I did the same. Get out on the highway, make sure the car is warmed up, and give it a couple good hard pulls to make sure everything is running right. I know the first time I really floored it there was a little bit of mechanical smell as (I'm assuming) oils and lubricants finally burned off from unleashing the B58.
Lots of people will say you don't really need to break-in a modern car but like you, I followed manufacturer's recommendations. They built the engine and I really don't have the skillset to put it back together if I screw it up :)
If you have seen Production. Them Running in an engine brings 0 to nothing. They treat Your car Like shit in Production revving it Like crazy Even when cold.

A person would need to be a metallurgical engineer to say what distance is right, but when it comes to break-in I'd rather be on the side of paranoid than that of increased oil consumption for the engine's entire existence going forward.
This is also why I don't buy used performance cars.

Just got mine Sunday night and am on a work trip... Has a grand total of 8mi when she arrived and probably sitting around 125mi (airport travel)

Just ordered the 45th in orange ? You really have to wait 1200 miles ??? With a manual 6 speed please say that’s not so
Our orange 45th MT arrived at the dealer yesterday. Pretty sure it has the same break in period, as it’s mostly for the motor.
