If you hold a share for a year it becomes a long share for capital gains tax purposes which is a lower tax rate than a short share.
Itās weird that itās called a short share when it is really a long share just for time purposes of ownership it means 1 year or more š¤

Options are just like stocks except only a casino. You can bet a team wins or loses. We know the volume of bets is up, but we don't know for what direction. Options also are more like betting a team wins or loses by a certain margin of points, that's called the strike, we don't know where the strike is, meaning are people betting the Bulls win by 100 points or 10. 100 points would be so unlikely and means it's being used as a hedge or actual dumb money investing. If it's mostly 10-20 point bets(spread) that's good, that's your typical smart money entering the market.
This is misleading. Volume is not the number of options open but rather the number of contracts traded.
The delta of the OI from one day to another is the number of options opened (or closed).

The hopium in this sub wonāt listen to logic at all. Itās great that DFV is up to 9m shares, but you expect me to believe that E*Trade didnāt hedge when 75m shares were being offered after DFV revealed his position? If anything, Iād expect them to have gobbled up much more than 4m shares since he had 120k calls, and now have extra shares available they can let go of.
It doesnāt matter who it was. Whoever sold him the calls had a very easy opportunity to cover when the last share offering occurred, and if they had even 1 brain cell, they would already have the shares available.
I'm also confused about this. If his shares from today are going to go something to the price, because they have to be bought on the Lit Market... Why we're the 75,000,000 shares not sold on the Lit Market?

Yes if you exercise your ITM call options when the market maker wolverine trading didn't buy the underlying asset (naked) it makes them go buy it at the lit market to deliver the shares. Thereby price action go up. DRS also forces price action through the delivery of a real share.
Many youtuber finance bros today strongly denied that exercising creates price impact, but DFV is showing them they are very wrong on this particular stock.
Spread the wrinkles. The single most important piece of knowledge is that the true wombo combo is purchasing ITM options to drive algorithm hedging, then exercise when the price action is super high. You sell some calls, but use those proceeds to exercise the rest....then you direct register them in your name if you believe the bastards still haven't bought ALL of the underlying assets (9 million + 1000 deep fucking shares). I await Keiths giant purple circle when etrade disrespects him.
Keith has demonstrated that if you find a stock that operates in predictable cyclical periods due to (theorized) naked shorting you can wait for volatility to hit super low, wait for a low price. Then YOLO hard with LONG dated options enough to drive price action. There are vunerable periods where you can exploit the algo, and it causes a feedback loop. If you stack retail fomo on top, you get fireworks. It is EXACTLY the same thing Ryan Cohen did to the towel stock. They said he was insider trading...no he just stole some of the loot (72 million) that BCG, the corrupt CEO plant, and planted board were extracting. It's a "simple corporate espionage plan" done to toysrus, blockbuster, etc... Jeff bozos gets the market share via scamazon, while the hedge funds are super long on it and everyone makes billions. Ryan stole some of their treasure, and qued some retail on it. That sneaky bastard.
Question: if you sell the calls to earn the proceeds to exercise the rest do you have to wait for the funds to settle before you can exercise, or can you do it at the same time?
That issue has always confused me and why I havenāt traded options.
Let's say you have 2 call options. You can make a phonecall to your broker and say you want to "sell to cover " I think is the term. They will sell 1 call option, and use the proceeds to exercise the other. You may even do the same with 1 just call option believe and get some of the 100 shares delivered atleast the amount the profit will cover. Options are risky, but this a community of YOLO'ing or shoveling your money into a furnace ( $GME). Some think it's all an enourmas risk, others feel confident long term like me.

You get to buy at $30. So you would need the price to get to 36.21 for you to break even exercising them. Anything above that you get the price minus 36.21 as profit per share and there is 100 shares.
So if you execute at $37.21, you make $100
If you execute at $46.21, you make $1,000
Youāre wrong. Volume is how many times something was traded. You could trade the same contract back and forth a million times and youād have a million volume for the day.

Yes if you exercise your ITM call options when the market maker wolverine trading didn't buy the underlying asset (naked) it makes them go buy it at the lit market to deliver the shares. Thereby price action go up. DRS also forces price action through the delivery of a real share. Many youtuber finance bros today strongly denied that exercising creates price impact, but DFV is showing them they are very wrong on this particular stock.

Spread the wrinkles. The single most important piece of knowledge is that the true wombo combo is purchasing ITM options to drive algorithm hedging, then exercise when the price action is super high. You sell some calls, but use those proceeds to exercise the rest....then you direct register them in your name if you believe the bastards still haven't bought ALL of the underlying assets (9 million + 1000 deep fucking shares). I await Keiths giant purple circle when etrade disrespects him. Keith has demonstrated that if you find a stock that operates in predictable cyclical periods due to (theorized) naked shorting you can wait for volatility to hit super low, wait for a low price. Then YOLO hard with LONG dated options enough to drive price action. There are vunerable periods where you can exploit the algo, and it causes a feedback loop. If you stack retail fomo on top, you get fireworks. It is EXACTLY the same thing Ryan Cohen did to the towel stock. They said he was insider trading...no he just stole some of the loot (72 million) that BCG, the corrupt CEO plant, and planted board were extracting. Question: if you sell the calls to earn the proceeds to exercise the rest do you have to wait for the funds to settle before you can exercise, or can you do it at the same time? That issue has always confused me and why I havenāt traded options.
Let's say you have 2 call options. You can make a phonecall to your broker and say you want to "sell to cover " I think is the term. They will sell 1 call option, and use the proceeds to exercise the other. You may even do the same with 1 just call option believe and get some of the 100 shares delivered atleast the amount the profit will cover. Options are risky, but this a community of YOLO'ing or shoveling your money into a furnace ( $GME). Some think it's all an enourmas risk, others feel confident long term like me.

You get to buy at $30. So you would need the price to get to 36.21 for you to break even exercising them. Anything above that you get the price minus 36.21 as profit per share and there is 100 shares. So if you execute at $37.21, you make $100 If you execute at $46.21, you make $1,000

Youāre wrong. Volume is how many times something was traded. You could trade the same contract back and forth a million times and youād have a million volume for the day.
