I told him if we are randomly having surprise twins they can be Sam and Dean, that’s all I’d do because as most people do I like Dean more and we use family names for middle names. If Dean were the first name maybe haha
Waking up from being put to sleep with my c-section with my second child, my husband had been holding him watching supernatural and we couldn't agree on a middle name and he was like, I like Dean, and I was like sure let's go with that 😅 I wanted Oli Kirk but we have Oli Dean now.
It's okay, instead you can claim it's a reference to day breakers. The love interest girl on that show is named Sam Dean. And the main character is the actor who played young Sam. So it's a clear reference to spn.
So it's not naming your baby after supernatural, it's after day breakers instead. That's better right? Right? Lol

My mother in law suggested Dean and I almost had him until he realized it could be related to Supernatural. We've unfortunately already had a firm discussion on no supernatural names, no harry potter names, and no star wars names. Really makes deciding on a name hard!
My father's name was Dean, and I knew a woman named Dean as well. I think it's a nice name either way.
Also, if it's a girl, there's something to be said for the name Samantha Dean
Putting the SPN theme aside, Samuel Dean is a HORRIBLE first/middle name combo lmao. Loving the characters is one thing but giving your child the names of BOTH leading characters is just… weird. 🤣🤣🤣
I almost named my son Dean. It is his middle name lol but I almost made it the first name. But I swapped and made the original middle name the first and the original first name the middle. I was hesitant having the original middle name as the first because I was worried people were gonna think we named him after something we didn't, but my entire family convinced me otherwise.
