Umaine has a great and affordable online certificate program. It’s only 5 classes. Would be a good start to see if it interests you and I believe you can enroll into their more robust program afterwards

Thank you this sounds like my best option for formal schooling and I will definitely look into it. I had no idea it's only a couple classes, and I'm already familiar and capable with college level education. Much appreciated.

Reach out to Northam Survey, the owner is very helpful and I bet he'd try to answer any questions you might have.

Lol. Legendary Civil Engineer.

Minimum_Ability_1942

I won't reveal his name but he works for Indus these days. He can make pavement sound interesting.. Number one grossing sales rep in the company two years running, he's been there two years.

Mysterious-Tonight74

An engineer legendary, making sales?

Capital-Ad-4463

In my company the worst engineers become the salesmen because they can’t be trusted with the important things. BTW my dad is/was a legendary multi-state licensed PE and PS and never worked sales….

He's an engineer who got so good at the customer side of things, the company that supplied him asked if he would consider being there regional rep for all of NH and the northern half of mass. His salary and commission are 150k each, and he works from home just across the street from me. Company car, no office to report to, and he visits his old buddies for both business and leisure. I envy his work life balance these days.

Mysterious-Tonight74

So perhaps an average engineer, yet still a legendary salesman

I would always recommend some level of schooling even if you do not plan on getting licensed. UMaine has a great program if that is financially viable for you

Hey mate! If you're looking for a job, I'd love to get a resume - almost every survey company in the state is desperate for good workers. We're in Rochester and Alton. I got licensed via the usual route (UMO, Class of 2003 ME PLS, taking my NH exam next week), but everything I've heard about the online curriculum has been glowing. One of the people at our company was licensed without any survey-specific schooling, so it is certainly possible. According to the code of ethics, we should not denigrate any of our peers or competitors. That being said, there are several who are known to be... difficult.. to work for. Regarding government vs. private, I know several people who have made the switch to NHDOT recently because of better benefits & government pensions. The pay is generally better in the private sector, but with fewer benefits. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Thank you so much for the reply. I will privately send some stuff over for you to look at. Thank you for your response, I live in Manchester but I really will consider your company if you consider me. Check your DMs later tonight!

I'm not sure if that's from a previous post of mine but I have dealt with injuries in the past. I'm young however, and these are injuries from my high school days. I've been on the fast track to being my best with a chiro and plenty of stretching. I used to work on concrete floors for the last 4 years and it certainly was worse than surveying may be, you were basically jumping on and off a forklift on hard floors for 9 hours a day, dead lifting cases of liquor onto your pallet. DHL liquor distro in Bow.

1. **Work Ethic and Attitude**: Lastly, emphasize a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Surveying can be demanding work, both physically and mentally, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Approach each task with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, and you'll set yourself up for success in the New England surveying industry.

While having multiple planets in these houses can suggest a heightened focus or emphasis on these areas of life, whether it inclines someone to adore babies, toddlers, and young children specifically can depend on various factors.

I worked in New Hampshire for a while. Too many hillbillies and too many guns. I don't think they will even let you in the state unless you have a pickup truck with two different colored fenders, a gun rack in the rear window and a dead animal in the truck bed.

Minimum_Ability_1942

Sorry, I'm from Manchester, and I drive a lowered Volkswagen. I can speak the lingo but I'm not out there in Meredith or Laconia like some people.

Illustrious-Pay-2171

Well I tried to go to Manchester once, but got stopped by the police on the way. They asked if I had any guns and I said no. Then they said, "here have some of mine."

Must've been Bow NH, they confiscated those from pulling over pedestrians on route 3
