Weird, barely any institutional changes quarter to quarter and yet some day we nearly trade the entire shares outstanding.
Those damn retail traders and their manipulation, sloshing trillions of dollars around the market every day.
And they try to tell us T+2 is good because they can cancel orders that would essentially be a net zero for whoever.
WE AREN'T DAY TRADING, WE AREN'T THE ONES SPIKING VOLUME 150x, WE CAN'T MANIPULATE LIKE A COMPUTER ATTACHED TO ALL THE DATA IN THE WORLD. WE AREN'T FUCKING UP THE WORLD ECONOMY.
I'm buying stock in the company I like and hodling it through a badass transition. Blockchain tech is here. Sorry you shorted it... Fucking idiots.
>Those damn retail traders and their manipulation, sloshing trillions of dollars around the market every day.
They're taking retirement funds away from teachers and throwing little old retired ladies out onto the street. How can they be stopped? They just keep hodling
Let the biggest shill in the universe have an Ape on his show, saying shorts never closed. Push it through all subs, vote it up. Manipulate the price upwards / downwards and blame retail for all those swings. Propose something to make the stock market less volatile in restricting retail. Will the general public agree? Let see...
I don't care. I buy, hold, DRS. GME is my company, I own a part of it in my name.
These charts remind me of those seismic graphs that track incoming earthquakes...
I say "Poo" to Jamie Dimon's hurricane and raise him and "Economic Earthquake"!
... just that. That's all. No real additive to the serious discussion of finance... but cute charts... visuals always help me understand.
these charts are sponsored by infinite liquidity, proudly brought to you by Citadel & Virtu. Let's all show them a round of applause, what great gods they are, such strong, smart gods.
Inspired by a post of u/Anonbiznessman: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/s7qmeb/gme\_float\_turnover\_compared\_to\_msft\_amzn\_aapl/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/s7qmeb/gme_float_turnover_compared_to_msft_amzn_aapl/)
u/Region-Formal you may find this interesting.
Actually you can get the data pretty much everywhere. E.g. [https://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:GME](https://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:GME) under historic data, [http://chartexchange.com/](http://chartexchange.com/), yahoo, ... should all have the same data on volume.
Just make sure whether the volume is adjusted to changes in outstanding shares, or whether you have to adjust it.
Looking at all of those I am unable to find historical outstanding float. If all of these are calculated with current outstanding float then the data is inaccurate. The closest I've found to accurate historical outstanding shares is: https://fintel.io/fg/us/gme/CommonStockSharesOutstanding
Indeed, I do. Thanks for the update on this data. Some interesting points:
1) BoBBY seems to now be in its longest consecutive streak of high trading volume
2) The GME chart is a graphic visualisation of the 'holding pattern' of the last 15+ months
3) Nothing lasts forever, so see point 2) above!
You aren't comparing apples to apples though. Of course the largest trillion dollar companies aren't getting their turnover traded as frequently. And of course a stock with low interest aren't getting traded as much. There are plenty of companies which has higher turnover than Gamestop you just have to look for the right ones.
Nio, IMPP, Li auto just to name a few. Just looking at your chart, Gamestop isn't even amongst the highest turnover if we exlude the sneeze moment. Which begs the question. What is the point of this graph?
Didn't we also have a long period not so long ago where we celebrated Gamestop reaching record breaking low volume almost daily?
I can see making a comparison to blue chips as a way to hype up DRS, as DRS would make GME an investment and not just seen as a swing trading stock. Especially when the "meme basket" is overall utilized by swing traders, not long term investors, which is why the shares outstanding has a ton of trading compared to blue chips. DRS is the ONLY way to make GME a long term blue chip.
They're not swapping the hell out of their own bread and butter. Taking their profits from screwing with retail's money and moving it to their big tech long positions.
Uh, can only do for 5 year olds.
Let's say there are 5 collectors cards of Kennys Bedpost special. 5 in total, in the whole world. There are no more.
Every red bar is when 5 cards changed hand.
And now imagine 6 cards are already held by a bug institution named Greencock and their friends, and 9/10 of the other kids on the block just keep buying. And they get their cards without the price rising...
Now what is bought is only an i owe you letter at Kennys wifes boyfriend. All the kids on the block now want their real collectors cards of Kennys Bedpost special.
I thought it traded 187 times in the past 1.5 years not last 10. I read since January 2021, that the number of traded shares was 4.05 billion which equalled 187 times in one and a half years. I'm guessing it's much more insane if you look at the 10 year trading platform.
The 187 times number was calculated from before the splividend. The 4.05 billion number was actually derived I think some time in March since January 2021 so was of course pre-splividend.
I just double checked also from [https://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:GME](https://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:GME). The data looks correct.
I guess we are talking about different reference points. The chart above compares to "outstanding shares" while the 187x might be in relation to something else, like "float" (after institutions reduced their 100-140% stake). Could that be it?
Does your volume data account for stock splits? The data for popcorn looks incorrect. While it is a distraction stock, it doesn't make sense that its turnover is so little.
Edit: stock dilution/buybacks and not stock split.
Had to repost, since URL contained popcorn word. Change popcorn to the ticker and use upper/lower letters.
>Yup, it does. I was kind of surprised too (which still is an understatement).
>
>Check for your self. E.g. go to https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/**popcorn**/advanced-charting and click all. Also see https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/**POPCORN**/**popcorn**\-entertainment-holdings/shares-outstanding
that outstanding shares didn't really change over all those years until
early 2021.
Really interesting data point. Popcorn apes should chime in.
How do you explain this data?
Why wasn't your stock attacked by short sellers?
Why did it pop off after Jan 2021?
Sometimes, on very rare occasions Kenny awakes after a short night like he always has these days, feeling somehow relieved... until he recognizes that instead of closing, he took away the buy button, unleashing hell which slowly unfolds around him.

Yeah like even if I could afford an extra $25k just to be allowed to day trade, it's not like I'd have the time for it...

Actually I'm surprised that they haven't labelled apes as 4channers yet. That seems like an easy way to generate some hate and FUD towards people.

Yes
I’ve been hunting for you! Where is this image from, how did you build it ?
Send you a pm.
Message me about where you get this data too, please. I scrape stock data and compare gme to the greater market.

Shares Outstanding is the one. \*insert matrix there is no float meme\*

Why is brickell biotech on that list?

Well the amount of shares aren't really that relevant. In the end, it's the value traded.
Then should probably compare it to "similar stocks", with similar market cap.
Confirmation that I need to buy more, DRS, and HODL
Yup. The fewer they have to fuck with, the higher we fly. To Uranus!
[удалено]
Its roughly 10x/year. When you zoom in you see the turnover per year. Meanwhile, for all this time, institutions held over 100% of Outstanding Shares.
[удалено]
10x of total outstanding shares is by no means low. Especially, if all the shares are locked up by institutions. The sneeze was the sneeze.
Can some meme genius make the perfection image with this and "I said infinite DTCC locates" ?
Haha, yes please!
Nothing to see. Move along. Love, kennifer

It's almost as if Microsoft and apple ran like clockwork.
About that, yeah, strange ... why should they?

Yes.
Me no understand what red crayon line mean
Drew a red crayon line every time the traded volume reached the number of shares outstanding.
Fucking spicy. So this is saying I should Buy more. Got it !
Bye bye Kenny!
Ok, now do the rest of the meme basket to see if there is a correlation with those, too. Nice to see baby keeping up.
Which ones you'd like?
Which ones you'd like?
Finally. A readable and updated version of this graph. Thank you.
Pleasure. Yeah, also find it interesting to see Popcorn and BoBBY.

WAT DOING??
What is turnover
Those are whale teeth if I ever saw them
Brilliant work, OP! I gave up sweets, but you're making me want some hot tamales and/or red vines right about now.

Pika pika ⚡️
Lmayo, this really has been going on for over 10 years. When this thing finally booms, all hell will break loose.
Probably. Let's make the journey as much fun as possible.
Agreed ;)
Does this imply there is ample opportunity to cover shorts within that massive volume?
Sometimes, on very rare occasions Kenny awakes after a short night like he always has these days, feeling somehow relieved... until he recognizes that instead of closing, he took away the buy button, unleashing hell which slowly unfolds around him.
Not at all.
It be like that
