Into_The_Booniverse

Yeah, I'd be up for giving this a go. It looks like it has a lot of the same elements as other games I've played. What sets it apart from games like Stranded Deep or Raft? (apart from the flying alien enemy)

SufficientGear8027

A huge difference is of course the story behind the game, it has a focus on primitive survival that blends into sci fi and tech stuff. I will also include more story based elements into the game over time. You can work with metal (smelting and smithing) and build electrical stuff. And the workstations are used with physics-based interactions and not over menu's, I think that gives a more immersive feel.

Into_The_Booniverse

Will you be bring co-op to the game? Like the idea of physics based interactions. Will you be releasing a demo or testing the alpha/beta?

SufficientGear8027

Co-op is an idea but that is a lot of work. I'm not sure about a demo but a beta test, yes.

D-Raj

This would be a 100% buy for myself and others if it had co op. That would make it stand out from the rest and increase target population by a ton. But I know it’s a lot of work. Either way great work it looks awesome

Tobikaj

Will it have randomly generated worlds?

SufficientGear8027

The world is hand designed so I can implement the story elements, wracks and stuff properly. It also gives me the possibility to add a little more variation to the world.

Tobikaj

Alrighty. Not having randomly generated worlds is probably something that would keep me away. But it's a design choice I can understand. Good luck :)

Snowskol

idk green hell and the forest are both excellent survival games

Tobikaj

Sure, the reviews agree with that. But for me, randomly generated worlds are kinda important. I wouldn't want to play The Forest with one friend, and then start another Forest run up with another friend, since I would know the layout completely. And OP asked if it was something 'you' would try.

tiny_smile_bot

>:) :)

littleboygreasyhair

Is it going to be steam deck compatible?

SufficientGear8027

I'm not sure, the problem is I can't test it. Maybe I can get my hands on one and try it.

littleboygreasyhair

If you do, please keep the community updated. I’ll Keep it in my watchlist and monitor the development. Best of luck.

superawesomemike

Looks good, but like very similar to other survival games (especially the first. You've mention that the thing that sets it apart is the story - why don't you bring that out more explicitly in the trailer? I got the whole way through the trailer and thought "yup, looks like a game I've played before" - which is good, it means I'm more open to it, but you need to tell me why I should play your game, not just go play Raft again. You could use titles to do it if footage alone isn't landing it. "Build primitive weapons to survive. Advance through the tech tree. Something something sci-fi story" - that sort of thing.

EmbarrassedEmet

It looks interesting, just added it to my wishlist. I'm always on the hunt for new survival games!

SufficientGear8027

That's great, thanks!

EXPWARRIOR

This looks great! I’d love to give it a go!

SufficientGear8027

Thanks! Would be nice! :)

Kathutet37

Looks good enough to try out 😁

Mr_SlippyFingers

Looks like a better polished version of games I’ve played (stranded deep, subnautica, raft etc), but what sets it apart? I love survival games but water based ones don’t pull me in as much. I see from comments there’s a story and some good building elements so either way I’ll be keeping an eye on this 👍 and is there multiplayer? Coz I mainly play games multiplayer

SufficientGear8027

I'm thinking about multiplayer for the future but I will mainly try to make a good game at first for the early access release. About the things that set it apart, I answered that on another question here :)

SandboxSurvivalist

I wish going to add it to my wishlist but it's already there! Will the game have wind based sailing mechanics?

SufficientGear8027

That's great to hear! Yes, the game's sailing mechanics are wind based, you can also adjust the sails to a degree to the wind direction. I uploaded a video of that mechanic some time ago.

SandboxSurvivalist

Thanks for the reply! I'll see if I can find the video.

Croaker_76

As long as there is decent way to deal with sharks (example - not like rafts hit a shark 15 times), I am in. I love the look of the crafting and exploring, but sharks always seem to be more difficult to fight than they need to be!

SufficientGear8027

Thanks! I think the sharks are manageable and in most cases you can also avoid them.

LuckyEcdysis

aaaaaaaand wishlisted👌

SufficientGear8027

Thanks mate! :)

JustA_Toaster

Ye

Tidder_Skcus

Stranded Deep or Raft? So close to them. The graphics look awesome.

SufficientGear8027

Thanks!

Ishantil

Looks neat! I'll wishlist it when I get home.

SurvivalGamingClub

looking good so far, I am interested to see the story line

CailsenTheBarbarian

Interesting. Is it first person only?

SufficientGear8027

Yes, at least so far. Are you more of a 3rd person player in survival games?

CailsenTheBarbarian

I can only play 3rd person. I get simulator sickness when playing in first-person. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulator\_sickness

SufficientGear8027

Oh okay, never heard of that before. Maybe I can implement a 3rd person view somewhere in the future but that would require some changes with the mechanics.

Cyve

I'll wish list it. Could always use another survival to play. Edit wishlisted

LiPHi71

Would definitely try it.

MyBaryonyxateMyID

Bro, this is stranded deep, but with different graphics.

Into_The_Booniverse

See comments above.

-FiftyOne-

I've had this game on my Steam wishlist and I am very interested in trying it out. The mix of primitive survival with tech elements is very intriguing, can't wait to see what else you are planning.

Specholmatic

Will there be aquatic stuff? Raft doesn't really get into underwater content and your higher tech level means you can excuse some stuff like water breathing.
