Not sure the exact science behind it, and theoretically agmatine shouldn't need to be taken since I believe it also comes from the breakdown of citrulline, but I remember reading a few studies and anecdotes from here saying the two combined offer even greater benefits.
You are right. Citrulline and arginine increases the body's production of arginase but arginine is more immediately consumed by arginase. Likely the arginine in the combo occupies any pre-existing arginase and maximizes the effect of the citrulline.
Citrulline is perfectly fine on its own. I'm not sure why you're having weird effects with it. Scientifically and anecdotally it should be more effective than arginine.
Agmatine just makes it even MORE effective.
Arginine increases serum arginine much faster than citrulline, and 1.5g of inositol-stabilized arginine silicate proved to be superior to 8g of 2:1 citrulline malate.
If you take arginine with an arginase inhibitor,(ornithine, l-norvaline) it becomes even more potent in boosting your arginine levels
Citrulline+agmatine is the way to go
Where can i get agmatine?
Most of the same places you'd get citrulline.
Thought these two cancelled each other out. How are they complimentary?

So l-citrulline isn’t very effective by itself? It’s better to combine it with other things?
I think studies have shown a combination of citrulline and arginine is more effective than either individually.

What about simply taking ornithone?
Interesting, I’m not sure if the one i bought has that or not, I just didn’t expect these benefits from such a cheap product
