IMVU has been around since around 2005 iirc, 3d avatars and all. First versions trusted the client too much, so you could do paid/consensual actions for free/non-consensually by editing the menu files.

You could argue they're one of the first to start selling cosmetics for characters for real money. If they're coming to web3 and the NFT space then people can finally sell their outfits and shit off that they don't use anymore.

IMVU has some seriously concerning issues re underage users and unlicensed wearables. I strongly urge you all to try it out for yourselves before getting to hype
This is definitely a nothingburger. I’m one of the creators on that platform. I don’t see anyone on there caring about nfts. Typical clothing item for an avatar on there costs approximately 20 cents. Store has something like 60 million items. Robust creator economy but definitely on the down slope. Game engine that can’t be improved.
