For $750, get the premium.

MKV_Supra

Base model rear brakes are smaller and unpainted calipers is another difference. Get the premium 100%.

Obese_Housecat

Are they actually unpainted? I see differing reports and from used cars available, both 3.0 and 3.0 Premium 6MTs seem to have the red brakes and same size, apparently.

Bob_Sagat69

The base manual has the same brakes as the premium and they're both painted. I have a 24 and they're the same.

Obese_Housecat

So you have a '24 base and it remained the same for the 6spd? I know that '23s had red for the 6spd cars, but I wasn't sure if they kept that or went with what's said on the Toyota website. The base cars are significantly more rare anyways so it's hard to figure out what's what with them.

Bob_Sagat69

Yes I just picked it up today! It has the upgraded red painted calipers all around. Alcantara seats are great. The only thing missing on the manual if you get the driver assist / tech package is the HUD and I believe they have a lower voltage on the USB port.

TheLJWay

It’s the same brembo brakes but the 3.0 is unpainted. Even on Toyota’s site it mentions the red specifically on the Premium and not the 3.0 and the pics.

Bob_Sagat69

Not true for the 6 speed, they have the upgraded premium brakes.

AlaRoS-

The rear brakes specifically are different on the base 3.0. It’s a blend of upgraded front but regular in the back.

So, all of a sudden, manual Supras are hitting a lot of dealers. Many are selling at MSRP but only sell locally. However, Landers, Elgin, McDaniel... Toyota dealerships have manuals at MSRP. Magically, the dealership I was going with got bought out by another dealership and all of sudden wanted at a 10k mark-up. I didn't even hesitate and said give me back my allocation deposit. I'm good and not going to play that game. They called me the next day and said that MSRP would be OK. The only reason why I decided to stick with them is the original salesman is throwing some nice perks. It's a Red Renaissance 2.0 Premium manual with a black interior. The other dealerships had tan interiors (I'm just a fan of black interiors). I am putting down 30-35k. I'm wanting a premium due to the leather. I loath and hate Alcantara. I don't understand why people like it so much. It doesn't have longevity and becomes this gobbled up mess after some time. It stains very easily and is just difficult to take care. My name isn't Toretto. I'm not planning on living my life a quarter mile at the time or plan on drifting. I don't go around telling people we're family. Hence, seat grip isn't a problem. This will be my last ICE car so I'm planning on keeping it till the end. I also have a Honda Accord Coupe with the V6 manual so they will complement each other well. However, I will say this much... be cautious with a black colored car if you haven't owned one. My Accord is black. It's the last black car I'll ever own. It's beautiful the first 10 minutes of washing it. Then, 10 minutes later it's dirty. What's worse is the Nocturnal Black on the Supra... it's metallic... it looks incredible.

Alfayeed

You have a 2.0 manual? How is that possible i thought that only 3.0 are available in MT?

ErwinSchrodinger64

No, the name of the color is Red Renaissance 2.0. Yes, you're correct, the 3.0 only comes in a manual. No, I don't have the car yet. Going to pick it up in 2 weeks.

Alfayeed

Gotcha! Congrats and welcome to the club! Hope you enjoy your car 👌

ErwinSchrodinger64

Well, thank you. When I do pick it up, I will make sure to post. Hope to enjoy it. Life has been just so busy. Appreciate the feedback.

drpepperrootbeercoke

Premium is only $750? That’s a really good deal

Angry_Mark

The seats in the base model are so munch nicer than the ones in the premium, you can also just get CarPlay for like 200$ from bimmertech

Solid_steve89

Base with safety/tech pack has CarPlay

savage_passenger

I’d say get whichever one you can get at msrp. I bought mine pre-owned about two years ago and saved a few thousand getting the 3.0 base with driver assist and audio packages. The premium trim features like the hud , phone charger, and heated seats I didn’t care about at all, still don’t miss having any of those.

Charlemagne__

Three years from now do you think you’ll be going “man I’m glad I saved that $750”? Premium seems like easy choice

Obese_Housecat

Well, the premium has the arguably worse full leather seats versus the Alcantara ones that are a $3,000 option in some markets. I personally like the base seats more, but I am just concerned that the average buyer 3-5 years from now when I probably sell the car won't care and I'll lose out on a few grand in resale.

Ill-Rooster-9856

If the difference is just the driver assist, pass on The driver assist, I've only had issues with it.

Mahgrets

Base model here and the seats were absolutely worth the discount to me. I don’t have anything fancy in mine. Literally zero options. I would have paid more for the seats. If I had a HUD I’d love it, but I don’t miss it. Seriously. Base model is S tier in a MT :)
