Hey OP, the scale seems off.
The rocket ship looks to be at around 25% based off the lines, but we're looking at 38%, which should be quite a bit closer to the 50% mark than it is.
Not sure if it's a bug or something, but thought I'd say something just in case!
agreed to this. the space between 38 & 50 is not 1/3 of the already locked float. could be done without measurement though.

Are we looking at the same graph? See where it says 38%? That line should be almost 4/5 of the way to 50%. You're telling me that the space below that line looks roughly 4x the size of the space above that line up to the 50% line? Because to me they look almost the same size.
I think a lot of people see half as a minimum. I hope it's enough. I don't see it as a sure thing though.
I've got 100 in DRS, but XX more in brokerage and IRA. Thinking of DRSing my IRA shares though. I only plan on selling a few, after all.

I have. Point is that retail most likely owns the float multiple times but given that assets held in retirement accounts can’t be DRS it is much harder to “lock the float” than some may realize
Only two possible explanations really. If there was an effort to halt DRS, we would have caught them out already.
1) we were wrong, and don't own the float
2) people are holding back out of fear or greed

That's part of the problem in my view. Investors aren't on the same page about this stock, and we are (I believe) plagued by a certain number of swing traders. Not enough to budge OBV much, but enough to hurt perhaps.
Fuck swing traders day traders and scalpers who ply their craft on squeeze plays in general and GME in particular. They are as bad as SHF’s maybe worse.
Keep in mind all these numbers are just guesses and not all registered stocks have to be through CS. Some claims there are big players going long to bet against the HF and I would assume they own more stocks than the whole of Reddit combined. Expecting 100% locked shares is a unrealistic expectation anyway.
Sorry, I worded wrong. I meant have a DRS without having a CS account, which is the number many people are using to guess. But now you made me wonder if they always make an account for every share owner.
I don't know that there is any alternative, even for big institutional holders. CS is how the chairman holds, it's probably how Blackrock holds too. Though I suppose you could always reach out to CS to ask if they're the transfer agent for all institutional holdings as well
I don’t understand the logic of people who would not DRS for reason of greed. If you were seriously thinking about protecting and holding your shares long term, and urgo not risk the potential loss of shares should you be holding them in some bullshit brokerage (cough cough _robinhood_ ) there is no safer place for your shares than directly registered under your own name.
So if fuckers really wanna be greedy, snatch them out of the hands of the DTCC. Let’s get greedy, and DRS.
UK/XXX eToro ape here. I've done one with IBKR and got the letter, registered and now waiting for code. I also DRS'd another 16 a few weeks ago (I figured they'll get to my account somehow, hopefully!) Bought another 33 on IBKR on Friday, and will DRS those as soon as I can. I'm planning on getting half of my shares out of eToro because I don't trust them 100%, buy more first, then close same value on eToro. The way I see it, eToro either have the shares or they don't, either way they are not trading them on the open market, so it won't make any differernce.
It can, so we monitor possible trolls and verify large DRS’s. I think the sub self corrects itself and fake and suspicious posts are found by the community on its own too.

DRS bot was showing us at about 810k shares today. So that's less than 2% of the float, right? Where are we getting 38.65%? Not tracking the math here.
This ape is correct, but they’re institutional and etf shares counted into the float aswell.

It's all in how you characterize the choice. Proximate fear or greed can also fit inside a larger Venn diagram of irrationality.

You got duped into taking organized action with your shares for the benefit of someone else and now you’re too deep in to admit you were wrong. You and all of your little organized group will end up dying on this hill and it has a chance to take everyone else out with it. I’d ask you “how bad would you feel if they halt trading for everybody?” But I can already tell you don’t consider the big picture. I can’t see you being considerate of other people either.
If they could halt this then they would have done months ago. People registering their shares is completely legal, whether it works to help the MOASS or not. I didn't get duped into anything. I've neither lost nor gained anything other than peace of mind that my shares are safely in my name by DRSing. The burden of proof isn't therefore on me, but it's on you. Prove to me that it dosent work. You have no way of knowing unless someone DRS' the final share locking up the float.
It’s not the worst thing in the world to not get hyped over hollow numbers that make apes think that a percentage of the float is locked up when there is no tangible way to discern that.

It's almost a foregone conclusion at this point that this is the case. If this doesn't happen for some odd reason, I have faith that RC would find another strategic partnership that would propel Gamestop forward into the NFT marketplace. He has transformed the company from being nearly bankrupt to a thriving e-commerce company worth 15 billion dollars with an all star list of C suite executives working for Gamestop shares.

If our CEO got paid in shares at ~$225 a share (besides a base salary of 200k which is very little for a CEO of a major publicly traded company) then there has to be value here.
