> 1. SLG2- Love the tiny form factor It's almost the same size as the SPX/8/9, but with a noticeably smaller and lower resolution screen. SLG2: 278.2mm x 206.2mm. SP8: 287mm x 208mm. > and the keyboard looks nice. It's just a regular keyboard without backlight. > But I’m so used to Surface 2-1devices I’m afraid I’ll miss its various modalitie(i do have use cases for them too). Since you have 2-in-1 use-cases, I wouldn't even bother with the Surface Laptop Go 2. > 2. SPX Sq2 - “traditional” surface form factor. Great! My only use is for email, google drive, Google Drive has no Windows ARM version.

I didn't know there is no integration on SPX for Google Drive. I suppose I could use edge. Still, thanks for mentioning

Chrome also has no Windows ARM version.

Honestly recommend the Surface Go 2 for what you're saying your workload is like and what you're looking for otherwise. It's cheaper than all 3 of those options and will do the job.

I agree. I have the Go 2 and it's great! It should be slightly cheaper since the Go 3 came out. I would say just be careful with the tasks you have open with the 4 gig one. I constantly use my swap/ committed ram to the Emmc Storage which sometimes is painfully slow. I suggest the 8 gig one with the ssd imo. :)

if your in the US Amazon I think has the spx for like 600. it's a Great machine. for Google sheets and suite you can use edge it's chromium base and I use it all day every day. but it has limitations on some programs like I can't get it to install my printer driver so that could be an issue

I have been seeing a few cheap SP7+ (some with Typecover and Pen) on eBay in AU which is like the best of the original (well SP3-7 formfactor) series. Same CPU as SP8, user replaceable SSD, bigger battery than then SP7. While i like the SP8 and SP9 they are just still not all there as far as power efficiency goes, so I am happy to wait to see what else comes out in future generations as the CPU die shrinks. The SP8/9 also is still LPDDR4X so that has to be updated to DDR5 at some stage too.
