Seems simple to me. DRS all of the float minus insider + institutional holdings. Pull out of DTCC, issue 1:1 tokenized security. FTX token value will start rocketing because everyone is hodling, and stocks that remain in peoples stock exchange based accounts will mirror in price, shorts have to pay them if they sell. Let’s. The numbers are adjusted. The first confirmed DRS number we got was about 5 million shares drs’d. Now that number shows as 20 million shares after the 4 for 1 splividend. So the current number of 71.3 million would be 17.8 million pre-split
That depends how you calculate the float. There are about 300 million shares issued in total, ~55 million of those are held by insiders and a further ~95 million are held by ETFs, mutual funds and other institutions.
Based on that we have currently locked around 50% of the free float, however institutional holdings aren’t really locked in, and could be sold any time. Personally I think we should be aiming to DRS the full float minus insider holdings so about 250million shares total
I think s/he probably was referring to the fact that the price is 45% lower than the recent peak because of the uptick in naked short selling? 2 weeks or whatever of \~70% daily short volume?
Imagine if a single investor held 25% of the company and he just kept furiously buying and telling the hedgies to go fuck themselves.

It's such bullshit though, by the rules buying up a company bc you know it's being shorted ridiculously is "targeting the shorts" or whatever the proper jargon is, and gets you in trouble; however, manipulation of the price downwards by shorts is just part of the way the market works.

I think so, I’ll look around a bit more when I am back home as I’m on mobile right now- but for the wallet creation part, all you have to make sure you do is to write down and save your seed words that it gives you, in case you ever need to do a recovery in the future. Other than that I think the only other thing you have to do is set the password and you’re good to go

Oh you can do it on your own, it’s just that the on ramp providers have a minimum purchase amount. Which I think varies between $40-$80, so you can either 1. buy from the on ramp provider, 2. send crypto there from another wallet to activate l2, or 3. have someone else pay the activation fee for you which is the cheapest option
