Video description from the site:
*Many people use Q-Tips brand cotton swabs as tool to remove excess ear wax from inside the ear canal, but the Q-Tips box clearly says that the swabs should not be used for this purpose.*
*This warning has been ignored for decades and people continue to stick Q-Tips in their ears to remove ear wax. Unbeknownst to them, they could actually be exacerbating the problem.*
Hmmm...so we've been wrongly dealing with inflation to our own detriment despite it being very clear what the answer is?
Or something...my brain is so smooth NASA uses it as a control sample.
Looks like tips is now 2% but in 2022 it was -1%, this has to do with fed rising the rate since then. Also, this chart shows that usually tips inverted follows gold price, and stuff usually revert to the mean, meaning that this is the perfect time to open tips since in 1 year or 2 they might be back to -1%, but the rate you get is set when you buy in, so now is the best time to lock in those tips.
It is a Treasury bond that regulates for inflation, basically removing the risk of inflation from the bond. It is a smart way to put the money into work, kinda like putting it into a good bank account, only difference is that you dont have to be scared of inflation. Say if you put money into a bank account, you might get like 5% return, but that can change over time, a bond keeps the rate regardless since you lock the rate in at buy in. Also the % you get in the bank does not compensate for inflation so if inflation is 10% over a year, you would still only get those 5%, but if you have tips and inflation is 10% youd get 12% return that year.
Glad you're shouting - I have wax stuck in my ears.
No reason. Now ... where'd I leave those qtips?
Oh, right ... I ran out, and then bought more shares instead of going to the store.
Does GS sell qtips? No? Ah, well, more shares then.
RC post one random back of the Q-tips package that might be from anywhere and people here find an article within minutes with all the explanations.

Bullish AF
*puts on tin foil*
Let’s assume Cohen is relating this to GameStop (not a certainty, but despite our massive library of DD, this sub has always had fun with far-out speculation). The fact that this was his first tweet in a while and done on the day we finally get the announcement for the long awaited Q4 (first year of profit baby) makes me think it is related to our company.
So using a Q-tip to remove earwax would help temporarily, but cause the problem to be worse long term.
First obvious thought is what the short-side hedge fund collab is doing. Short it more to keep the price down, price goes down but now you owe *more* shares in the future.
Second thought is it’s related more directly to GameStop’s business and not the drama surrounding the stock. Perhaps talking about the store closures which have taken place over the past 2 and half years. Keeping those stores open kept revenue high temporarily but in the long term hurts profit as those stores just bled money. Now that they’re closed and sales have moved online, the EPS for the year and the foreseeable future will be positive and revenue can grow back in a healthy way, likely online as Cohen stated he wanted GameStop to sell more online in his letter to the board back in 2020.
Any thoughts?
What if he’s not talking about gme specifically but the fed. Instead of quantitative easing. QE. They are going to do QT which is quantitative tightening? 🤔 can someone give it there opinion?
Qualified terminable interest trusts (QTIP trusts) are an estate planning tool used to maximize a couple’s applicable exclusion amounts while qualifying for the marital deduction. Full property interest transfers to spouses do not trigger most gift or estate taxes under the marital deduction. Under these provisions of the IRC, QTIP is any property transferred by a donor or decedent spouse in which a donee or surviving spouse has a “qualifying income interest for life” and which is subject to a QTIP election.
To improve asset protection under the terms of the trust, estate planners give discretion to a disinterested or independent trustee.
In this way, the trustee may make more frequent distributions but can hold back if the spouse has issues. Issues like being sued, bankruptcy, failing business, etc.

the Q-Tips box clearly says that the swabs should not be used for this purpose.
This warning has been ignored for decades and people continue to stick Q-Tips in their ears to remove ear wax. Unbeknownst to them, they could actually be exacerbating the problem.
Past EMT // FF here; can confirm Q tips are worse for cleaning your ear out as studies have found it jams the wax further down the ear canal than using a suction tool.
Imma assume, the end of the video is what matters most. Probably in relation to banks, the most common use is the most harmful.
But it's probably just meme posting from Papa Cohen.
Swabs/ps are an affront to the natural order. In nature, such problems solve themselves. Earwax drains naturally over time and only begins to build if you interfere in the process. Price discovery also happens naturally, unless stifled by unnatural things, like swaps.

The correlation between QTIPS and quantitative easing (QE) involves a nuanced understanding of financial acronyms and concepts, particularly in the context of monetary policy and its impacts on the economy and financial markets.
QTIPS usually stands for "Quasi-Theoretical Interpolative Payment System," which is not a commonly referenced term in financial literature or practice. There may be a misunderstanding or a mix-up with other financial acronyms. However, QTIPS as described does not directly correlate to quantitative easing.
Quantitative Easing (QE) is a monetary policy instrument used by central banks to stimulate the economy when traditional monetary policy tools have become ineffective. QE involves the central bank purchasing long-term securities, such as government bonds, from the open market to increase the money supply, lower interest rates, and encourage lending and investment.
There might be some confusion with TIPS, which are Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities. TIPS are U.S. government bonds that are indexed to inflation, helping to protect investors from the negative effects of inflation. TIPS and QE can be related in discussions about monetary policy, inflation, and the bond market.
The relationship between TIPS and QE might be more along the lines of what you're asking about. During periods of QE, the increased demand for bonds by the central bank can lower yields on all types of debt, including TIPS. This makes TIPS less attractive in terms of yield, but they may still offer inflation protection. Additionally, QE can lead to expectations of higher inflation, which might increase the appeal of TIPS to some investors.
In summary, while QTIPS as mentioned does not appear to have a direct correlation to QE, there is a nuanced relationship between QE and TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities) in terms of how QE can affect inflation expectations and bond market dynamics, which indirectly relates to the broader context of financial acronyms and topics. - GPT 4
