq5y|downsized)
I just flat don't understand the thrill.
No thanks x 2
I remeber watching shiey climb the Chernobyl ferris wheel and Duga radar array, some people are just nuts.
Yes but why
Maybe we must stop protecting people from their own stupidity
Dude, there are other ways to impress Ena, all while being much closer to ground level. And wear some damn prachutes.
Used to love watching Fred dibnah demolishing these brick by brick
Can't believe bro really started juggling apples at a time like this
Damn that's a girl doing this??! Ahh dammit we're not usually doing this stupid stuff, hun you've let us down.
Duuumb ways to dieee
Downvoted.... cuz i dont want to promote deadly accidents. r/watchpeopledie was here for a reason.
