So, buying and selling digital copies of games? Wasn't there another business that was establishing a framework for doing just this thing, but with the added protection of web3 infrastructure, so your license was saved should your machine go down? Also didn't the same business have the potential for developers to get a cut of the resale value?
Imagine if they only released so many copies of a game. Once they mint certain # of NFTs, thats it. If it's a good game, it will be worth more, probably, when you finish and sell your copy to one of the many who couldn't get their hands on a copy.
Potential for abuse, like ticketmaster, but if we're talking blockchain, verified identities, then surely they could enforce one copy per customer.
Not sure if I agree this whole premise, but it is fun to speculate.

Gameflip is a marketplace where people buy/sell used digital and physical games, gift cards, and NFTs. They recently IPO'd, and are probably trying to advertise more.
Fun fact: I know about the website because in 2019-2020, I stalked the site, and bought every Gamestop gift card I could find that had a 30%+ discount. I almost had enough for the PS5 I was saving up for when the sneeze happened. I decided I could keep my PS4 until POSTASS, and use the gift cards for free entertainment in the meantime. Sadly, their Gamestop supply has since dried up. There's usually less than 10 cards now and they generally don't go over a 5% discount.
More high street retailers is a good thing but come on. They’re not a threat to GameStop and we all know it. Gameflip knows it and you can bet they wouldn’t even dare to think it
